    Parasyte is certainly interesting. The creature design definitely has some inspiration from John Carpenter's The Thing.

      Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, Jigoku Shoujo (a bit slow but has a plot not very old but not very new either, Another, Ghost Hunt, Ghost Stories (probably this ones for kids but I rather enjoyed it. at least the japanese version), Corpse Party: Tortured Souls (4 OVA episodes), Higurashi No Naku Koro ni Kai (if you watch the first Higurashi you should watch this one otherwise you won't get the full story but don't bother watching Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Rei or Kira..
