  1. Sonic Universe (Comic Series)

Okay, time for my thoughts on Issue #64:
  2. Sonic Boom (The game)

It's pretty much the same thing they did with the Deadly Six. Sure, they did some very evil and dark things story-wise, but boss-wise? Yeah, not so 'Deadly'. And Lyric being Eggman's idol is... actually a possibility in this game. I mean, poor old Eggy seems to only be playing second fiddle to Lyric in the games, though I suspect it's to give Eggman a bit more freedom in the show. For now, I'm gonna stay cautiously optimistic until I pick up the 3DS version when it's released. Then I'll judge the game.
  3. Sonic Boom (The game)

Some of the pre-E3 footage shows that Eggman is a boss in the game. Whether-or-not he's an early-game boss I don't know (though the fight did look pretty easy), but it does mean that he'll have some kind of role in the games. But again, judging from the blog statement, it looks like he might only be the secondary antagonist at best.
  4. Sonic Boom (The game)

According to the official statement from SEGA's blog, "Lyric is a giant and monstrous snake-like creature from an ancient race. An extremely tech-savvy mastermind who uses a sophisticated robotic body of armor to carry out his own nefarious deeds, he is a formidable enemy and a force to be reckoned with. [...] The goal is to prevent Lyric from powering his army of robots and carrying out his plan to destroy the world." Also, in the 3DS version, Sticks is playable instead of Amy because she's been kidnapped by Lyric. All of this (and the fact that Eggman isn't even mentioned ONCE in the entire statement) leads me to believe that Eggman will only play a minor role in this game. I think it's also been said that he's actually inspired by Lyric's actions in the games, leading to Eggman becoming the main villain in the show.
  5. Sonic Boom (The game)

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing as you, Skye. Perhaps it'll be something similar to Rosalina being playable in Super Mario 3D World.
  6. Sonic Boom (The game)

Actually, they have stated that she'll be prominent (or at least, have some role to play) in the game too. The official statement is as follows:
  7. Sonic Boom (Cartoon)

That voice... I can't tell whether it's 'good-annoying' or 'bad-annoying'. But aside from that, this looks pretty interesting. It gives the show another female addition to the team (at least, I think Sticks is female...?) and further gives the series a unique feel compared to the main series. But I'm not sure if that name will really stick with the fans. Also, I've been looking at the 'Behind The Voice Actors' page for Stick's voice actress (Nika Futterman), and some other notable roles she's done include Asajj Ventress from 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' (the CG one) and Pandora from 'Kid Icarus: Uprising', just to name a couple. Now to see if she's actually useful in 'Boom'...
  8. Went to the cinema yesterday to watch 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'. And it was just plain AWESOME!

I think you mean, those who can reach New York have Boom to look forward to. This is pretty sad news for anyone in the UK especially.

  10. Mega Man (Comic Series)

...You know what? I really don't feel like putting up my usual updates for a third time, so I'll let you have this one to yourself, BlueBlur. Instead, I'll just post the covers:
  11. Sonic the Hedgehog (Comic Series)

Well, as BlueBlur has pointed out above me, there are indeed new covers and solicits for Issue #264 - Control, Part 1 (spoilered due to image size): Well, it's about time! I'm definately looking forward to the Werehog's debut, especially since Mighty and Ray are involved too! (Maybe there could be a 'Mighty vs. Werehog fight scene in this arc...?) I'm interested in learning a little bit about this 'Thunderbolt' character. Also note that it's only a two-parter, and it has a backup story like with 'Waves of Change', so it's gonna be significantly shorter than the current arcs. Speaking of backups, Antoine and Bunnie having a personal problem during thie crisis? This definately has me intrigued. Oh, and the SSM having a little inside info on 'Sonic Boom'. I'm down for that too, I guess. What are your thoughts, guys?
  12. Sonic Universe (Comic Series)

Well, as BlueBlur has pointed out above me, there are indeed new covers and solicits for Issue #67 - Total Eclipse, Part 1 (spoilered due to size): Interesting how they're turning this into a trilogy. (It kinda reminds me of this one time the Pokemon movies tried the same thing...) Looks like those 'After The Credits' scenes in Issue #62 were more connected than we thought. Aside from that, it seems like it'll start off with a typical 'Hero vs. Hero' battle, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Also, it looks like the cover styles will be recieving a change, what with the 'Archie Action Series' on the front. What are your thoughts on this, guys?
  13. Sonic the Hedgehog (Comic Series)

Now I'm just picturing an Off-Panel involving Sonic (in his Werehog form) and Tails discussing about this:
  14. Hoo boy, I've got one heck of a week to go through...

  15. So I was recently looking over at the Bumbleking forums and found this... interesting topic: http://www.bumblekin....php?f=4&t=7415 You may notice that pretty much everyone (both there and even outside the forums) aside from a few are calling this a blatant cash-grab and a gimmick. And you know what? I actually think they're mostly right. It basically just amounts to making you buy the same issue twice, with what is likely a one or two-page difference at the end. While you could argue that they won't be necessary to understand the next issue/arc, to me it still sounds a little bit greedy. This really doesn't help matters here either, as practically all the issues on this website are the standard covers. Luckily, this appears to simply be a 'test' of-sorts, so it won't be permanent (and judging by most people's reactions, I doubt it will return anytime soon). But I'd like to know what you guys think about this: Could it possibly work, or is this just a cheap money-grabber?
  16. (I didn't even realise it was Free Comic Book Day last weekend.) Unfortunately, my local comic shop didn't have the Sonic Origins/Mega Man X comic. But I did get something worthwhile... Worlds Collide: Volume 1!

I knew but didn't do anything. At least you got something good :D

  17. Sonic the Hedgehog (Comic Series)

I know what you mean. While I haven't participated in the discussion over there, I can see why they're doing this. The concept was just very poorly executed, and many people like to have the full story. Aside from the few that actually liked 'After The Credits Month', I've found that there are those who felt like it was a waste of space, and those who didn't like having to not only find, but (in legal cases) buy the same issue twice, just to get one little extra page of content. Also, just going over the endings they had, there was either: - a scene leading into the next arc (STH Variant, SU & MM Standard), or - a scene hinting at later events and/or characters (STH Standard, SU & MM Variant) While Scenario B is kinda new and interesting, Scenario A has already been used before (see: the first few arcs of Sonic Universe), which makes it seem less intriguing. The problem is, you never know if/when something like this could happen again in the future. That's why, as far as I can tell, the reason the BumbleCommunity are driving their strong opinions across is because they want to make sure that it never happens again (or at least, not how it was done this time). (Also, if anyone wants to continue discussing 'After The Credits Month' specifically, I'd suggest heading over to the topic I made a while back.)
  18. Sonic Lost World

Oh, I get what you mean. While I'm not a fan of the recent stories, that certainly doesn't mean games like Colours or Generations are bad. I still go back to Generations or Sonic 3&K much more than I do Unleashed or the Adventure games, and definately more than Riders. The gameplay will always be the most important parts of Sonic games (or just games in general), but when possible, I'd like to see a game with both an interesting storyline, as well as excellent gameplay. But that's for another topic.
  19. Sonic Lost World

That's the new Sonic games for ya. Sure, Gens kinda hyped up the Time Eater, and even Colours had a fair bit of foreshadowing the Nega-Wisp Armour, with the big Nega-Wisp area in Asteroid Coaster, but the final bosses have been pretty lackluster. Although, while I think the Nega-Wisp Armour was a decent finale, the final boss in Lost World (does it even have a name?) was just a blatant rehash of that boss, only easier. I could go on, rambling about why I dislike the most recent Sonic storylines, but I don't want this post to go over the limits. I'll just say that Unleashed (as well as Adventure 2 & Riders, to an extent) is my favourite storyline so far.
  20. Sonic the Hedgehog (Comic Series)

Now all that's left is the Mega Man alternate ending, and this whole 'After The Credits' fiasco will be behing us at last. I haven't exactly been a fan of it, that's for sure.
  21. I now have two more additions to my physical set of comics: STH #257 and SU #62. (The variant edition, no less!)

    1. Seviper the Fang Snake
    2. Cinescense

      Cinescense

      Chao variation is best variation

    3. HyperMetal50

      HyperMetal50

Good choices, especially the latter. I'm hoping one day I'll be able to buy the Eclipse variant and start my little own collection as well.

  22. Sonic Universe (Comic Series)

Since it's going on a more games-based setting, in this continuity Knuckles and the Chaotix haven't met anywhere near as much as last time. There last conversations in this continuity would likely have happened in either Colours or Generations, and it's hard to know how long it's been since they last teamed up together like this.
  23. Ken Penders Topic...

[media=] ...If you'll excuse me for a moment, I think I need to wash my eyes out with soap now...
  24. Sonic Universe (Comic Series)

Haha, sorry about that, guys. I just couldn't wait any longer to review it. (That, and they were already in full swing over at BumbleKing). I'll try to slow down next time.
  25. Sonic Universe (Comic Series)

Just finished reading Issue #63, so here are my thoughts:
