About Me
Hi there, my name (or rather screen name) is HyperMetal50. I guess it's as plain as day I'm a Sonic fan of practically everything to do with him. Especially comics and games. Of course it's not just Sonic I love; cars, Star Wars and cartoons are also massive point of interest to me.
One of the main reasons I joined was to read the comics here, since it's the only place I read them. However I've become equally interested in speaking to the other users here and getting to integrate myself into the Sonic community.
At the moment I am currently home educated (and a licensed driver no less B) ) and have the profession in being a writer. What I write isn't at all Sonic related, but one of my dreams is to one day write at least just one single story for the comic. Fat chance I know!
Speaking of comics, I guess I'll share my top 10 issues of STH and SU (not sure if anyone's interested in reading it, but I just like making top tens).
10. Sonic Universe #57
Why?: Because it was one of the most hilarious comics I've ever read. It featured Bean's golden moments and was in my opinion the strongest part in Pirate Plunder Panic.
9.Sonic the Hedgehog #175
Why?: Easy answer: Eggman wins. I mean it's not every day when you see something like that happen, or even in such spectacular fashion. Some of the best moments were seeing Sonic pushing his limits in speed to only dent the Egg Beater's shield and Mighty going all Hulk on Snively.
8. Sonic Universe #49
Why?: Well it was because it showed some spotlight on Mighty and Ray, which I like to read and it had a lot of heart in it with Mighty leaving Matilda. It wasn't short on action however when Mighty went bananas on the Sand Blasters.
7. Sonic the Hedgehog #169
Why? Simple: I love villains that plan for every problem and practically outsmart everyone and ADAM is that type of villain in this. I know it was just a clean up story in which the Chaos Emeralds become seven at last and kill off Tommy, but the way it was done with the super forms and the way it showed ADAM really showing how brilliant a character he is made it so epic to read through.
6. Sonic the Hedgehog #230
Why?: For being one of the most dramatic and high staked issues in the book. Eggman was probably at his most evil in this one with what he planned and a battle between Sonic, Metal Sonic and Silver Sonic is right up my alley. Of course Sally's sacrifice was the big part of it and I have to say it was impressively done. Kinda like how Ben Bates made this issue dazzling to just look at.
5. Sonic the Hedgehog #231
Why?: Everything! Mecha Sally, Titan Metal Sonic, Naugus being epic, the Death Egg laser, Tails Doll, everything!
4. Sonic Universe #50
Why?: Honestly, it may have been simple by plot, but by execution it was done without a hitch. I love Metal Sonic and seeing two battle made my day when I read this. Actually making Metal smarter was what I was waiting for and Shard showing less of his cocky bravado was a step forward in his character development (development I hope can continue in the reboot).
3. Sonic the Hedgehog #250
Why?: It's Sonic, Mega Man, Proto Man, Rush and nearly all Sega characters versus just about ALL Robot Masters with Ben Bates drawing. How can you lose buying this issue?
2. Sonic the Hedgehog #251
Why?: This was Worlds Collide's cherry that's why. With Bates' pencils, Sonic and Mega Man going super and the reforming of their respective universes it's hard to fathom how epic this is.
1. Sonic the Hedgehog #256
Why?: Tough call, but this is number one for doing many rights. Sally's return, an epic fight with Metal Sonic and the start of the Unleashed adaption. I can't really explain it, but I just can't help but find this issue a brilliant read.
And that's all I've got to say I guess. So much for drawing interest!
