"The mic on the laptop might pick up a bit of the sound if I've left it on."

Skye laughed and handed some dessert blows out.

 

"I'll take some too!" said Dominic's father with barely restrained delight.

"And can she recognise speech?" Melody asked curiously.

"I'm almost certain she can."

"Thanks!" Dominic said quickly tucking in

 

"Thank you..." Mark said

"You'll know soon!" said Melody.

"I know. I'm looking forward to it."

"I can get why!" said Melody.  "It does seem exciting!"

"Okay, tuck in everyone!" said Skye.

"Yeah, hey, there's the colonsits. It looks like they've been trapped in that resin."

"eww, icky!" exclaimed Melody

Mark started

"I already started eating!" Dominic said

"And that woman's alive, for the moment at least."

"Don't be so greedy!" said his mother.

"Sorry mom..." Dominic said sadly

"Yeah, she's starting to convulse. Horrible way to go," said Topaz.

[Seviper the Fang Snake 368]

Seviper started eating.

Fenn slowly ate her pudding.

"It's okay son.  But I'll need to teach you better table manners," said his mother.

 

"Do you like the pudding?" Skye asked Seviper and Fenn.

"Aww... okay mom..." Dominic said still looking down

Hope grimaced as one of the creatures burst out of the colonist, startling the marines before the sergeant flamethrowered it.

 

"Its screeches probably just woke up the hive," she said to Melody.

"Hey, cheer up," smiled his mother.  "It's our fault for not being around enough."

Melody peeked out.  "They surrounded... and doomed!  This will be a short film"

"I wouldn't be so sure," said Topaz.

"You couldn't before..." Dominic said

"Well... I guess so.  People wouldn't want to see everyone die," said Melody.
