"Yeah... the fact you call other people prey..." Melody shivered.  "I've given up that kinda life"

"A pity. It seems we'll have to do this the hard way," the woman said with a sigh, getting up and trying to yank Melody back outside.

"That did last as long as I thought!" said Melody, trying to roll of the chair away from the woman.

"Are they nice?" Mark asked

 

"I-I'm t-t-trying..." Sarah said, squeaking a little

"They're fantastic!" said Harmony grinning.

 

"I know.  You're doing well," said Stacey breaking off a hug.

The woman relented.

"Perhaps I was tio rash. You don't want to join us,but you must want to live? Help us and you'll be free to leave. We have no quarrel with you."

Outside, Hope was trying to discretely send a message to Topaz on her watch.

'I think I'm gonna play along.  It might give us a chance to turn the tables' thought Melody.

 

"I... I do w-wanna live..." said Melody.  "But I... I don;t... really know what you are!"

"Ok. I'm trying to get through ti GUN, I just hope I'm not spotted," thought Hope.

The woman smiled.

"Smart choice. And we are simply another race of creature on this planet, born as we are rather than turned."

'Good luck Hope' thought Melody.  'I'll try to stall here'

 

"But... you can turn others into... creatures like you?"

"Oh...I guess we can try" Mark said

 

"Th-thanks..." Sarah said blushing a little

"I'm sure you'll like them," said Harmony.  "C'mon guys!  Let's go to the sweet shop!" she called.

 

Stacey smiled.  "You're welcome."

"Yes, by biting them and waiting for the next full moon.'

"Is it... painful?" asked Melody.

"The initial transformation is agonising even for us. But over time it gets easier "

At GUN, Topaz was familiarising herself with the teleporter when she saw she had a message on her phone and opened it.

"We're going to the sweetshop? Dominic asked

 

Sarah smiled back

"I'm...arrgh...fine." Said Seviper trying to put his tail down.

"Transformations... shouldn't be painful," said Melody, failing to keep the fact she was genuinely interested out of her voice.

"Sure, why not?" asked Harmony.

 

Stacey offered Sarah his had.  "So, are you going to give your Lynx a name?" he asked.

 

"Are... are you sure?" asked Zoe, sounding worried.

"Your body contorts and shifts. I'm not sure what experience you have with transformations, but this one is probably different."

"I guess... the spells I've used... dampen what pain there would be," said Melody.  'Oh *bleep* I shouldn't have mentioned spells'

"Spells? You're a witch?"

Topaz coukdn't believe the message she was reading.

"Werewolves? I ask if she's serious but that teleporter can take her anywhere," she thought

"Where am I gonna get silver?"

"Witch?  Uh... no.  Er... unless... you call anyone who knows magic a witch?" said Melody nervously.

"Females who practice magic are generically called witches. What other types of spell can you do?"

Pondering for a moment, she headed to the break room to find Shadow and Rouge still waiting for their evaluations back.

"I've got a favour to ask."

(LOL! That'd certainly be something.)

"A... little bit of everything," said Melody.  "But... transformation is my main skill.  I'm not that powerful though."
