"They are ninjas, like us.  I took them here to be safe," said Javier, still invisible.  The chameleon sighed. "I doubt stealing them away was the right thing."  She looked towards Dominic.  "You won't be able to open it just by looking at it." ------------- "Oh no you don't!" said Ziona, clamping an arm on Zangoose's shoulder.  "Okay, I need to know what happened!  Exactly!"

"It is the only method of efficient transport available," said Skye, sounding almost weary as he transferred himself.  "I am feeling too.... compressed here.  It would be desirable to acquire a functional avatar, or a method to return home."

Oooh!  Neat.  Looks kinda like a robot excavator!

The door remained solidly shut as Dominic reached it. "Javier?  What's going on?  Who are these children?" came a voice as a female chameleon stepped out of the shadows. ------------ Ziona almost dropped the handheld computer she was booting up, staring between Lucas and Seviper.  "This... has just gone from more paperwork to a LOT more paperwork and a possible court martial!" she murmured, half jokingly, half in shock.

I've got my shopping all done, but I leave the wrapping to Christmas eve to get into the right mood! Plus, the tree is going up today.

"It is safer here than in your home.  The Doctor will find you there," said the Voice as he carried the children through the door, which closed behind them.  The grip vanished as he put the three down. ---------- Ziona sighed.  "Great.  MORE paperwork!"

"I see.  The implementation of this plan would depend more on the factors at the time," replied Skye.  "Should we be proceeding to rendezvous with our companions?"

"His name my be a joke, but his actions are not," said the Voice as a hidden door in the cave wall opened. ----------- "I think it is," said Ziona crossing her arms and giving Zangoose a hard stare.

"Dr Eggman.  You must know of him," said the Voice as the reached the back wall of the cave. ------------ "Nice to meet you Lance," said Ziona guardedly.  "How did you arrive here?"

I knew about that guy.  I was meaning those who made the vote.

Was incompetence or corruption the main reason for this?

"Nowhere is safe from him.  And being there, you are a target," said the Voice. ------------ Ziona started to smile, then jumped a little as Zangoose and the fox walked in.  "Er.. hello.  Who is your new friend?" asked Ziona in a friendly but guarded way.

"We will explain once you are safe," said the voice. ------------- "Awww..." Ziona smiled, blushing slight as she did.

"We were all ninja's once.  Living away from the bickering of the Four Houses.  Then HE came," said the voice as he entered a dark cave. --------- "And what would it be?" asked Ziona.

"We thought that too.  Then he came and took us all away," replied the voice. --------- "Other than sandwiches?" asked Ziona.

"I'm doing this to protect you," said the voice. ---------- "One thing?" asked Ziona curiously.

The invisible figure began speeding up, hurrying away from Haven. --------- "So I'm better because I'm unique?" asked Ziona.

The grasp of the metal hands was slipping as the two children struggled. -------- "More than me?" asked Ziona with a hint of danger.

The voice didn't reply, instead it tried dragging the children away. ----- "What?  Which one?  I'll devour them!" exclaimed Ziona in mock anger. --------- (Will the Seviper-fox have a pet vulpix-fiona? ;-p )

"Pain is irrelevant," replied the voice.  "You have no choice.  You will come with us." ----------- "You better not do anything to make me jealous!" laughed Ziona.

"You will come with us," spoke a metallic voice. ------------- "You like a jealous girl?" teased Ziona.
