Skye Prower

At this point, Skye broke down crying. -------------- "Its gotta get better Mom," replied Anna. "We've gotta make it better." ------------- "I think most people bought the 'actors' story. Is everyone ready to go?" asked Melody. ------------ "If the wardens are doing their job properly, that shouldn't happen." ------------ Miles bristled slightly at the words 'ludicrous' and 'laughable'. But then, she didn't deal with magic, which explained her views on the former. He just ignored the latter. "Does that simply mean a more careful method of administration, or do you need to know their biology before hand, or both?" (ooc: And the hypocritical thing, if someone else was doing what Miles was doing, he'd also call them 'pathetic'!)

"So am I, but I'm not sure about everyone else." ----------------- "There is someone I need to recover, but she is protected by a group, including those ultimate lifeforms. However, they enjoy playing domestic together. I'm sure you can concoct something that could put even Shadow to sleep if dropped into their meals. And once recovered, I need all her memories from yesterday removed. She's had some strange personality transplant that needs to be undone. And, in order to ensure some future mistakes won't be made, I need a way to ensure that she'll love me."

"We should still clear out quickly, before any more questions get asked," suggested Melody to the others. ----------------------- Miles smiled. This was actually going better than he'd expected, given her reputation. "I can give you three reasons to begin with. First, I sabotaged my collar before it was activated, so it's only half effective. That can give me a chance to escape, with help. As for the other two reasons...." Miles leaned in closer. This was a chance to get rid of the person he hated, and the one threatening to steal Mina's heart from him. "Two 'ultimate lifeforms'. The Prime Shadow and his Moebius counterpart are practically bunking together. I can lead you to them, and help you... requisition them for your experiments."

"Yeah, I need... I just need some peace and quiet for a bit... and Tikal," said Skye. ----------------- "A better idea might be teleport back, grab Mina, and get her to perform a song or two to distract the crowds," Melody whispered. She walked forwards, faced the crowds, shaking slightly. She took a deep breath, then addressed them in a strong voice. "I hope you enjoy our little performance. I must apologise that some of our special effects malfunctioned, but the issue will soon be taken care of. We hope you enjoy the rest of the wonderful day here." ----------------------- Anna embraced Red. "It'll be okay. Those memories never happened now. They can't hurt you any more." ---------------------- "I doubt anyone thought this far ahead," said Ziona. "I should have seen it coming, but didn't." ---------------------- Miles was beginning to have seconds thoughts about his plan. Even for a Moebian, there were some lines that shouldn't be crossed. Some things that even they balked at. Part of his mind ideally slipped into was Red had said. Not just about moving on, but about the other part. Her interest in him. After all, the younger Red was quite... He shook his head. No, he couldn't given up on Mina. He'd do anything to be with her. Even this. And now he had an idea of the mistakes the future could hold, he could avoid them so he and Mina could be happy together forever. He entered the canteen, and taking his tray made his way over to a table with a single occupant. Even here, powerless, there were some people that no one messed with. And this was one of them. Miles sat down opposite, making sure there was no one overhearing. "Hello Robotnik. I've a proposition for you," said Miles. He looked steadily at the girl called Hope opposite him.

Skye shook his head. "No I'm not. I lost control. I... thought I was better than that. Can we go back now, please?" ------------- "I think we should..." Melody was about to say 'go', but looking around, she changed her mind. "Anna. Talk to Mom. I think she needs a hand. I, uh, think I'll try and talk to the crowd. Think they'll fall for 'impromptu street acting?'" she asked. Anna nodded, stood up slightly shakily, and walked over to Red. "Mom, are you alright?" she asked, kneeing down next to her and catching Red's hand. ---------------- "Maybe, but I didn't hear any other suggestions," said Ziona bitterly. ---------------- Miles found himself roughhoused and shoved by the guards as he was led into the No-Zone prison. His foot was patched up, but that was the only positive thing about the experience. But as the processing continued, a smirk appeared on his face.

Well, I'm one of those annoying people who changes their favorite song every few months, but currently it's this:

"It's hardly ever fun these days," said Ziona. The other cops surrounded Miles and snapped a collar round his neck. Anna looked towards Miles. Miles reached towards her and let out a plea-filled 'Mina' as he and the Zone cops were teleported away. ----------------- "Yes Dad?" asked Skye, looking up at Locke, his eyes still partially stained black.

"Look Glen," said Ziona. "This is different from Skye. Skye was actually sorry for what he did, and was facing a life sentence. Miles, if he's ever been sorry he doesn't seem to be about this. Besides, the only charge against him is trespassing. I doubt we can hold him for more than a couple of months. But that may be long enough for him to calm down." Ziona spoke into her radio, and a few moments later three Zone cops appeared. Miles looked around at them. "Looks like the choice has been made for you," said Miles. -------------- "I... I understand Shadow," said Anna, but she still looked upset. Melody held her tightly. "Melody?" "Yeah Sis?" "You're crushing me!" "Oh! Sorry." Melody loosened her grip.

(ooc: Nope!) Miles looked surprised at Red sentimentality. "And what happens to me?" he asked, looking around. -------------------- "It's not you fault, it's mine," replied Anna, sounding surprised at her own words. "I have hadn't stayed this wouldn't have happened. I should have left." "Don't say that. Don't ever say that," begged Melody. -------------------- "Would you rather have him free to roam and try again?" asked Ziona.

"And that isn't going to happen now. So what are you going to do?" ----------------- Anna looked away fro Red and Miles, and saw Rouge lying on the ground. For a second Anna was flooded with fear, thinking she was the younger version of Red, the one Anna's age. Then she realised it wasn't. But Anna was still concerned. "What happened?" she asked. ---------------- "If he's arrested? He'll be taken to No-Zone jail and hopefully rehabilitated," explained Ziona

Inwardly, Miles was pleased. If Red felt that way, it could be something to exploit. "So is that why you were insisting so hard that I'd fall in love with someone else?" he asked, realising that Red had been trying to play matchmaker across time. -------------------- Anna curled up slightly. "I never knew," she said quietly. "Of course you didn't. It hasn't happened yet!" replied Melody. ------------------ Skye turned and took ahold of Locke, though he was managing not to cry

"I've hardly even met you..." Miles stammered out, shock by this coming from someone older than him by about 4 times. Only for him to remember... "Oh yeah, time-travel." "What did you say?" cut in Anna, causing Melody to jump slightly. She had been coming round so slowly that even Melody hadn't noticed, and had started listening to what Red and Miles were saying. -------------------- Skye nodded, but still looked miserable. -------------------- "Keep your fingers crossed."

"Yeah. No doubt she'll grow to hate me under the influence of her 'friends'. You've already stolen everything else about her from me. Just... stop talking, and arrest me, or send me home. Or whatever it is you've planned." ---------------- "But I thought I wasn't like that now, even in the dark." said Skye --------------- "That's the fire button. That's the emergency 'call for backup' button," said Ziona.

Miles was somewhat shocked by what he just heard, but it didn't last long. "At least you're no longer pretending that my future's gonna be all happy and wonderful now. Fine, do whatever you gonna do then," he said resignedly. ---------------- "I thought... I though I'd managed to get past that... Past who I was.." said Skye. ---------------- "I'm just getting ready to call in the arresting squad, not blast everyone!" said Ziona.

"Save me the pleasantries and attempts at comfort," said Miles bitterly. "You've already told me what 'should' happen and how its gone now. So don't bother trying to sugarcoat it." ------------------ Skye didn't say anything. He just looked unhappily at the ground. ------------------ "There was just a few seconds ago. But it looks calmer now."

Miles considered his options. He looked at the situation at hand. And made up his mind. His eyes dropped. "Even if I took her back home, she'd just escape back here, wouldn't she." He sighed unhappily. "It's not fair." -------------- Skye dropped both the sword and to his knees. ------------- Ziona didsn't reply, but was keeping a close eye on the situation. Her finger was hovering over the emergency call button on her gauntlet.

Miles looked at Red, trying to gauge just how much of what she was saying was a lie. "If that's true, what makes you think you can change that? It doesn't sound like any amount of 'love' and 'affection' can stop her. She's a Moebian. You can't change her nature. All you'll have is a ticking time-bomb. For your sake, she'd be safer away for all of you." (ooc: Miles doesn't know about Anna being 'broken'.) -------------- Skye suddenly looked as if he'd been slapped in the face with the phrase 'no turning back'. He gulped. -------------- Anna began to stir and her eyes started to open slowly. -------------- "I really don't know Glen. If they start beating him again, I'll have to."

"I wasn't playing the victim. But..." Miles words were stopped by Dylan's punch. "And that was why I tried to leave," he said, staring at Dylan with hate filled eyes. It looked as if Miles was about to say something to Red, but when she outright mentioned him being married to Mina, he froze. --------------- A smirk appeared on Skye's face with Dylan's punch. "Really?" -------------- "I'm not sure it would be sensible waiting any longer." said Ziona, getting ready to make a call.

Miles turned his head to look at Red. "As if I would believe your lies about doing this 'peacefully' when everyone else wanted to torture me. Looks like I was right." ----------------- "I doesn't look they're doing things differently," said Skye, cocking his head to the side. --------------- "I'm fine. We're fine," Said Melody as she lowered her knife. ------------- "Can't do that. Okay, listen up people. This child is trespassing in this Zone so I'm duty bound to arrest him."

Miles screamed as his leg snapped and he found himself grabbed by Crowley and Red. He looked drained, and in no condition to fight back now. (ooc: Though Miles 'chaos reversal/feedback' field is still active.) Melody was still kneeing on the ground holding onto Anna. But her knife was drawn and the blade out. If Miles hadn't been grabbed, from where she held it, the blade would have liking been impaled in Miles' midriff. She turned her head slowly to look at Locke. "But you didn't tell me to stay Dad," she said, though her voice sounded a little distant. (ooc: Yeah, I know Locke did say he wanted everyone to wait, but that was to everyone generally, and Melody wasn't really paying attention.) Skye looked over to where Miles now was. "You shouldn't have stopped me," he said, beginning to walk forward again. Ziona looked around at the situation. "Do you want me to arrest him? I'm sure I can arrange a good long stay in No-Zone jail for him."

(ooc: I'm gone less than 10 hours and this happens? :( ) When Melody arrived she looked around frantically. Seeing that Skye was with Locke, she hurried over to where Anna lay and began cradling her. "I'm sorry," she whispered, "But it's gonna be okay. I promise." She wasn't sure if Anna could hear her or not. ----------------- "I have to. I can't let him hurt anyone else," said Skye, though his voice was now weak. ---------------- "Never mind," said Ziona as she hurried along. "It'll take too long to explain and we probably don't have the time right now." --------------- Miles was initially shocked as he finally put all the pieces together, his idea fairly close to the reality of the situation. But when the shock faded, he began quietly and subtle gathering magical energy, until suddenly his body melted into wispy shadows, reforming next to Melody and Anna. As he formed again his eyes were now bloodshot, and the small trickle of blood from his nose was now a solid flow. He looked down at where Melody was holding onto Anna. "I guess I'll have to take you both then," said Miles, as he grabbed onto the two girls and started to try and Shadowmeld himself and them with him.

"You're Red?" exclaimed Miles in a disbelieving tone. This bat was far too old to be Mina's friend. Then his brain began putting the pieces together. The things Mina and Skye had said. The implications that Shadow and Dylan had more encounters with him that he could remember. The age of Red on front of him. Which would mean... It couldn't be... His eyes went wide as he realised what it all meant. "No way..." ------------- Skye began shaking slightly. He took a step back and lowered the blade, but didn't drop it. ------------- Melody shook her head. "I don't want to fight. But I can't stay here not know what is going on. I have to go." ------------ "It depends what's happening what goes in the report. After all, some details the Zone cops already know."
