"Thanks!" he said. "Are you still gonna do those tests?"

"A charger." Zamy pulled out another box full of power cells.

"These are for my pistol. You put the cell in like this, press that button, and when the light is green the cell is charged and you move onto the next one," she continued, demonstrating it.

"You're going to charge the rest of them.'

"Having the more critical areas less accessible," she explained, stepping inside.

"No point," sighed Ziona.  "But you're still going to your room."

Miles looked over the box, his eyes going wide.  "H-how long will that take?" he asked.

"Yeah... but it's kinda the other extreme being a maze of corridors," said Melody, indicating a map.

"Why no point?" Dominic asked. "I thought you wanted to do it!"

"I've no idea. There's about 100 cells."

"Yeah that looks pretty complicated."

[Skye Prower 386]

"Don't worry about it," said Ziona with another weary sigh.  "I need a drink."

Miles gave another whimper.  "I... I'm just gonna grab a book then..."

"I still get lost sometimes," Melody admitted

"Oh...okay!" Dominic said. "Am I...gonna be alone in my room?"

"Yes.  That's what happens when you scream like that on front of everyone.  You'll be allowed out again in an hour."

"No!" Dominic whined."I hate being alone!"

"No. You're going to concentrate on charging those cells."

"I can understand that. Do you go down there much?"

"You should have thought of that before you threw a tantrum," said Ziona.  "And if you even START to moan again, it'll be longer before you're let out."

"W-what... but... that's... it's... There's noting to do but watch a blinking light!" said Miles.

"Not to that level, but the level below where the labs and basements are, yeah!" said Melody/

Dominic whined more but said nothing

"Now come on," said Ziona, walking to Dominic's room.  "Maybe if you behave it might only be half an hour."

"I know. That's the poimt. Just think about how much you're helping me."

"I didn't think of you as much of a tinkerer."

Dominic whined more and looked pained but still said nothing

"I.. I... o-okay Zamy," said Miles, but with a little reluctance.

"Actually it's more a magical lab.  Doing stuff with magic and the like," said Melody.

"But don't you have Rexy for company?" asked Ziona.

"Rexy? Oh yeah!" Dominic said."I'll get him to come!"

"See, it's not so bad," said Ziona.

"They only take a couple seconds each to charge."

"Ah, I understand."

"That's not so bad," said Miles.

"Yeah.  Since coming back I've really liked toying with magic stuff.  I blame my brother," said Melody.

"I guess...it's still better with more..." Dominic said quietly

"You like having a... pack?" asked Ziona.

"I'm going tp finish my report while you do that."

"Well at least it keeps you busy."

Dominic flinched at little at the word pack

 

"Kinda..." he said

"O-okay Zamy," said Miles sitting down and starting with the charging.

"I guess it does... considering there isn't a obstacle course round here," said Melody.
