Ah.. so this is what we'll be getting. The game looks inspired by Super Mario Galaxy, hopefully won't be too similar. Its looks overall fun actually but I don't have a Wii-U! Kinda disappointed about the whole contract with Nintendo thing. The new six guardians don't look very threatening to me, meh, not really fond of the cartoony style. Good to know that Tails, Knuckles and Amy will appearing unlike recent games, but I would want them to bring back more characters to play as. A little interesting and disappointing at the same time..
Did you read issue 232? Dimitri has been relocated back to Angel Island and is now at Haven. Apparently there's no evidence to suggest that he had been banished with the other echidnas by thrash through his warp ring. As Thrash himself only mentioned he took care of "those girls at the master emerald." Whatever his fate, he definitely cannot be used now as Penders has claimed him as his own and has plans for him for the Lara-Su Chronicles. Yeah, one of my favorites too actually.
No I'm not suggesting that, but looking at those solicits makes me think they are either going to drop penders' work issue by issue or just leave them out until the case is settled. The former is unless Archie is no longer allowed to use his work. Hopefully the latter is true, possibly and should be. Thanks for feeling me.
Anyways, I've been honestly wanting to ask everyone. Do you feel that Shade and the Marauders from Sonic Chronicles were ripped off of the the Dark Legion? Since this is the reason this whole case started. Personally, I don't see how Julie-Su and Shade are even alike. I hadn't the slightest idea about any similarity until I found out about the lawsuit. But I still don't really see how, only thing in common is that their from an evil group, but their stories are so different not to mention design. What's everyone's say on this?
Penders mainly created like literally everything for Knuckles' story, if they trash all his characters I don't see how Knuckles' stories will make sense anymore. When the crossover was announced last year I was eagerly looking forward to it but now I just can't enjoy it because I'm really worried if the characters will disappear forever. Sure the crossover is doing good but I'm more concern for the main storyline now with the recent previews for 252. The solicts sound so vague its just scares me. Hopefully they put the characters out for awhile until they can use them again and NOT kill them.
I am in no way in support for a reboot. All those 20 years of storyplanning wasted, not to mention some 20th anniversary for the comics we are getting. :(
Oh! We really don't know much about what is going on. But yes he made his mistakes and can be a nice guy. Maybe the internet has become too bias to Archie and against him, but its hard for me as I respected the guy and he posted alot of wrong stuff which made me dislike him. If he was, he shouldn't have posted such things knowing he has an image to maintain. Urgh, I really want to know what excatly is going on! But I'm doubtful a full report on this whole case of four years would be shared with the fans. I just wann it tooo enddddd...!
Ah no worries its okay. I hate how the covers had to be bombarded with such edits, we had alot of annoying cover changes lately. Yeah its surprising they could post up the original covers and heck yeah about Lien Da, love what Ian has done to her, sadly, we only got one issue with her new abillties. I can imagine the Krudzu in her place as his attacks look very simliar to Lien Da's tentacle whips. Endangered Species is my least favorite arc now when I thought it was going to be my top, all that story built up for nothing..
Hmm.. interesting post you had there but still he did say some things which I found a little offensive towards the current comic staff and his claim on the characters. But I don't wish to discuss that. I guess we don't know much but I have seen his words. I'm trying not to be too upset about it.
Anyway, referring to your quote, the Archives don't appear to be affected for some reason but the magazines are. Knuckles Archives 4 had a boring cover because apparently his characters are no longer allowed to appear on covers because of the lawsuit. Which I am honestly upset that we can't see any penders characters in Japanese art style anymore. Didn't you know that Geoffrey was removed from the final cover of Sonic Legacy? It was drawn before it was obviously ordered that his characters (that he had claimed) were to be removed from the covers to avoid more losses of the lawsuit.
Oh don't get me started about this man whom I foolishly respected and thought was a good writer. I knew about the lawsuit going on for awhile but I really hadn't the slightest idea it was going to effect the comic since I heard Ian Flynn said it wouldn't some time back. When previews for the Endangered Species and Chaotix Quest came out I was really excited upon seeing that Rob and all my favorite Echidnas would be appearing again. And then, BAM, they all disappeared and couldn't even be named dropped, not even concepts could be mentioned. Believe me, I'm struck as hard as any fan would be knowing some of my favorite characters may be gone forever, and the whole book wouldn't make sense anymore knowing most of these were like the ground work for the series.
Honestly speaking, Ken is my least favorite writer of the book. My only good point I can make of him is that he came up with good plots but was terrible with the dialogue, super boring. MetalSkulkBane_PL had pretty much listed my other dislikes for him already. Seeing all of Penders' comments on his forum about the current comic made me lose all my respect for the guy. I really don't see who would be interested in buying his "Lara-Su Chronicles" that nobody gives a hoot about. Not to be harsh, but the designs are ugly and unappealing.
Pretty much a rant of mine, but really, the guy should be happy that Ian is still using his concepts and characters for the fans to enjoy knowing his work for the book goes on, and yet got into this whole mess of a lawsuit on claiming his stuff back. If Penders' characters are permanently gone I cannot look at the book the same way again knowing Julie Su, Elias, Geoffrey and etc have all gone bye bye. That is why now I'm hoping Archie will win the case. Ken seriously has gained more hate than support because of this mess.
I liked Sonic X and I felt it was rather a popular cartoon among the fan base though people really need to watch the Japanese version of the show. Watching the English version was really a waste of time when the original was hanging out there. The anime had its ups and downs, let me list my personal opinion:
Adaption of Sonic games (Main win for me).
The only Sonic cartoon to feature Amy, Cream, Shadow, Rouge, Tikal, Maria and many other game characters.
Good animation and coloring.
The human characters were fine, but felt overused and annoying at times. Chris was okay but stole a lot of spotlight from the rest of the cast. He was better in Season 3.
Amy being way too aggressive. Sure it can funny but a little out of character for her.
Fighting scenes were too rushed, (especially Super Sonic's battle with Perfect Chaos) A LOT more action could have taken place.
Certain episodes felt very repetitive. Sonic and the gang happen to do something, Eggman comes, Tails gives Sonic a ring, Sonic wins.
Season 3 mainly taking in space. I wanted the series to be focused on Mobius after they came back from Earth. The Metarax arc was okay mainly cause of Cosmo, but no, space travel adventures aren't meant for Sonic. Hopefully if there's ever going to be a season 4 (which I doubt) the plot setting would be on Mobius.
So yeah, I liked the Anime along with SATam. If a season 4 would ever come I would like to see it adapting more Sonic games and more characters like Silver, Blaze, Metal Sonic, etc appearing. That would be awesome.
I don't think so, Ian has said in the recent Sonic Talk interview #19 that he doesn't actually have a favorite but loves all of the comic books he's writing. Saying he doesn't get out of bed every morning telling himself "Ugh here we go, I'm not wanting to continue writing for this comic series", but rather he enjoys them all having grown up with them. No preferences.
