I'm not saying it can't be done.  Far from it.  It might even be good.  My issue is that one franchise wouldn't be staying true to what it is.     It would be like... hmm... forcing Batman to use a gun, or kill someone.  It goes against the fundamental tenets of the character.  And it would be the same situation with the proposed cross-over.

"No!" giggled Anna, poking Spark's nose gently.

*flies up and catches Seviper* That was close   Lino?

"Thanks Seviper, otherwise things would be kinda awkward!" grinned Skye.

That solves the Power Level problem.  But not the problem that Call of Duty and Sonic are so different in tone.   Actually, I'd argue that Sonic is the more power side in the above example.   What is the onscreen death toll in an average Call of Duty Game?   What is the onscreen death toll in an average Sonic Game?   This is the trouble.  They are so different in tone that one (or both) has to be warped so much that it is no longer what it was originally.  You've taken it's soul away.

Melody grinned and started sprinting up the stairs.   -----------   Miles shook his head.  "Most of the theaters weren't exactly in any condition to show movies."

"So are you!" insisted Anna.

*facepalm* Give... Sonic... A.. Gun...   Okay, ignoring the 'Sonic doesn't need a gun' argument.  Laser or not, it's still a gun.  Something used to kill people.  If it's just Shadow using it, that's fine, he's the anti-hero.  If it's against robots, that's fine, cause robots.   The way you're speaking, you're perfectly happy to have Tails or Cream armed with a lethal weapons shooting at living people.  I hope I'm interpreting this wrong.

"Isn't there a 'for the good of the city' get out of jail free excuse?" asked Melody.  "Wanna go faster," she added with a grin, offering to pick Topaz up.   -------   Miles shook his head.  "From what I know of your world there are few magic users.... And only two would be powerful enough, but it doesn't fit there.... M.O." said Miles.  "Gah, I'm getting motion sickness!" he exclaimed, pointing at the moving image on the screen.

Personally... I don't feel you can make a crossover with anything.  Well, you can, but NOT if you want to keep the spirit of the works.  There are two things you need to balance.   1) Power Levels.  You have to make sure that the two sides are of similar power levels, otherwise it's not fair on the weaker franchise as the other will dominate.  Note, this applies more to heroes than villains, as long as everyone in the crossover and contribute equally.   2) Tone.  You have to make sure the tone matches between the two.  And this is were I think the idea with Call of Duty say fails.  It is a (or sorta was) realistic military shooter with LOTS of deaths.  Sonic is a cartoon animal superhero franchise with few deaths.  Either Call of Duty gets its claws trimmed, OR the Sonic world sees so much bloodshed it's left so warped it's not Sonic anymore.   Well... at least you didn't suggest crossing it over with Warhammer 40k.  *shudders* Anyone suggesting that deserves a chainsword up the rear.

"Sounds good, let's go!" said Melody.   ---------   Miles nodded and watched intensly.   ---------   "I have a good idea," Anna smiled gazing into Spark's eyes.

"It's not important," said Anna.   ------------   "Which one's the tallest overlooking this section?" asked Melody.   -----------   "No sign of anything yet," said Miles as he watched the screen.

Deus Ex?   Half-Life?   Sniper Elite??   Call of Duty????? Bwa?  Er... Those games really don't suit the tone of Sonic.... okay, Half Life... Maaaaaaaaybe, but the rest are too grim and gritty.  You'd end up with another Shadow the Hedgehog but worse in terms of tone.

"Should we check?" asked Anna.   ----------   "OR if they are, company on mass, not just the two of us," grinned Melody.  "Let's get to high ground!"   ----------   "Can you get the feed?" asked Miles.  "Though, if there is a lot of magic around, that might cause interference."

Anna laughed sleepily.  "So it could be the middle of the night?"

"Is it still afternoon?" asked Anna sleepily.   -----------   "Keep your eyes peeled, they could arrive at anytime," said Melody.   -----------   "Do those headpieces have cameras?" asked Miles.

Anna stirred slightly, slowing opening her eyes.

"You're world doesn't have many magic users, so it's a short list," said Melody fitting her headpiece.  "Okay, I'm ready to go."

"You shouldn't have changed me in the first place," glared Ziona.   "We just wanted you to have fun!" said Zoe, on the verge of tears.   ------------   "Thanks Hope, and don;t worry.  Taking care of crazy mages? That's what I've been trained to do!" grinned Melody as she checked her knife.

"Oh boy..." breathed Miles.   "Looks like I've got my first GUN assignment," said melody, grinning at Hope.

"Cool!" grinned Skye, holing his hand up.   ---------   Melody grinned.   "Wouldn't Team Dark be better?" asked Miles.   ---------   "Exactly!" said Ziona.  "But for some reason I'm shorter and squeakier than usual."
