Hello there Hmm... Seviper?

Actually, outside the fandom, any Sonic story generally seems to be reviled.  What we need is a couple good games in a row comparable to Generations (great gameplay, minimalist story) and THEN bring the storytelling back.

Yeah, the price of the main box alone is pretty crazy, and it's almost not worth it if you don't plan on buying more. Basically, here's three questions to ask yourself before you get the game.   1) Do you like Lego Games?  If not, don't go near it, even if you really like some of the franchises involved.   2) Sauron leading a Dalek attack on Metropolis defended by Benny the Spaceman riding a Raptor from Jurassic Park, does that appeal to you? If not, don't get it.   3) Do you have a lot of money?  This is the big question, cause if not, or you're not willing to spend it on the game, you won;t get even near the full experience.   If all the packs were £5 cheaper, they be expensive, but reasonably expensive.   However, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a price drop across the board after christmas....

Shattered Crystal was functional, actually it was a pretty good game.  It just gets lumped with Rise of Lyric cause....er...  angry fans I guess.

If your meaning Nintendo, nope, that won't be good.  That's pretty much where Lost World came from.
