"We're all here for you," said Skye, smiling. "Red," whispered Mina quietly. "I dunno... I dunno what I can do now. I thought... I thought I could do this job and not... not end up like her. But that's what waits for me, isn't it. What do I do?" ------------- (ooc: stupid autocorrect) "Huh, you must have misheard me. Nevermind."

(ooc: On phone so no formatting for a change.) "Sorry, I thought," began Skye, then his face split into a grin and he almost ran to Red's side. "Thanks Mom." Mina looked a little confused, not knowing how to react. --------- "Do you mean laterally or metaphorically as well?" Ziona asked

"Of course Mo...er," Melody glanced at Mina, "er.. Red..." "So Red... adopted you two?" asked Mina. Melody nodded. "You couldn't have asked for better," said Mina as she walked over to Red's side, and squeezed her hand. "We're here." Skye held back near the door, unsure what to do. "Tikal?" he asked, looking around. He need a bit of comfort. ----------------- Ziona smiled, picked up her milkshake, and walked out onto the balcony.

"I know, I know," sobbed Mina. "But it happened to them, and that's bad enough. I never wanted to be anything like her and I..." She paused, and looked towards the leaving Crowley. "Crowley, I... I.. would like it if you stayed... but if you want to go..." "Its okay" began Melody, managing to pull a hand free and pet her on the back. "The fact you're not gonna let it happen again is enough Mother... Mom..." Mina managed a tear filled chuckle. "I... I think that's something I can't do though.... be your Mom. I mean, you're almost as old as I am!" --------------- "Sounds good."

"I... I gonna need the help Red," said Mina, all traces of her confident, cocky attitude vanished. "I don't know what I can do but..." Mina turned to face the children, who were still standing there silently, not sure what to say. "I can't let this happen." Suddenly she rushed at Melody and hugged her tightly. "I'm sorry for everything I put you through. I swore I'd never be like my mother, which just makes it worse. I want to find some way to make it up to you." ------------- "I think it's his decision," said Ziona. "You are welcome to join us if you want."

"I... changed... So bad they had to... leave... Oh no. Tell me I didn't... Tell me I didn't end up like my mother," Mina begged to Red. She looked at Crowley. "You said I could change this. You were telling the truth? You weren't lying?" ----------------- "Hmm, I think sunrise shouldn't be too far away. How about we go and watch it, and maybe it will make a nice photo for Dylan as well?"

(ooc: Crowley was in the medical bay too. Shadow etc are in the hotel.) "Wait... so what happened in the dream.... the fact that you two were...." Mina tried to ask, looking at Skye and Melody. Skye nodded somberly in reply. "But then..." She turned to Red and Crowley. "Why are they here? Why are you here?" ------------------- "Shall I leave the two of you alone for some privacy?" Ziona said to Glen and Dylan.

"It should be safe to do so know," said Skye as he entered the Medical Bay, pushing Melody back inside with him. "I think a found a way to prevent the paradoxes." "Safe? Paradoxes? You mean...?" -------------- "In which case, I might need some photography lessons Dylan to try and capture some amusing photos for myself."

"I... I know who she is... We... met..." said Mina, still staring at Melody, who began taking a few steps back. ---------------- "We're almost there Silver, the medical bay is just around there," replied Skye. He turned the corner and went to enter, only to jump back out of sight of the door. He took a sharp breath. "My Mother's in there," he whispered to Silver. "And she's just seen Melody. I guess we'll soon know if the ritual did work." "I saw you out there," called Mina, slowly coming back to her senses. "So why don't you just come into to the mad house as well." --------------------- "Remind me never to go near a swimming pool with you," murmured Ziona.

"Dad? What's going on? "Dad? DAD?" Skye began shouting into the radio. "Yeah, I think this means trouble," he said, facing Silver and hurrying on. "I hope nothing's broken into Haven." -------------- "I mean the.." Mina heard Skye's shouts over the radio. "That voice... It can't be.." "Mom? Dad? I'm her...WOAH!" screeched Melody as she sprinted into the medical bay. She and Mina stared at each other. "Oops," whispered Melody. -------------- "HEY! C'mon Hope, we're not as bad as Skye and Tikal!"

"Great, c'mon," said Melody, as she heard the words 'medical bay' and sprinted off. "Melody! Wait!" yelled Skye as he had heard the whole thing. He headed out the room after her. "What do you mean not a good idea?" --------------- "Skye? But... but that was...." Mina looked at Red. "Do you want to rescind your earlier statement?" -------------- "Heh heh. I had no idea you head was so sensitive. Wait, what am I saying, of course it is!"

"Like I said, I've just finished implementing a way to protect us from paradoxes. Silver the Hedgehog is here with us. Where in Haven are you. We'll meet you there," "You got here quickly, so if you need to leave it won't take long." ------------- (ooc: Darn, normally I pick up on stuff like this.) Being distracted by Red's plight, it took a few moments for Mina's brain to register Locke's radio message. "What? Did? You? Say?" ---------------- Ziona gave Glen a playful slap on the back of the head.

"You're in Haven? Wha..? Where? Melody and I are in basement 17," Skye replied. "Dad's here? Hey Silver, I'm sure Dad would like to thank you for saving us." ----------- Mina sighed and shook her head. "I see. Either way, am always your friend, and I'm gonna make sure you're ok." ---------- "I will Glen."

"Heh, no need to be so modest," laughed Melody "I dunno. There shouldn't be any risks now. At all. Where are you and Mom? Are you ok?" ------------- "Aren't you?" asked Mina. (ooc: I use the colours to show who's speaking. This is Skye (red fur) This is Melody (dark purple hair) This is Mina (black fur) This is Ziona (uh, I dunno) This will be Miles, when/if he shows up)

"Thank's Tikal," said Skye, sitting up and hugging her. "I think it worked. Hopefully it passed on to Melody, Mom and Crowley as well. Melody, did you feel anything?" "I had some kinda... shock near the end. That could have been it." "One way to check," said Skye, pulling out his radio. "Dad? Can you hear me? It's Skye. I think I've found a way to save me, melody, Mom and Crowley from the paradoxes. Can you ask Mom if she felt a... shock... a couple of minutes ago. If she did, it mean it worked, and we don't need to worry about paradoxes anymore." He lowered the radio. "Thank you Silver. You might have just saved four lives." --------------- "I know. I am looking at you. That's why I asked." -------------- "I understand Shadow. Security and all that jazz."

"Uh, Tikal, not that I mind or anything, but could you untie me?" asked Skye, while Melody giggled from across the room. --------------- "Good," replied Mina, then she fidgeted slight. "Before you went unconscious, what were you saying?" --------------- "I won't Glen, I won't." Then she whispered something in his ear. "I've got something good to come back to now, right?"

"That's good, that's good," said Melody unstrapping Silver. Skye tried to rise as Tikal approached him, but couldn't because of the straps. He managed to smile. "I think I'm ok. I think it worked." ----------------- "You get better and we have a deal," replied Mina. ----------------- "I know Glen, I know. But just to enjoy it again for a short while everyone now and then..." Ziona turned to Shadow. "Thank you. I really should visit him. I don't want him to think I've abandoned him. It wouldn't be fair."

"I think that'll be okay. Actually, I need to check on Zet. He's still in hospital there, isn't he?"

"Can I help test it?" asked Ziona eagerly.

The energy began to fade and Melody lowered her arms. "It's done," she stated. "Are you two okay?" Skye just groaned. ------------ Mina was still laughing. "Okay, okay. I'll stop with the poking until your properly fixed up then." ------------ "So does that mean we don't need to worry about crazy dreams anymore?" asked Ziona

"I'm.... I'm.. okay," Skye screamed at Tikal, which probably didn't sound very reassuring. Melody gave an involuntary shudder as it suddenly felt like she'd been give a mild electric shock, but she kept going. (ooc: Red and Crowley will probably get the same 'shock' as Melody just did, given their link to Skye, as the time de-syncing gets passed on.) --------------- "Just stop calling me a drunk and I'll stop," laughed Mina. ---------------- "I hope you're..." Ziona began, as she turned around, only to see the other in the hotel. "Oh, hello everyone. I see you dd make it!"

Melody spread out her arms and began reading the ritual words. Magical energy began following through the room and through the crystal sitting between Skye and Silver. Skye squirmed in pain as more energy flowed from the crystal towards him. -------------- "Hey," retorted Mina, jabbing Red in the ribs, which wasn't the smartest thing to do. "Have you seen me anywhere near a bottle. Sure, you've pulled my ass out of the fire countless times, but I've never done that!" -------------- "As long as they all got out safely."

I didn't think I'd be that hard...

*Claps* Well done, you got it. In Knuckle's story he appeared to be the big bad that Knux was chasing, only for it to turn out in the last level that mecha-sonic was behind everything.
