It's not tranmustion, though the two can overlap. It covers stuff like healing spells, boosting yourself or others, that kinda thing. Now... what spell to give you.... A healing one would be difficult to practice unless you keep injuring yourself. A spell to dull pain might be very dangerous if it went wrong. A stamina booster would be difficult to see if it worked or not. Ah!" Melody looked at Hope. "How about a strength boost spell? I know it might not seem useful, but with all the heavy machines you use it's bound to come in handy sometime. If only to make it easier and less wearing to carry your tools around the lab. Or to bring down a soldier a peg or too by beating him in an arm wrestling contest. Of course, if there's another spell you'd like..."

Max stirred and woke when Fluffy stroked him. "Fwffy nice," he said sleepily. Skye stood up, glancing at Fluffy remembering what she had said about trying not to be timid.. "I g-g-guess w-w're ready t-to g-go then!" he said.

"Yeah! We'll write hwim a stwory, thwen he can twell us a stwory!" said Skye. "What stwory shwall we write?" -------------- "SCREWING AROUND!!!!" screamed Harmony enraged. "YOU TRIED TO KILL TWO LITTLE KIDS!" ------------- "It's up to you, I don't mind, honestly," said Melody, settling herself down at a desk. "I guess it depends on whether you've a blank book around or not!"

"It will bwe, yeah," said Skye. "Dwid he say anwythwing ewlse?" -------- "YES? That's a;; you have to say Gleny? YES?" said Ziona, half amused half huffy. "Anyway, where are you? I thought I heard you shouting. Me, Skye and Dylan are up the biggest tree in the forest, and Miles is hiding down below." ------- Harmony dropped down, looking a little confused. "So are you guys actually trying to kill each other or what? Should I try to slit this guy's throat again, or leave you two to hug?" -------- "Bang on!" said Melody happily. She caught sight of her reflection in a nearby metal panel and giggled. "I better change back before someone starts asking why Mina is holding a concert at GUN HQ or something, she laughed, snapping her fingers and returning to normal. "Well, knowing you, I guess you want to do this... what was the phase... in a controlled manner was it? So, how about I go over what the different types of magic are AND..." Melody gave a large grin, "give you a spell or two to try from each type. You'll get your own spellbook. Though, I guess a hi-tech girl like you would prefer a spell PDA or something." ------------- "I'll do my best! As long as I can outrun her chair I'll be safe," laughed Anna.

"How dwo you know twill you've twried?" asked Skye with a grin. ----- Melody laughed. Transformation must be red because it freaks you out so much. Now, just to make sure you do have the hang of this..." Melody closed her eyes and intoned a spell. Her black fur lightened and changed to a yellow colour similar to Harmony's. "Have I used an illusion or a transformation?" asked Melody. In case Hope tried to cheat an answer with logic, Melody had cast a transformation spell, as illusions were easier.

"Great, now then..." Melody put the pencil on the table and, with a quick spell, an identical pencil appeared next to it. "This new pencil is an illusion. It's not really there," said Melody, poking her finger through it for emphasis. The she cast a spell on the original pencil, turning it into a wooden dice. "There you go. An illusion spell and a transformation spell. See if you can tell the difference. "

"That's a great start, spot on." said Melody happily. "Now we'll need to work out which colours you see different types of magic as. This amulet uses... Blast, I can't remember the actual name of this type, but it's about relegating and enhancing the futions of a person. Kinda close to transmutation but not quite. " Melody looked around. "Do you have a pencil for the next stage?"

"Anything?" asked Melody intrigued.

"Yeah. Now then, when you cast this spell you can either concentrate on a specific thing, or just get a feel of the area. For now... hmm, I know, try concentrating on the amulets that Skye gave us. If you get the spell right, you'll get a feeling of whether there is magic present, and how powerful it is. I, uh, can't explain it better than that, it's hard to explain the feeling." Melody finished writing on the paper and walked over to the other side of the lab, handing it to hope and pulling out her amulet so it was sitting on top of her t-shirt. "There's another element to the spell as well. You'll be able to tell the type of magic, or, at least, you will be able to once you know what each of the different magic feels likes. It will be tied into one of your senses. Sight is the most common, seeing magic stuff glowing different colours, but it might be different, like smell or taste. I 'hear' different notes depending on the type of magic," Melody explained.

You can still be a creepy enchantress on the good guy side!

Wow, that's really good. And, this might not be intentional, but I do get a slight 'creepy enchantress' vibe from her.

"Great. Okay then... Got a piece of paper for me to write the worlds on, and, erm... Maybe we shouldn't do it near the orb, just in case the strong reading overwhelms you until you're used to it," suggested Melody.

Melody laughed. "Don't worry. We haven't had any Milkshakes today so we should be fine. At least, I haven't! Have you? Stressful job and all that..." Melody teased.

"YeahYeahYeah! Plwaywing with magwic and machwines is rweally rweally fun. You shwould twry it Dwylan!" said Skye. -------------- 'Aren't I always?' thought Melody, clearly joking. 'Hmm, maybe this link is why we can teach each other so well.' "Actually," said out loud Melody glancing back at the orb, "do you want me to teach you a bit more magic now? Like that detect magic spell I just used on the Orb? It could be handy to know, and if I'm teaching you your Commander will have less reason to yell at us!"
