  1. Am I the only one getting a security warning when I go to Sonic Fan Games HQ ?

Weird, it almost seems like an intrusive ad but I guess it’s not accessible right now.

  2. So, concerning IDW's Back to the Future, latest issue was June 13th, and there doesn't seem to be any upcoming  issues after the next trade paperback in August as it is absent of their September solicitations, nor any mention of hiatus, cancellation or conclusion, there's just nothing. Has anyone any idea on what's going on ?

  3. Interesting, now they are teasing Sonic Mania Plus in the end credits of Sonic Mania Adventures, maybe we should keep an eye on that.

Actually already revealing a bit in episode 2, as I noticed Encore Flying Battery has Wing Fortress color palette. So since the outside will most likely look exactly like Wing Fortress, do you think they'll also change the zone name and the music ?

  4. It begins, first issue is released on Comixology.

Actually it began last week. There were some early issues given out at a con.

Will it be posted here? (Not like I could see it)

  5. I'm really surprised no one has mentioned the comics are back on the website yet. Don't tell me I'm the only one who noticed, that's impossible.

I think I've found the problem, when I look at the news page, I'm apparently not signed in, but when I switch back to the forums page I am. Also when I try to sign in from the news page, it doesn't work. Is this something I need to contact the Admins about?

Actually you can't access them from the forum, you either have to be on the news or gallery pages. Can you sign in from the gallery Katmuffin ?

  6. I found a proof that Christian Whitehead's remasters of Sonic 1 and 2 were also supposed to be released on PC, or at least Christian wanted them to be. If you connect a PS4 controller, and you press "X" (probably "A" for XBOX ONE) on the main menu, a popup will appear and ask you to confirm if you want to quit the game. This clearly has no reason to exist in a game not supposed to be released on PC. You can always count on Sega to take the worst decisions.

Well that’s a shame, I for one would’ve liked to have played those on PC.

  7. It's official guys, Ian Flynn is confirmed to write the IDW Sonic comics. It'll launch on April 2018 for a special event with the first four issues being released in the span of four weeks.

As a company that received our money, (and quite a lot from me when the "hiatus" started) I think they owe us at least an official statement coming directly from themselves, not others. We don't even need details, just an announcement. You may not agree with me, but in my opinion, this is a total lack of honesty. And it turns out that one of the antonyms of "honest" is "untrustworthy". Have you considered the possibility that there might be people who've read the comic that are still waiting to know if it'll continue or not ?

    3. Danny Felixe

      Danny Felixe

What would be the point of an official statement? Anything they say is either 1: Already been said. 2: Not allowed to be said. Or 3: None of our business. And as for have I considered there may be people still waiting? Yes. And I highly doubt if they cared that much they wouldn't do a quick google search to find 'oh. It's cancelled'. If they haven't realised then they really don't care enough to be looking this up on the many places that have said it

I just feel like people treat Ian Flynn or Archie as a whole as some kind of devil worshipping cult when it's not. Maybe I would if I had paid a subscription or something but I doubt I would be as mad as I keep seeing people being. It's a business. And there are certainly bigger businesses out there that have done much worse and are less honest than Archie that don't get this kind of hatred. And that's what really bothers me

This will be my final point on the matter. This is supposed to be good news advertised and it's kind of turned into some petty argument from what was supposed to be a joke about SEGA not liking the reboot and so forcing another. I do take partial blame for that and so I'm going to stop replying here

I have missed most of this discussion but as someone who bought the comics every month I can honestly say AI am mad at Sega and Archie but I do not hate them at all. All I wish to do is give the new comic a chance to earn my support as Ian Flynn did.

I'm speechless. From this day, I don't have sympathy towards Archie anymore. Apparently, they've been suing anyone they found using the name Veronica publicly for years. Greedy douche bags, no wonder they never wanted to discuss copyrights with Penders, everything belongs to them.

Ah, glad to see this. They actually dropped the claims after discovering David Sams' was really about his daughter. Considering what other Veronica they had to face as described in the article, you kinda understand why they freaked out. And apparently I was wrong, it was just a website trademark, not a name trademark.

  9. So, we know that Classic Sonic learned how to boost from his future self. I guess we can qualify it as a bootstrap paradox now. So, how do you think Sonic originally got the idea of that move ? Who really composed Beethoven's fifth ?

      Chapmic

Yeah, maybe, because the Doctor didn't know the idea of the fake ghost was from his future self until he came up with the idea himself. That's probably the difference. Predestination is when the time traveler acts directly on the past in plain sight, and bootstrap is when he acts in the shadows (no pun intended), and no one else knows. Well, maybe except the Beethovens.

    3. Skye Prower

      Skye Prower

Er, noooo... Why would bootstrap have anything to with working in the shadows? It's when there's a time loop that has no beginning. It doesn't matter if it's behind the scenes or in plain sight.

    4. Chapmic

      Chapmic

So is predestination paradox. But now I think I see what you mean, bootstrap is when the time traveler is assuming the role of someone who doesn't actually exist. While the loop has no origin, do you think it is possible to break it ?

  10. Comixology is so great, I can legally get any issue I want in France now. But I will still download from the website to continue my personal chronological edit.

Of course we already had the Archie app, but I also want to read them on my computer.

  11. The last tiny hope to see Half-Life return was killed by a movie. Someone made a movie called Half-Life that has nothing to do with Half-Life. Despite the plans of an official one, this just proved that Valve doesn't care anymore, since they didn't do anything about it and just let it happen. It's over. T_T

    1. NegaMetallix

      NegaMetallix

...And? There are tons of movies that share names with video games, yet have nothing in common. This doesn't affect games at all.

    2. Chapmic

      Chapmic

The problem is J.J. Abrams was supposed to make the official Half-Life movie. Him and Gabe Newell revealed this a while ago. So why would they let this happen if they really care about it ? I tell you, Valve now cares about Half-Life as much as SEGA cares about Sonic. To the point they even allow awful mods being sold.

  12. I was thinking. Since there is that desert image of the deleted Sonic CD Zone, doesn't that mean the Dust Hill Zone mock up was actually for Sonic CD and not Sonic 2 ?

    1. JacobMaltiseChaisel

      JacobMaltiseChaisel

Yes and no. The image that was in the 2011 remake was actually from a version of that zone that would have been implemented into CD, but it originally was intended for Sonic 2. It's hard to say what game it was truly intended for however because of the fact that Sonic CD and Sonic 2 were both in development at roughly the same time, hence why Sonic CD has a rougher version of the spin dash.

  13. Are the release dates on Mobius Encyclopedia still reliable ? They say Sonic Universe 82 was released three days ago.

The digital version came out very briefly back in November/December (long enough for someone to upload it here), but was removed and rescheduled for this month. Same with Sonic #279.

    3. NegaMetallix

      NegaMetallix

Either way, things should be getting back on track for Archie's releases. I'm pretty sure that Eggman’s Dozen should begin by the end of this month.

Ah, that makes more sense now. Thanks.

  14. So, is there any explanation to the one week delayed release of issue 275 ?

It would have been nice if they could have mixed up that character banter heavy story with this one, so we had two better mixed issues as opposed to two rather flat ones.

  15. I'm raging right now. Our effing corrupted mayor, who cheated on his election, won the lawsuit against him despite all the evidences that were as hard as stone. I lost all respect to the (in)justice.

    1. Chapmic

      Chapmic

For short, the verdict was made without taking account of the evidences. He even went to the Elysée to get bumped by the government. The French Republic is dead again.
