Sonic the Hedgehog (2019 Movie)
RaeLogan replied to Shadow's topic in Multiverses of Sonic the Hedgehog
All I ask is that it's not some sort of "reboot" or origin story. We all know the characters. All of us who are going to see it already know the establish universe and rules. We don't need another recap of the basic lore. It should be something that is an all new original story of sorts that uses the basic collective lore and such, that way we avoid another one of those "CGI Remakes of Retro Favorites" things. Y'know what I mean? Look what happened with Dragon Ball and Avatar when those got Live Action/CGI remakes/retellings. Yee-uck. -
Took a bit of excessive effort, but I have all the current characters unlocked. All without ever dropping a cent or using my Red Rings :D Amy... who I spent the better part of an hour trying to get a good in air shot that didn't flash me... which was very impossible with that dress and I really think Sega needs to give her shorts to wear in games like this. Shame... She can be a cool character sometimes when they aren't playing up the whole "love sick puppy" thing. -_-

Just did this one today. Basically stemmed from my declaration that I was thinking of creating the "Mephicks" pairing tag, as I decided to ship them on a Meta sense, being as they both originate from a debuting game that scored very low on things (as the "Sonic Boom" games are being called worse than Sonic 06, but I haven't got that game, although I really like the "Sonic Boom" cartoon so far), and Sticks really appealed to me when the episode "Buster" aired... as the whole situation really reminded me of my old dog, Jak, who was a stray elderly chihuahua I found on the streets that was covered in yuck and all that... Anyway, I used my fan design for Boom!Mephiles (I posted that one earlier in the thread), which was made up about the time the series designs were being shown off. This is the first time I've drawn Sticks, and the part that really gave me trouble with her was the tied off fur pig tails things... The basic idea of the image here is that Boom!Mephiles managed to get stuck in a trap Sticks must have set, much to his annoyance. I was going to have her poking him with her boomerang, but I felt that him being hung upside down was enough as it was. XD All done in MSPaint with my tablet, I also saved a few of the in progress stages, like sketchy form, lines, and just them colored.

I did my OC in a sort of Sonic Boom ish style. :D

For me, it's a toss up between: Dragon Ball Z (first anime I actively remember watching, and only extremely long anime that I saw all the episodes for) Tenchi Puella Magi Madoka Magica Wolf's Rain Spice and Wolf Soul Eater Naruto (The earlier episodes, before the convoluted "Sasuke left to go with Orochimaru" bull) KuroPoopuji (I usually don't use the English title, as my sister and I used to watch it all the time before it was dubbed) Zatch Bell I had a fun time watching all of these, so it's hard to pinpoint which is the one that's the top one to me. Inu-Yasha was good from the episodes I caught, Hamtaro was cute, I have some episdoes and mangas of Yu Yu Hakusho, MÄR was interesting and I have some of the mangas.

Alrighty, so a thread for Non-Sonic Art? Oh boy! Lemmie share some of mine :D Technically, this is kinda "Sonic Art" thing, but it pertains to a rather convoluted story between two of my OCs (derivatives of Mephiles that people really like and keep asking for more stories) that start out a normal hedgehog and a shadow. It's way too hard to explain simply, but if you read my fanfics and watch their Tumblr Ask Blog (with has the two of them, and a derivative OC of Iblis), it seems to be a bit more understandable. The shortest way to explain it is that I split Mephiles the Dark into two personas (Mephy and Dark) years ago, put them in the care of Shadow and Rouge (much to Shadow's initial displeasure, as most of the events of Sonic 06 do exist in that AU) some people felt that it was a better alternative to the Predator!Mephiles that was common in fanfics at the time, giving a story free of raunchy content, and offered a totally retooled backstory to character(s), with the earlier chapters being dismissed as "early installment weirdness", and the later chapters receiving tons of fanart illustrations from readers. That aside, the idea of this was to use the silhouettes in this for a short video I was doing... The art style shapes are what I use for making cartoony hedgehogs that don't look like Sonic style...

I swear I tried to comment on this five times on my iPod, and it kept crashing. I guess even my device can't handle the absurdity of Penders. XD His main problem is that he tries too hard to shoehorn human anatomy into something not human. Here's an example I scribbled up just now that would have been less terrifying than what that render is: (With disclaimer, since he seems to throw a fit when people don't credit his creations...) I used a color pallet from the 3D render, but I feel that maybe this might work with a few tweaks... I also tried to keep the render's outfit, since I don't do well at designing new outfits on the spot. But the form fitting aspect might be a good concept, as it leaves less to be caught on something by accident in combat. I don't want to rip off the outfit that she was sporting before her erasure from the Sonic Archie canon, either... Shortening the torso and legs, thickening the limbs, make the feet a bit more like they can actually support the body (also lose the high heels on the shoes, since I can't see anyone being able to walk with those things with the jobs Lien-Da has). Also, maybe give the fingers a bit of a claw-like look, as actual echidnas have those, and I think he should be trying to drop some of the original connections to Knuckles. The nose can be better done as a snout that is closer to an actual echidna than a Sonic-Echidna. Lose the lipstick. There's no need for that. A female doesn't always need to have make up on her to show she's a chick. Keep the eye shadow, maybe... that's not too bad of an idea. Fix the body: Don't put too much emphasis on the chest and "slender form". Girls come in all shapes and sizes, and being stocky is just fine. Given that she's a solider, she's bound to have built up a bit of bulk from fighting, so she should look as though she's got a bit of muscle from the exercise. Maybe, now that I have an afterthought, give a few visible scars to show that she's a seasoned fighter, as I'm sure she's gotten a few over the years. Now, I'm not a professional by any stretch of the imagination, but I at least have an eye for color pallets and have a basic idea of "You don't make terrifying noodle monsters with teeth unless you intend to make terrifying noodle monsters with teeth"

Aw, thank you! :D I do fanart a lot, and I have the most fun with the Sonic style itself. ^w^ Here's a few more for ya: (Chibi Mephiles in a Solaris Phase 1 Hoodie. I tend to make Mephiles as cute as possible. XD )

Here's a few of my doodles and such (I tend to use Mephiles a lot, just as a warning) : (Had an extra Shadow figure, repainted it into Mephiles with some toothpicks)

I met the guy a few times during a few conventions. In fact, I bought my first Sonic comic from him (Issue #157). He didn't seem too bad to me at first, so I have several items signed by him from all the times I came across him, one of which is a free print I got for buying another comic, which was for his failed comic "The Lost Ones", which I recall him pushing the plot pretty enthusiastically. But I have to say, the funniest thing I have to add about him is this: He sold me this comic at one of his tables, then signed it. Being that at the time, the Archie booth had issues that were about a couple years newer than this one, and it's a Milestone Issue that I needed, then I bought it with no thought, as I was on a collecting spree at the convention, and I had missed out on getting this one before, and had the issues set before and after it. Seems harmless enough... Except I found out shortly after that he was off the staff at least 15 issues before this one. And Ian Flynn was the writer of this. He sold me a comic that he had nothing to do with, and wrote on it. The subtitle on the cover ("The Unthinkable Happens") just makes this seem even funnier than it is.

Hi, I'm RaeLogan, goes by the name of "Rae" online. Lifelong Sonic fan, self proclaimed "expert" on Sonic 06, one of the original Mephiles the Dark fangirls, and your neighborhood friendly dork ball. Came to the site for the comic downloads, but feel like I should do the courtesy of sticking around to talk with fellow fans. :D
