Sounds nice. I've had absolutely no snow yet so I'm pretty jealous

Ah, hope you get some soon! I'm super excited since this is the first time I've seen this much snow since I was about 10 years old (14 years ago).

I just moved back somewhere where it actually snows after living in Alabama for the last 12 years.

Lucky you. I lived in Norway for 12 years. You'd think it would snow there a lot. But certainly in the later years you perhaps got 2 or 3 days of real snow each year. Not nearly enough

  2. Your Favorite Boss Fights

That's hard to say, but mine would probably have to be from Secret of Mana (SNES). The Mana Beast. For one, because of his spoilerific identity. Two, it was actually a challenging fight, considering in that game you can only hold 4 of each item. And since theres only one item that revives your characters when they die, you have to use the 4 you can carry carefully. Also, you had to use your MP wisely for that fight, as you only got the 4 MP restoration items as well. And three, it had a really epic soundtrack. Not just for the final boss, but really, the whole game. If you've never played it, it's definitely worth checking into. It's actually up to three players!
  3. Pokemon White 2 / Black 2

Of course, with X and Y being out now, I'm playing X more (that's the version I got). But before them, I was mostly playing White 2. That was the first version since Silver for GBC that I actually completed the pokedex on, if only just to get the Shiny Charm item. Using that, I was finally able to breed my most coveted pokemon ever, a shiny Sealeo. I know he's not that good of a pokemon, but he's my very top favorite pokemon, out of every generation. At least he was, until Meowstic came around (the male version that is, he's just too cute!) I really liked the story of B/W and B/W2 though. By pokemon standards anyway, it seems like they were actually trying for a change, and it felt like more than just "beat gym leaders, become champion, the end". I liked that the gym leaders themselves actually had a role in the story (albeit a minor one). That's the one thing I've really wanted all along, is for them to actually be as important as the series makes them out to be. But they went back to being nobodys in X/Y. I don't even remember half the gym leaders in those versions.
  4. So glad I'm off the next two nights. We're expecting a big snow in our area, and our boss is anticipating power outages, which will yield a LOT of hungry customers. Glad I won't be part of the chaos.

Apparently, there's a giant snowstorm headed my way too. They're saying 40-50 cm., but I think that's a bit of an overestimation.

Yeah, I'd first heard that it was around 6 inches or so that was expected; now they're saying more like 12". I think that's a bit much, but we'll probably get some anyway.

  5. About Sonic Universe...

I didn't think this should go in the main topic, so I just made a new one, since I have a quick question. I'm just starting reading the Archie comics. I'd read a few of them waaaaay back in the day as my brother was collecting them, but we never got anywhere close to all of them. In any case, what I wanted to know is, are the Sonic Universe comics a separate canon from the main Archie comic series? Or is it like a companion series that ties into the main one, like the Sally and Tails (and other) miniseries? I'm just wondering, because I'm kinda excited to read about Silver and Blaze and some of the newer characters that are in that one, but I didn't know if I should finish the main series first. I can only guess that it'll be pretty obvious once I get that far, since the comics advertise the upcoming issues pretty well. It makes the intended order become clear, if you just keep reading them. Also, another random question, irrelevant to the first: when was the first Sonic Universe released? I had seen one or two of them in my local bookstore before, a few years ago, and it was only about 30 or so issues in then. I was just wondering how new it was. (I really am out of the loop when it comes to the comics.)

Ah yeah, King Dedede. I love the Kirby series. Especially Dreamland 3. That was my favorite for some reason. And yeah, Yugioh got pretty stupid after a while. I liked the first couple seasons (even GX was actually pretty good, after giving it a chance), but the card games on motorcycles thing, that WAS pretty awful. The actual new types of cards are pretty neat in the real game, but the show they came from is just bad. And I do remember Darkwing Duck, very vaguely. It's been a loooooooong time since I've seen that show! I was just a duckling then! (lol)
  7. About Sonic Universe...

To Shadow, I guess if you only read Sonic Universe, and not the main series, and weren't too confused by it, then it really won't matter when I read it. I guess I can just read it however I will. Thanks for the input! To MetalSkulkBane, thanks for the list! That should help a lot! Especially when it comes to the Megaman crossover. I'm actually weirdly excited about reading that. The order looks a little confusing, but with that list it should be no problem. Thanks!
  8. Oh no! Where'd Tails go? He's not on the banner anymore?!

  9. Your Favorite Digimon?

For me, it's gato be Gatomon! (Sorry, I couldn't help it!) But before her it was Patamon. I just liked his design for some reason. I think I just like things with big cute ears. And out of the season two guys, I really like Armadillomon for some reason. I think I have a secret liking for armadillos, maybe.

Nah, can't say I had that misfortune. Although they did want to name my brother Dennis and some middle name with a D so his initials would be "3D". But then they didn't. My first initial is A though, so my name is literally A. Duck. Thanks! I think I will like it here. Everyone here seems to be pretty laid back, for the most part. And the funny thing about calling me "Darkwing", is that playing Yugioh cards is another one of my side hobbies, and my favorite deck that I use is of the "Blackwing" monsters, that are all based on crows. And since Blackwing sounds similar to Darkwing...well you get the idea.
  11. Hmm, just watched the Sonic Boom trailer....why are people so upset about this? I'm excited for Sonic Colors levels of wit! I think it will be good. Plus, i mostly like the redesigns.

I can understand that, I guess. I saw my brother play Secret Rings, and I'll admit the gameplay didn't look that great. And when I first heard of Unleashed, I was a bit turned off by the werewolf idea, but that one ended up being really fun!

And look at the Sonic Rush games, they were great! But I guess people see those more as going back to classic gameplay than something new though.

I'm all for some good humour, but Sonic Colours... wasn't that funny, in my opinion.

  12. Introduction Thread

Hey guys! I'm new, obviously. Not new to sonic though, been a fan since the first game. Well, actually, I was a year old when the first game came out, so Sonic 2 was the first one I really played for real. I used to be Tails and get in the way of my brother a lot. So about me, I just turned 24 a couple weeks ago. I love crocheting as a hobby, although I don't do it a whole lot anymore. I got my first job last June (sad at this age, I know), and I stay super busy at that. I work the night shift at a gas station-restaurant that's open 24/7. Even on Christmas. And New Year's. Both of which I had to work. And it was RIDICULOUS. But enough about that, as far as the Sonic franchise goes, Tails was always my favorite character, but when Shadow came along, he became a very close second, if not tied for first. I also really like Blaze. I never really paid the Rush games any attention when they first came out, but a few years ago I was reading about them and decided to give them a try. They were great, with classic style gameplay and a pretty good story by Sonic standards. The second one was even better. I also like Silver, for a reason I'm not even sure about. I think at this point in my life, I just relate to his insecurity. I've lived with my brother for so long, that I'm only just now getting out on my own in life, and it's kinda hard to adjust to being alone now. But before I get too off topic; I haven't actually playin '06 yet, but I watched Pokecapn's "let's play" of it on youtube. It was just great on so many levels. Well, I guess that's all I have to say about me for now. I picked Bean as my picture, because he's a duck. And my actual last name is Duck. So it works. Also, I read his page on the sonic wiki, and everything about him sounds hilarious, and he likes shiny things apparently, which I also do. I'm fascinated by shiny things. P.S. I'll admit that the main reason I came here was because I REALLY wanted to read the comics. My brother used to buy them, but we never got anywhere near all of them, so I've never really got to read them. But I'd feel like a jerk if I never tried to be a part of the community at all. So hopefully y'all will see me around sometimes.
