Few words: I know that SU 50 isn't really that much of a arc, my next fave is from Shadow Saga, but just issues 1 and 3. The closest thing to fave arc nr.5 would Knuckles: The Return. It was fun to see someone but Penders write Knuckles story and I sure wouldn't mind seeing it again. Now, my next list exclude characters form the games, because I feel that I would properly separate feelings from games and from comics. I will say that Archie made Mighty and Ray into great characters, largely upgraded already good Sonic and Amy and they continue to make Eggman and Omega great. And now, without further ado my Top 10 Archie Heroes. 10 Zonic the Zone Cop - So he isn't really that much of a character, but... hey its a Sonic as dimensional policeman who walks on walls. I'm a sucker for unusual concepts. I like taking cheesy insane ideas like dimension where everybody's name starts with Z and just go with them. It keeps story from becoming too serious, which is a big issue in modern days of comic books. 9 Nathaniel "Nate" Beauregard Morgan - Nate's life wasn't good. Twice he tried to help and twice he was exiled. Still found enough compassion to save and befriend wild creature. He died as he lived- paying terrible consequences for his good deeds. You got to admire that. Also we can't forget that he wore Power Ring - powered laser glasses and his best friend was cyborg-yeti with flame-thrower for an arm. If that isn't awesome, I don't know what is. 8 Jules Hedgehog -I really like parents and parental figures in this comic. For example I like Lara-Le: she's really sweet and caring character who really goes out of her way to help her son. I also like Uncle Chuck, probably thanks to "Tales of the Great War" where we not only learned that poor guy was convinced that he was responsible for robotisation of both Sonic's parents for quite a while, but also that even if he knew how much of a monster Robotnik was from the the first day they met, he would still save him. But then, my favorites shoved up: Sonic's parents. From fighting in great war to basically telling off Ixis flippin Naugus to just being great parents these guys are awesome. I also liked that time when they were robotisized: while in Marvel comics X-men are still universally hated, I find idea that all Mobians could live with Robians in peace to be rather refreshing change. Obviously there is one reason while I like Jules more that any other mentioned character:Issue 192, Jules vs Scourge, Nuff Said. 7 Dimitri - Lets just say I really like tragic scientists. Sure he made a good villain, but Dimitri didn't become that good character until regained his sanity and suffered massive guilt trip. From respected member of community to mad god to flying bubble, he lost everything, and now he just wants to help his kind and atone. Issues 221 and 222 are absolute highlights of his story. 6 Mina Mongoose - Best thing about Mina is how flawed and realistic character she is. She has the same powers as Sonic, but lacks skill to successfully use them, so she becomes a musician. She can't get a hero of Mobius to become her boyfriend, so she moves on and dates less-that-perfect but still good guy. She has a solid character development, from shy and helpless to more energetic and helpful. She teaches us an important lesson: to appreciate what you have, when you can't have what you want. 5 Lara-Su - Seeing how she appears in my second and third favorite SU arc this should be obvious. But why do I like her? I dunno. Her design is pretty neat, I like that she's skilled with her powers, how she works as guardian and royal babysitter, that she main character of timeline that I like so much. Aand that it I guess. 4 Rotor the Walrus - Not tragic, but a scientist, and that a start. To best describe his awesomeness I would suggest reading StH 119 where he tries to tries to hack Nicole and StH 48 where he shoots Robotnik with his huge gun at point-blank range. I like smart characters and first story is great example what's so interesting about them: need to explore unknown, to solve the unsolvable, and ability to better themselves, learn from all experiences, even failures. Second part is obvius: Rotor is much more of a action hero that most people give him credit for. There is a reason they called him "Boomer" 3 Bunnie Rabbot-D'Coolette - She's a cyborg Bunnie with Southern accent, do I need more reasons? OK, I like pun in her name, is that enough? Of course not. From the first issue, Bunnie defeated giant badnik and expressed desire to become hairdresser, already making her more useful and developed that half of the team. Generally, she one of friendliest and toughest characters in book, at that's always good thing in my book. Her relations with Antoine and her uncle sure don't do damage to my good opinions. 2 Antoine D'Coolette - To fully understand, why I like him so much, you have to understand how much I hate Antoine Depardieu from Satam. Pathetic coward, who somehow got taken for almost every mission and stole screentime from better characters, like Bunnie. Or Rotor. Or Cluck. Or grass. In comics? From start, he got sword and skill to use it. StH 10 he saved team. StH 23 he proved he was smarter that most give him credit. StH 46 he punched Geoffrey. StH 204 he exchanged blows with Iron Khan. And recently after quite nice performance in courtroom, issue 234 happened. We all remember that one. In short, dude is just plain awesome. And we can't forget that unlike Sonic with his attitude, Antoine is suave gentleman, good cook, and caring husband proving that you don't need to be "radical" to be awesome. Sometimes badassery comes from where you least expect it. 1 King Elias Acorn - To be honest I don't really care about Sally and anything that could've been interesting about her was put into Elias. Every new writer did something right with him. I always felt that Elias is right combination of smarts, bravery, and charisma that no other Acorn could pull off. But the most interesting thing about him is his burden. He could be dealing with Geoffrey, Amadeus, or even Naugus - either way his choices are never easy. As a king, his choices affect all characters, its a responsibility he never asked for and never wanted. And yet before certain hack of a writer sued Archie, we saw Elias fighting to reclaim his crown and all duties connected to it. A brave man, capable of putting other people needs first, and my favorite Archie exclusive hero.

Watch Sonic vs Mario http://www.screwattack.com/shows/originals/death-battle/death-battle-mario-vs-sonic Or Shadow vs Vegeta http://www.screwattack.com/shows/originals/death-battle/death-battle-vegeta-vs-shadow Or Eggman vs Wily http://www.screwattack.com/shows/originals/death-battle/death-battle-eggman-vs-wily -
Wendy Withcart and her goons from obscure Tails and Sky Patrol game are at this point the only classic Sonic characters that never appeared in comics (unless you count bean people from Robotnik Mean Bean Machine). The question is simple: Is there is any use for them? Do they have any potential? Of course there is problem that Connery suppose to kill all evil magic users, so she would have to come from other dimension, or be changed to technomant (which would kinda makes sense? Maybe some relation to Iron Queen?). There also fact that in games she never really used magic, so she's either Oz type of character or completely nuts. Then there is problem that her people (Fockewulf, Bearanger and Carriotia) would just feel like cheap Babylon Rouges knock-offs, since all they do is flying in their rocket-thingies. I woudnt really like to see them as reccuring characters just cause they're SEGA, but maybe as one time bad guys for the sake of giving Tails another story? Why not?

Sonic Boom (Cartoon)

Ahh, so by "turn out like pony" you meant just that: cute and kiddy...Somehow I didnt consider it. Sure, Polsky did Ponies, but also South Park so I woudnt be worried about style of writing. I feel that show wont be an anime, and americans always prefered their Sonic a little badass. That why we have Eggman/Robotnik wars. So, yeah I still dont consider that. At worst it would be like Adventures of Sonic and that you watch, right people? Though I would be disappointed if it wont be at least Ben 10 level of seriousness. That demotivator...ugh. I actually had a conversation with one Archie hater once. He made more sense that I expected and conversation went well, untill I asked why he faved that one. He explained that now Sega characters are closer to their game counterparts, so Eggman shouldn't be a psycho. Arguments that Knuckles and Amy are more level headed than in games and that we cant just ignore continuity did nothing. I had to end conversation to keep my sanity. -
Sonic Boom (Cartoon)

Dudem you know why current My Little Pony cartoon is popular? Because its preety good for a show about ponies. And people dont hate because its stupid or anything but because its about ponies, and because of "bronies". So, what do you mean by "not turn out like little pony"? That it wont be better and more popular that its' predecessors? Really it was stupid idea to mention those ponies, they're not related to subject and we should just drop it. My thoughts about show? I've been waiting long time for show based on Sonic in modern time, now that they have all those characters so they wont have to start world from scratch (and grounder ;-) ). By any luck by more comedic style they mean something like "Ben 10: Omniverse". It sure would be awesome if they used Archie characters. Still we have to wait for more informations, at least a picture with desings would be nice. (Not to mention confirm that whole thing is real) Otherwise I dont have much to say. -
Sonic Lost World

If anyone cares, Six's names were revealed and they all sound as if they run away from No Zone; Red brute is Zavok, pink and lean is Zazz, green girl is Zeena, blue and old is Zik, fat yellow is Zomom, and white goth is Zok, and I just realised that he's a dude. I will be really suprised if these guys turn out to be cool. -
I giving my turn away to anybody that wants it.

Mario and Sonic at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games 2014
MetalSkulkBane_PL replied to Shadow's topic in Multiverses of Sonic the Hedgehog
Ugh, yet another one? Seriously thats becoming Sonic's longest series and that just embarassing. If anything I hope they will come up with something new and original. But then again, this is Mario game... -
Yes.
-
I think I'll go for another of Penders obsurities. Once a loyal servant to king, I stayed for many years on Floating Island after my failure to protect his family.
-
Correct. Suprise, suprise. Your turn.

I am freedom fighter, but Sonic is my enemy, unlike most freedom fighters my teammates werent named in their first apperance. Despite rough nature me and my team are tributes to classic cartoon charactrers.

Like first ever? Trey Scales.

Honestly Shade to Julie-Su is as different as possible while being homage. Female Echidna leaves evil technological team for good guys? True. BUT hot pink - soft orange cyborg - techno suit gun - blades related to bad guy, but low level minion - right hand of not related to her bad guy no pants - full bodysuit messy hair - headband hot headed and brash - disciplined and noble And remember both characters should belong to Sega. Marvel and DC are rivals and yet nothing like that ever happen. On related subject: I edited my post that lists Penders characters about 5 times by now and with Sleuth Dawg I'm pretty sure I've covered every character that anybody could care about. With that to guide you I present you a simple qestion: wchich characters you will be miss and which not? It seems like obvious question, but my time on internet taught that some people can get insanely attached to backgroung characters like Drago, Barby, Hershey, or Sojourner to the point to calling them their favourite characters. One guy even said that he stopped reading Archie comics beause of death of Ancient Walkers! So I'm curious about your thoughts.
-
Correct! Yes, in games he's just G.U.N. Commander but in comics he was named Abraham Tower. Good job.
-
Hm, cant see a thing. Yes I did clicked on it
-
I'm from the games, but I was named in comics. Who am I?
-
..OK....<hour later>.....<2 hours>.....<shrugs>.... I dunno Sally? No idea.
