So last year, Sega made a somewhat unexpected move in the franchise by trying to return the gameplay of the much beloved games of ye olde time~ (much like Nintendo and Capcom had done previously with New Super Mario Bros. and Mega Man 9, to great commercial and critical success). Thus began Project Needlemouse, as it was known in the beginning, which promised to return to the roots of the series as had been established back in the 90's games, meaning back to the simple plots with Eggman as the main and sole villain, the 2D gameplay without any of the cluttering game styles that plagued the 3D games, the colourful environments that had been associated with the series, and a focus on Sonic as the only playable character, dropping the riff-raff characters such as Shadow, Big etc. It should also be interesting thing to note about Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is that it is also the first game in the series to be released entirely in digital form instead of in retail, and is also the first time that Sega have ever made an episodic Sonic the Hedgehog game, meaning that the game is still an ongoing project with only the first episode having seen release so far (with a currently unspecified number of episodes to follow). This means there is potential in the future for both the gameplay and the story to go in different directions... And with that, I ask people to share their opinions on Sonic 4 Episode 1 in it's current state, and perhaps share any hopes or expectations for the coming episodes.

I've extended the Homing Attack page now to include Sonic 3D, SA, SA2, Heroes, Brawl and Sonic 4 so far. Only appearances I think are still needed are Shadow, 06, Secret Rings, Black Knight, Unleashed, Colour, Generations and any portable appearances (Rushes and Rivals for example). What other pages are most in need of expanding after this one?

Recently rumours have surfaced on the news site TSSZ of the next Sonic the Hedgehog game to take place after Sonic Generations, titled Sonic Dimensions, which is said to be a project for the upcoming Nintendo Wii U. Interesting things to note about this rumour is the mention of there actually being staff from Nintendo assisting the team who worked on Sonic Colours. Below is the Rumour. The original link to this rumour is Here. So until we receive official confirmation of this game, what are people's thoughts and opinions on the matter? Personally I'm skeptical of this, as Generations has barely just finished development and started being released so its perhaps too soon to begin announcing anything like this, though at the same time the premise of the game somewhat interests me simply for the potential it holds both gameplay-wise and story-wise (as it reminds me of the other recently-released Nintendo game, Kirby Mass Attack, which looks to be a fun title).

That doesn't look half bad Vladik. :) Anyway as for me, I prefer to stick to plain little sketches and doodles, mainly because I find that to be more fun (and also because I don't currently have any idea on how best to colour any of my pictures). I typically tend to sketch characters from either Sonic, Mario or Kirby, though since the topic only calls for Sonic images I'll just post a little batch of Sonic sketches I did a while ago as practice. :P
