"I promise." Rouge began to laugh. "That'd be a sight to see. They'd probably arrest Locke for causing widespread panic."

"And you have no idea how nice it is for someone to actually trust you. Given my line of work I'm not exactly popular. Most people just assume I'm out to get them. And don't worry about the others, we can straighten everything out. As long as they haven't called the cops and plastered photos of you all over town I think we'll be ok. Locke doesn't seem the type to overreact anyway."

"No problem Melody. It's what I'm here for."

"They won't blame you. If they disapprove just say it was my idea. I can handle the flak."

"I say bring it up Melody. That way he has the choice of going now, after the holiday's over, or not at all."

"Ok. You talk to Skye about it and I'll give Hope a call when we get back to the hotel."

"Ok that's fine by me. I hope he's in better spirits now." "Neither Crowley nor I are particularly fond of nightclubs."

"I out argue Shadow because I usually have what he wants, and I can always try to charm him. He's far better at making a rousing statement to get people on board than me." "No I'm not hungry. I just meant there's no point us going to a restaurant if we're not gonna eat. We'd be better off at a bar in that case."

"Depends. Do you guys want to eat as well?"

"Very well. What are we waiting for?"

"That makes sense. And I know it doesn't make your situation any happier, but know we're all here to help you stand out, however you choose to do that. It's possible Locke and Red might not be happy about some choices you make along the way, but they'll have to accept they're your choices and not their's. And I'm sure Shadow or I will bail you out if need be. He can usually make a sound argument."

"Even if you are does it really matter? You still have the same thoughts and feelings. You aren't any less real than me."

"Can't say I blame either of you for wanting to get the hell out of there. I shudder to think what happens if you're still inside when it's totally collapsed."

"Of course. I can only imagine what that must have been like for you. Shadow's told me what happened, but that doesn't begin to describe it."

"Haha they would make a great team. Unless they got competitive and started trying to build the craziest gizmo. Then the second part might happen."

"I see your point. Good idea, I'll have a chst with her. I'm sure she can sort something out for you both if you wanted."

"I doubt they'll fight as much. But you never know. And well I guess I can't help the way I look. I like feeling good about myself, unfortunately the creeps like the view. I'm just lucky Shadow is around to calm me down. I'm actually surprised I was undisturbed at the beach earlier."

"If you ever have to get into a fight know your weapon and be proficient with it, as Shadow says. There will be times in your life where you may have to fight. That knife could one day save your life. Even if you never need to use it, keep it as a reminder. That you'll always have Skye there for you when it counts. As for that whole control thing, I just meant keep in mind when it is and isn't a good idea to pull out your knife. Fighting with your siblings is a normal part of growing up. Gradually you do it less and less apparently. I'd never know, being an only child. Maybe Hope could help you with the voice. Something so small you'd never realise it's there to alter your pitch slightly or something. Just enough to let you go about your business like a regular person. That must be a nice feeling. Not having eyes staring at you everywhere you go." Rouge sounded bitter at the end.

"I know what you mean Melody. You don't need to shred everything of your past life away. That knife for example. You've obviously grown attached to it. At heart you seem to be a fighter. There's nothing wrong with that. You just need to train to control yourself. I won't lie. All these things take time. But the earlier you start the earlier you'll be finished. As for going outside. Well that is harder. A simple change of hairstyle would make you blend in. It's your voice that's harder to mask. I just wish there was something I could do to help you."

"Haha it sounded pretty good. Sorry. I kinda forgot we were on Angel Island. Ever since Shadow found that huge one I always associate the beach with sharks. And giant squids. But that's a different matter. Oh look at me rambling too. Let's go." They both then headed down to the beach.

"What's confused you about sharks? And I'll gladly come with you." "No let's leave them. I trust Rouge'll take care of Melody. Just hope they don't get too close to the water."
