Shadow the Hedgehog

Hope gave a small shudder. "Glad we don't have to endure that."

"Oh well. Crowley's back in, but I don't think anyone else is," said Hope, not realising Melody had walked off.

As Hope looked around she bumped into Crowley, jumping back startled. "Do you always come out nowhere?" she asked, trying to catch her breath. "No. Just most of the time."

"Alright then sounds good to me."

"Thanks. And yeah that's a relief. Woah it's night time already. I thought the others would be back by now."

"Just some juice will be fine. And yeah that took some effort."

Hope concentrated and just about 'heard' Melody's thought. "Yes I'd like one please."

"I didn't hear anything at all. Cool."

Shadow gave a small wave to them as they left. "You know I think you're right," thought Hope.

"Some might consider it rude but it probably depends on the person. Shadow probably wants some peace at the moment."

Hope laughed. "That would be a pretty difficult fight. Though like you said earlier we need to not broadcast everything or we'll go crazy."

"I guess so. But it's not like we'll be fighting anytime soon is it?"

"Heh. But you ve seen me with equipment. In a straight up fight you'd mop the floor with me," she thought.

"I really hope not. I mean this film looks like it has a lot of action, and I'm not bulletproof," thought Hope.

Hope laughed. "I don't think we're at that stage yet. We were planning to watch my film at some point, seeing as I never even started it." "Rouge and I will join you when you do. To make sure you're fine, of course."

"I see. I'll be sure to keep an eye on the both of you then. So, I trust your plans for the rest of the day don't involve anything hazardous?"

"If that were true it doesn't explain Hope's misfortune. None of this makes any sense, but your secret's safe with me. All things consindered it could be a lot worse."

"I'm sure he will." Hope once again went over to Shadow's room. "We have something to tell you," she said. "What is it now?" he asked. Hope walked up to him and whispered in his ear. "Well, we think the teleporter has, erm, connected my mind and Melody's. We can hear each other's thoughts.' Shadow let out a heavy sigh. "You two seem to be magnets for the unusual recently."

"Good idea. That gives us a nice failsafe. I see. Well perhaps you'll be able to tell him in time."

"We will have to tell people eventually, but just keep it on a need to know basis."

"Yeah we are. We don't need anyone meddling and potentially making the situation worse," she thought.

"I understand. We all have things that become a part of us," said Hope.

Hope giggled. "While it does look pretty it really wouldn't suit me. I'm too aware of my lowly peasant lineage," she joked.

"Yes I did. Were you trying to do something with it?"

Hope didn't get any reply so assumed the link weakened with distance like a radio signal, and soon arrived back at the hotel with Shadow. She went outside and saw Melody singing along. "Didn't get any response. And why'd she take her tiara off? It can't hurt her to wear it or she wouldn't have brought it out," she thought.
