Hope held onto the compass. "WEll, erm, we did try a tiny bit of alcohol and then showed Shadow my magic for the first time. Unfortunately when we tried to extinguish the lights Melody accidentally turned me into a human fireball. Yeah, stupid of us i know."
-
"We'll let you know if it is, but I'm hoping it won't be a problem."
-
"I know, thank you Skye. Yes, they should at least help with that so it doesn't become intolerablly painful."
-
"I see. I think it's best to just stick with the first option and maybe option 2 at the same time as well. I can afford to be asleep for several days continously, the painkillers obviously have the problem of addiction and potential madness, being transformed into a mobian is just a big no, and I don't want to completely cut off Melody."
-
"Don't worry we won't say anything. What does the crystal do?" asked Hope.
-
"It's ok, I'll guess I'll just have to weather the storm and not use my telepathy too much."
-
"That does sound like a plausible theory Skye, and would explain why she was the only one to get them," said Shadow. Hope just nodded in agreement with his statement.
-
The group headed over to Skye's room and entered. "I suppose that makes sense. At least it's nothing to worry about," replied Hope.
-
"No it comes and goes. And even if it was worse than a headache Shadow could have easily gotten me to safety .But it doesn't matter now. Which room do we want to go in?" said Hope.
-
"Locke thought something was wrong and so decided to ambush Melody and I. I suddenly got a terrible headache then Melody spilled the beans," she replied as she got over to Shadow and informed him they were going back to the hotel. He nodded and chaos controlled them back to the hotel.
-
"M ay as well go back to the hotel. No one's there after all."
-
"Melody told Locke. I just hope he doesn't share it with anyone else. But as the cat is out of the bag it was suggested perhaps you could help."
-
"We have a problem. My teleporter has given us a mental link and now we can read each others thoughts. I don't know how and we were planning to keep it secret except from Shadow, but unfortunately circumstances have changed," she said quietky so no one but Skye heard.
-
Hope got up and headed over to Skye, waiting for Melody to come as well.
-
"I'll give you that one. Let's go see him then."
-
"Perhaps you're right. But I wouldn't classify my science as normal. I did build a Zone Breaching Platform, a teleporter and a fireshield."
-
"My headache is a side effect of the teleportation. So it's either going to get better, or get worse. Until I know which there's little anyone can do but ensure I have pain killers available. Though perhaps he could help dampen the telepathy until I've worked out what exactly caused it."
-
"Yes?" bluntly asked Hope.
-
Hope had an angry look on her face, having 'heard' what Melody said. "Shadow, she just blabbed about the telepathy. I refuse to be scrutinised by Locke of all people, so if he tries or suggests anything, get me out of here," she whispered, to which Shadow nodded.
-
"I agree, but who says I'm pretending? And I'm not admitting anything to him." thought Hope. "No we haven't done anything. Now if you'll excuse me I need to get a glass of water," said Hope through gritted teeth as she made her way back to her seat. Shadow saw her in pain and asked what was wrong. "My head. I think the side effect of the teleporter doesn't like being used so much, but Melody's fine," she replied.
-
"Don't consider a career in espionage," thought Hope as she clutched her head and winced in pain. "Well as far as side effects of teleportation go this could be a lot worse," she said aloud.
-
"He doesn't know it was us. He's probably just wondering why the level in one of the bottles went down." "I got Shadow a tiny bit for Rouge at one point to help with her pain, but that's it. Go ahead and ask him if you want."
-
"I'll make something up with a grain of truth in it." thought Hope. "I just think it could be a combination of the depressing nature of Moebius, at least for me, lingering about, and the fact that I think the teleporter did something, because I've had headaches that come and go since I used it earlier. Nothing serious, they just mean I don't feel like talking much as I don't want to aggrevate them," she said aloud.
-
"No nothing's wrong. We're fine," said Hope.
-
"I doubt it. Shadow took care of everything," thought Hope.
