"That doesn't make sense," replied Hope. ---- "Well rumour has it the war is coming to an end sooner or later," said Zamy.
-
"Exactly. We aren't exactly the model of an effective and legitimate police force at times." ---- Hope shrugged. "Not a clue."
-
"I know our guys had it easy. I meant the, what do you call it? Citizen's arrest. I don't understand our regulations sometimes. Paperwork or not, he should be in there for much longer," said Zamy. ------- Hope took the paper. "Will do."
-
"You don't understand. He'll never accept that she's changed. The only options that can guarantee he won't reoffend are life imprisonmemt or brainwashing, and we don't do the latter for ethical reasons. Besides, from what I heard he resisted arrest with lethal intent. Amazing he didn't go down for longer," replied Zamy to Glen ----- "I don't know. I honestly haven't got a clue," replied Hope.
-
Zamy shuddered. "I heard about that. I've dealt with his type before as a case once. Zouge knows what she's doing, but erotomaniacs are tough to break. Well, mentally at least. Once he's out in a few months he'll probably try again unfortunately." --- Hope turned to face Melody. "Yes we're still friends," she mumbled.
-
"I see. They only gave it to me just before I left. You've certainly been busy down here. Let's hope we didn't have anymore hiccups, though given the range of cases here I doubt things will be so simple. Thank you for the crash course, is there anything else I need to know or is that everything?" replied Zamy. --- "I would if you weren't giving me a bear hug," replied Hope.
-
"Yes please. I'd like to get up to speed," replied Zamy. --- "It's too late for that. I'm going to go back to my beeping machines,"
-
"Yes I'm Zamy. You must be Ziona. I wasn't expecting things to be so... hectic. You've certainly settled in here," replied Zamy. Hope was fuming. "I've got a feeling she did," she replied to Anna. "Don't go whining to me. You're the one who made this happen. I was just trying to help," she thought bitterly.
-
"You too. I didn't catch your name. Sorry if I seem brief, I just wasn't expecting to get thrown into the deep end like this."
-
"Do not tell me what to do as if you hold some authority over me," replied Hope to Red. --- "I'm Zamy," she said before returning to looking through her notebook.
-
Hope clenched her fist as she glared at Melody, "Then you won't have to deal with my 'useless' help any longer. I know how to stop my headaches. Yours aren't my concern anymore," she hissed before returning to the main room. --- "Attack? That doesn't make sense," said Zamy before hearing Skye and seeing Ziona enter the room in less than formal attire. "So much for an easy assignment," she muttered to herself.
-
"With that attitude you won't be getting my help," snapped back Hope. --- "I'll just wait until she's up. No use barging in. And it's fine. I've had worse first time meetings," said Zamy.
-
"But you haven't been able to use your power, so how can you be having a headache?" asked Hope. ------- "I have a rough idea of that reputation. But still, I doubt she walks around in uniform. Regardless, has my partner processed you to make you an official resident?" Zamy asked.
-
"Of course I'm not from Moebius. I am a Zone Cop. My name is Zamy and I'm here to watch over you and make sure there's no funny business," said Zamy. "There's nothing psychotic about that Zone Cop, Melody," said Hope as she opened the door.
-
Crowley and Shadow simultaneously facepalmed, and Zamy's jaw dropped when the chaos began. "Hurt him? Why would I do that? I just need him to fill out a form at some point," she said, confused. Hope wrenched herself free of Melody's grip. "What do you think you're doing? Do you want the Zone Cops to distrust you?" she asked angrily.
-
Zamy looked around the room then slowly began to remove her helmet, tucking it under her arm once she'd got it off.
-
Zamy pulled out a small notebook and looked through it. "It's best if I get straight into action. Can you please take me to where the children and my partner are?" Shadow nodded to Zamy and chaos controlled her and Hope into the main room of the hotel penthouse. Crowley had walked out of his room and assumed his usual seat just as the trio arrived.
-
"Hehe, sorry about that. Good luck with everything," she replied before teleporting back to the GUN infirmary with a wave.
-
"We've got a medical team standing by. And don't worry, they try anything and I'll be going for a homerun," she replies, tapping the bottom of her baton. She activated her teleporter and took Zet to the awaiting medics.
-
Zamy gave a little chuckle. "It took them a while but they eventually got the right idea. Sending you on this detail just doesn't make sense: it's not like my department's that understaffed. Are you ready to make the trip back?" she asked.
-
The hedgehog walked up to Shadow and Hope. "Hi there. I'm Officer Zamy. I'm here as Zet's replacement. Can you direct me to him?" she asked. "Certainly Officer," replied Shadow as he led her over to Zet's bed.
-
"Well we've got to get you back over so Skye can run his tests," said Shadow. Hope nodded and finished her work. As they were walking out of the lab they saw a flash of light in the infirmary, causing them to rush inside to see a pink hedgehog standing in front of them, dressed in a Zone Cop uniform.
-
Unaware of the goings on outside, Shadow had used chaos control to return to HQ. Walking down to the lab he saw Hope inside, busy working on something. He entered and went up to her. "Are you ok?" he asked. "I'm fine. I slept well and my head doesn't hurt at all now," she replied. "So what are you working on here?" "Just fixing your bike's GPS. It shouldn't take long."
-
Shadow nodded to Melody in understanding and went into the kitchen, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
-
Shadow climbed out of bed and headed into the main room, leaving Rouge who was still asleep. "I'm surprised to see you up," he said to Skye and Melody. Inside his room, Crowley stirred as well, but contented himself with watching the news in bed.
