"I've had times when people's first reaction to me is to lunge at me with something. So this was comparativrly tame," joked Zamy.
-
Zamy was slightly surprised by Melody. "Er... it's fine, just a case of mistaken identity. I don't really have anything in mind. I could just come to the UF with you. I'm sure my bosses would want more data on it for reference."
-
Hope followed Melody. "Well that's easier than chasing them at least," joked Zamy.
-
Hope looked to where Melody was pointing. "Looks like it."
-
"Alright. Let's ask her then." ------ "Duly noted. Thanks for the heads up."
-
"It's fine, she'll understand." ---- "Well it's not a total surprise to me actually. I don't mind the island in itself, just the power structure. And the fact it looks to be echidnas or nothing judging by the crowds."
-
"I think that might be a little too much but it's on the right track." ---- "Yeah it is. Before this I've only read dossiers here and there," said Zamy.
-
"There's still time to put it right though." ---- Zamy followed Ziona out the door. ---- Hope continyed looking through her box, setting aside instruments for her planned tests.
-
"It is her first day and she wasgreeted with shrieks and howls after all. Can you blame her for being a little edgy?" ---- "Good to know. Lead the way." --- Hope went back to her work, content Miles would do the same.
-
"Alright then. I'll just have to clear it up with everyone first, get you a permit. And you should probably tell the new Zone Cop as well." --- "As I'll ever be. I hope they take cards." ---- "That's privileged information."
-
"Something you haven't done before..... I could see if you could come to the UF if you wanted. It's certainly a lot different from here." ----- Zamy nodded to Ziona. ----- "It does, no matter if it's physical or magical, nothing can harm me in here."
-
"No I haven't got any plans in mind. You?" ---- "Alright then. Sounds like a plan." ----- "That's good to hear. My bubble is inpregnable but they would still be an unwanted nuisance."
-
"No it's fine. On second thought it's best to go when I actually have properly prepared. ---- "Good point. And no I'm not being scared, but yes I could go for breakfast as well." ---- "Certainly not a pleasant way to meet your end."
-
"I guess I do. But I know you don't so I'll pass. I'd rather we spend it together." --- "You were certainly active then." --- "Clearly something happened here. This place looks a wreck in places."
-
"No problem. And I might investigate this desert region. Ghosts are an interesting phenomenon." --- "I know. Do you have much in the way of hobbies?" --- "Surely that's a good thing."
-
Hope handed Melody her drink and sipped her own. ---- "I know. But ice skating is a little abstract." --- Hope smirked even more at his words. "More like imprisoning her," she thought to herself.
-
Hope laughed as she got her's and Melody's drinks. ---- "Exactly. I never thought I'd find a practical reason to try out my skills again." ---- Hope smirked at Miles' denial.
-
"I'm sure it won't," ---- "Thanks. It's worth a shot." --- Hope collected her thoughts, wondering when miles would work out she had only given him a placebo.
-
"Glad to hear," replied Hope. --- "We could always see if he had a spare pair. I know how to ice skate," said Zamy, half joking. "I'll call in the implqnts tonight." ---- "They will do nicely."
-
"I'll just get a lemonade. And nope, my head is fine. Yours?" ------- "I see, it's probably best not to let anyone else know anyway. Even more so if they have their own life to lead." ----- "That's acceptable. I meant with regards to biological function."
-
"It's fine Melody. Now come on, let's get you that drink." ----- "The sub-dermal implants could work. And this does surely count as exceptional circumstances. And no, I was just going on the assumption we'd be able to find someone to do it." ------ "Very well, so long as they do not impair their functioning and do no harm to them."
-
"Just let it go. This is teenage Anna, not middle aged Mina. It obviously hasn't occurred to Anna yet to teach you." ------ "Hmm, maybe we can appropriate the services of someone who can keep up?" ----- "That still doesn't explain their motivation. Mina was someone people would want dead, not reprogrammed. But it's best to stop this idle speculation and settle it once and for all when she is brought here. Which reminds me, how are we going to contain the Ultimate Lifeforms?"
-
"Agreed. Oh well." ---- "Well if they keep running off it will get rather hard unfortunately. But yes, I need to keep my sanity intact so not getting overworked is a good idea." ----- "Magic is disgustingly unscientific. Besides, very few people practice magic in the Prime Zone."
-
"Sure I think I need one too." ----- "I'd rather not see him unless it's absolutely necessary. My business is with the children and the other Zone hoppers after all. And I'm not here to enjoy myself unfortunately." ---- "So you keep saying, though I hIghly doubt she was. Brainwashing someone takes a lot of time and skill. So until I have properly verified whether she was or wasn't, I will defer to my much more informed judgement."
-
"You could say that." ---- "Something just rubs me the wrong way, you know?" rrplied Zamy. ---- "You're trying to kidnap someone and reprogram their brain for your own selfish desires. If that's not obsessive what is?"
