"A huge one at that. How do we stop it?"

Hope tossed Miles one. "What is it then?"

"You might be on to something."

Hope ran to her computer. "I can see the energy readings. Something really is going on," she said worriedly.

Topaz fidgetted a little as her ear piece went off. "Hope, can you check the city scans? Tech guys are reporting weird energy columns appearing everywhere. Who's acting out this time?"

"They're always full of themselves."

"Yeah. I'm no expert."

"It depends what you mean by god."

"Until he comes back in a few centuries, yeah. Gods here really aren't all powerful, just pretty darn powerful. Discover their weakness and it's simple to beat them."

"Yes. He had, and in fact still has, a grudge against Shadow."

"I did. But it's always been an odd sight. Foxes aren't really meant to fly. But then again we've seen far stranger things recently. Like that god."

"That'll never look normal to me," laughed Hope to herself.

"Sure. Just don't fiddle with anything."

Hope laughed. "I'll give you that one."

"It's only mine as long as I work here."

"Thanks. But I didn't build it myself. I just got some of the more advanced machines in."

"Never seen a lab before?" asked Hope.

"Do you two want to come in here then?" she asked Zamy and Miles. "Thank you," replied the cop, stepping into the lab.

"Yeah. Best to take it carefully."

"He could be faking it. Though of course he could have turned over a new leaf."

"Pretty sure. I'm just still a bit suspicious of Miles. He nearly broke my jaw with that spell."

"Don't worry. Nothing important," smiled Hope.

"Yeah I'm fine. Just thinkong is all."
