Shadow the Hedgehog

"You can't fly," teased Hope.

Hope giggled at the thought.

"What's that?" smiled Hope.

Shadow nodded in agreement and took a sip from his mug. Hope returned with the developed photos.

"No. But in order to keep up with Rouge in that sort of thing you'd need to be an expert and then some."

"You definitely will." Shadow reappeared holding a coffee mug

"You do have a point. Perhaps one day."

"Of course not. A thief has to protect her secrets. And I wouldn't want to get caught."

"I couldn't agree more."

"They do have an allure to them."

"Guilty as charged."

"Finally, someone who appreciates jewels nearly as much as me."

Rouge reached into her pocket and pulled out a sapphire that she then gave to Melody. "Consider this a thank you for helping out with that god. You should be honoured, I never give jewels away."

"Yes. Now tell me, do you like jewels?"

"That's very true."

"No easy task with him."

"It'd probably get me a cup of coffee or something similar," laughed Rouge.

"A look definitely wouldn't persuade him to do that."

"I meant what would you be trying to get them to do?"

"Yes. Now what was it you were talking about earlier?"

"Agreed, so hopefully he'll go along with it tonight."

"A cake. We defeated a god yesterday so I thought I'd make him celebrate that fact by getting this made. It wasn't cheap."

"Or you just got lucky with the timing."

Shadow rolled his eyes. "I'll go get a cup of coffee," he said, heading out of the lab.

"What did you have in mind?"
