  1. (Why didn't I notice this page before? Oh well...) Hi, I'm NegaMetallix, but you can call me Nega for short. I originally came here to read the Archie comics, as they don't sell them here in the UK from my knowledge. I got introduced to them when I went to my first 'Summer of Sonic' convention last year, and I've loved them ever since. Same goes for Mega Man, which actually got me interested in the games (which I also enjoy). Some of my favourite characters from both series include:

Shadow, Metal Sonic, Silver, Knuckles, Blaze, Shard (the original Metal Sonic), Proto Man, Bass, Elec Man, Fire Man, Time Man, Quick Man, Shadow Man...

...and of course the blue heroes themselves, Sonic and Mega Man. (Oh, and Eggman Nega, whenever he appears, which he hasn't... yet.)

As for hobbies, nothing really except playing and reviewing video games (& films). Maybe I'll start making reviews on YouTube, but not right now.

Anyway, if there's ever something you need on this website (updates, interviews etc.) I'll be happy to help in anyway I can. Catch ya later, guys!

  2. Well there is a rip in space and reality already, so it wouldn't be a bad idea. Besides, if I'm correct, Sonic knew what happened the first time with the genesis wave, so maybe Megaman could remember everything too. Making Bass his later introduction even pointless because Megaman already beat him (Comic not out yet, but we know they will be beaten eventually).

Sonic remembered because he remembered what happened before the g-wave the first time. Seeing as they started to remember before this g-wave when Shadow chaos controlled, they may remember the events that took place. Hmm, I wonder what Break man/Proto man will be thinking when it is all over.

Hmm... I dunno. While it would be interesting to see Break Man's reaction to the crossover events (even though I don't remember him getting caught in Shadow's Chaos Control), I personally don't think the stories would be as entertaining if Mega Man knew exactly how to beat Dr. Wily every single time. Besides, didn't 'Rock of Ages' already give Mega Man hints of upcoming events? Then again, we won't know until 'Blackout' begins next month. And hey, at least it looks like Break Man might revert back to the good side earlier than the Mega Man 3 adaptation...

  3. Since this topic isn't getting much love, I thought I'd just post a little brainstorm I just had:

Thanks to STH#250's teaser for events Post-WC, along with the previews of Countdown To Chaos, we now know that Sonic's world will essentially 'die' (semi-reboot), while Mega Man's world will essentially 'live' (continue as normal). But what if there are some minor changes, equivalent to the changes that Sonic's world had from the original Genesis Wave? Maybe it could be a good excuse to allow Bass to be properly introduced earlier than we expect him to (e.g. he might be created sometime just after Mega Man 3's adaptation, in an original comic arc, rather than being created just before MM7's adaptation). It's unlikely to happen, but what do you guys think?

(Assuming this topic is still worth talking about...)

  4. He specifically said that partner is "base" villain just like him, so either Flynn is planing to bring him earlier or we have a continuity hiccup.

Well, yes. The "base villain" line was clearly there as a 'subtle' hint of Bass' involvement in the crossover, but I still don't see it making sense in-continuity... then again, maybe Ian didn't want people like me to analyse it so much, and just see it as what it is; an obvious foreshadowing to Metal Sonic's partner in Worlds Collide. Also, seeing as Bass is a fan-favourite, I doubt that Flynn will wait all the way until the Mega Man 7 adaptation to introduce Bass into the Mega Man comic continuity.

At least, I don't think (most of) the fans could wait that long.

  5. He seems to have lost his free will, just like he lost his ability to speak, but it probably wasn't because he lost his power gem core. Metal Sonic said at the end of SU 50 that all will pay and he'd already lost his power gem core by then.

I think his loss of voice and free will was most likely a side-effect of the Genesis Wave, causing Metal 3.8 to basically become the equivalent to Metal Sonic from the games. Also, who do you think Eggman was referring to when he told Metal to meet his 'new partner' in SU#50? I mean, Wily hadn't created Bass at that point, so was he probably just referring to Wily himself (or perhaps Copybot)? I know it's a bit too late for this question, but it still bugs me to this day.

  6. Personally, I think this mystery villain is an all new Flynn created character. He said we'll never guess it right? So what better way to do so with a character that we haven't even seen yet. And if it is, I won't be too worried about whether this character is a good one, because when you see other Flynn Characters like Shard, there's little doubt he can pull it off.

You know what, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. And yeah, Flynn has a good track-record with his characters. Also, I really hope that Shard returns.

  7. Well, my guess for the gloved character is now Thrash, as he's purple and could easily have chains if he's been redesigned. Of course, why would he be on the cover?

Yeah, if it was Thrash, then I'd expect Knuckles to appear somewhere in the story for obvious reasons. Some people over on Bumbleking are guessing that it could be a 'Sky Patrol' character, so who knows?

I have a theory about the end of Worlds Collide. It's just MY thoughts:

The possible reason that roboticization was involved with the crossover was so that the source of the deroboticization would be the same one that restores Sally.

Look, here's what I think; Duo will disrupt Eggman and Wily's Genesis Wave generator, causing Sonic and Mega Man's worlds to revert(It isn't gonna be like StH #229), but the Skull Egg will be unaffected. Sonic and Mega Man will travel to Sonic's old world, and use the Sonic-ized Mega Buster(Sonic Shot) on Sally, turning her back to normal.

Look, I know this isn't probably true, but it's a possibility. We'll find out by Saturday.

I think that if Sonic #252 was the true final part of Worlds Collide, then it could definately be a possibility. Nice theory, though.

Wait, do you get Part 12 on Saturday? (I'm not subscribed, so I don't know.)

  8. In other news, Ian Flynn has given some hints via Bumbleking as to who the 'unlikely character with Uncle Chuck' is, as well as the mysterious glove:

Some little teaser quasi-answers for further speculation:

    - the glove isn't Bunnie. It isn't a Freedom Fighter, either.

    - the character with Chuck is another SatAM-er.

    Have fun.

Ah, what the heck, more fun teasing:

    THE MYSTERY GLOVE

    - it is a villain

    - it's not a SatAM-er

    - nobody will guess it

Oh, really? Well, we'll see about that, Ian! Any thoughts, guys?

  9. Isn't the hand from Espio?

And NegaMetallix, thank you very much for the update.

No problem, I'm glad I could help. I think the hand is too big for it to be Espio's (or at least, the band around it is). Plus, while Espio does have a purple arrow-shaped layer on the back of his gloves, he doesn't have anything purple on the front. And I doubt that Espio would get a redesign, since he's a game character.

    I'm 90.6 percent sure it's Bunnie.

That... is a possibility. I'm starting to get the feeling that each new cover of 'Countdown To Chaos' will reveal a new FF design, but who knows?

  10. I've just noticed something else: Just like the shoe in STH#253's cover, there's a mysterious hand on the bottom right corner of #254's cover.

It's obscured by the logo, so it's difficult to make out, but... could this be the mysterious character that they mention in the synopsis?

  11. While I'm here, I may as well show you guys the upcoming Sonic Super Special as well as the Countdown To Chaos Part 2 synopsis and covers:

(I'll post the cover art if and when I can, since I can't reach Bumbleking.com for some reason...) So, what are your thoughts, if any?

  13. Well... I definately didn't see that one coming, but at least we know that the Freedom Fighters will be returning straight away. But this gets me thinking:

They made that big deal about using the Krudzu plant to de-roboticise Sally, but now it looks like she'll just come back as soon as Worlds Collide is over.

I dunno, it just seems like they're gonna retcon almost everything from before the crossover... *sigh* all I can do is just hope for the best.

Also, 'dark power seeping from the earth' ...Dark Gaia, perhaps? I'm interested to find out who the 'unlikely character' is, as well as Eggman vs G.U.N.

  14. That's a good point. You would expect Metal Sonic to do a lot more talking and it doesn't look like he'll be talking in the next part of worlds collide. Perhaps the g-wave just makes everything become more like the game counterparts. Such as the Chaotix being only 3 members, whereas in the comic, there are plenty more

That's what I'm thinking too. It just bugs me that they made a big deal about it in SU#50, and then just throw it all aside for the crossover straight after. Also, on the topic of Metal being like his game counterpart, could it be that the Metal Sonic in the crossover isn't actually v3.8 (the newly-rebuilt one)? It's unlikely, but who knows?

Either way, if Metal gets pummeled at least 2 more times, we'll finally be moving on to Metal Sonic v4.0... which'll probably still look like the previous ones. Oh well...

  15. Yes of course, but look at metal, dear god metal....

Didn't they make a big deal about Metal Sonic being more dangerous and deadly in Universe #50? And why doesn't he say anything in the crossover even though he has a new voice chip now? (Then again, time-space did get altered due to the Genesis Wave, possibly making him act more like his game counterpart... but still.)

  16. Elias going back to the throne due to Naugus down?

It would certainly finish up that lingering plotline, though I think Archie might end it via story-arc later down the line. (Or perhaps even during Countdown To Chaos...)

  17. What you said shouldn't be too far from the truth. It's interesting actually, since it happened before when Shadow used Chaos Control, ripping the warp of reality. I'm really curious what will happen indeed.

I have a theory: Maybe Shadow teleported away in Part 7 to return to Sonic's world, causing the temporary time-space disturbance due to leaving the Skull Egg Zone. After that, his Chaos Control from Part 10 is used within the Skull Egg Zone only, which I'm guessing wouldn't cause a rift because he didn't leave the Skull Egg Zone.

But who knows. (I'm sure Ian Flynn does, he just hasn't told us yet.)

The question is: What happened to the Secret Freedom Fighters after the Eggman/Wily genesis wave?

Well, assuming they don't change: Silver will have a headache, and Shard might get rebuilt/fixed. (I really hope he does!) As for the others... I don't know.

  18. I do gotta say (other than issue 1 being replaced by issue 229) I really enjoyed the issue especially that page spread of Sonic facing all those robots masters mainly when he hit Quickman as well as the autograph yearbook

Same here. I thought STH #250 was awesome, even though some find it disappointing to see Sonic's tenth milestone issue featuring mostly Mega Man characters. And yeah, I was also confused as to why they only included the 'Genesis' ending instead of the remastered STH #1. Have Archie explained why they did that?

Oh, and Rouge Woman had zero influence at all if you ask me.

Oh yeah, Rouge Woman. She was in... two panels, I think? (Seriously, what was even the point?)

  19. While I do look forward to Lost World (both versions, mind you) it's not looking like one of the absolute best Sonic games in my opinion. The gameplay to me looks like a blend of Classic, Adventure and even a bit of Modern, with similarities to (but NOT inspired by) Super Mario Galaxy, and I'm fine with that. As for the characters... meh. I mean, SEGA just haven't been utilising the other characters lately. Granted, there's a chance that Amy & Knux will have bigger roles in Lost World (keyword being CHANCE) but I'd like to see others get some more time in the spotlight in future games.

One theory that I've had on my mind in terms of playable characters in single-player is doing something akin to Sonic Rush Adventure: Having a linear storyline involving multiple characters, which you unlock throughout the game. For example, you start the game with just Sonic. Along the way you unlock other speed-based characters like Shadow and Blaze, but you're still play the same story. There could even be other storylines for different gameplay styles, like maybe having a Knuckles story and unlocking characters like Rouge later on. Also, each character would have slightly different stats: e.g. for speed-based, Sonic is the fastest, but has a lower jump height, and vice-versa for Blaze.

As for storylines themselves, I'd personally like to see something like Unleashed: Not too dark/serious, but not overly goofy either. I think that Unleashed hit the right feel of a Sonic story (minus the Werehog, of course). Anyway, I've rambled on for long enough. These are just my thoughts on the possible future of Sonic games.

  20. I'm guessing it may be a side affect of the Genesis Wave, the Xorda want revenge on "Earth", or the Black Arms are using the core as fuel.

Yeah, I'm also thinking that it's some kind of side-effect. After all, Mobius has now been altered TWICE! Perhaps the world is just de-stabilising on it's own.

And/or if it involves the Xorda or Black Arms (at least we'd know who won the battle) that could lead to some interesting storylines, but I doubt that it'll be them... yet.

Either way, looks like we might have an idea on what the 'Countdown To Chaos' storyline could be about...
