Perhaps for the same reason they don't question it in 'Lost World'? :P But seriously, their version of Generations didn't necessarily have to end like the game version. It's really not a big deal. As for Wily calling Eggman by his first name, well: 1) Wily calls Dr. Light by his first name. Why not do the same with his new best friend? 2) Before the crossover, 'Ivo' was used to avoid saying Eggman's name in a non-crossover issue. Same with Eggman saying 'Albert' before the crossover, and blaming 'Al' for what happened afterwards. It's also why you can't actually see Sonic or Tails Man in that one 'Dawn of X' issue. Well, aside from Xander drawing later on, but... I've got nothing for that.

Worlds Collide is canon to the Mega Man timeline, and takes place after the events of 'Mega Man 10' (the game, not the issue). This is how Dr. Light knew about Wily's 'former' plans, but he supposedly learned of Eggman's plans through other means (most likely from Rouge). It's a bit more complicated for Sonic's side; it's technically not canon to either the old or new comic continuity, but rather it happens in a sort of 'game continuity' after the events of 'Sonic Generations'. For simplicity's sake, you could say that Sonic's WC continuity is the same as those 'Another Time, Another Place' stories.

I meant during the crossover. Neither Mega Man nor Proto Man seemed to question anything, while Dr. Light (and Sonic) noticed something was up. So perhaps the amnesia/confusion side-effect only affected organic beings? The only time Mega Man's memory was affected during the crossover was after Shadow's Chaos Control, I believe. Anyway, I don't think this really has much to do with Worlds Unite, so I'll leave it at that.
-
Well, that was more like a side-effect of the Genesis Wave; whenever it was used, it affected people's minds, giving them a sense that something's wrong. Sonic was affected both times, and Silver sensed a disturbance in space-time (likely due to his constant time-travelling). Meanwhile, Dr. Light also sensed a disturbance, but couldn't deduce what it was. The only clue he had was other people on Earth suffering from sudden amnesia. (Actually, were any Robot Masters affected? Mega Man and Proto Man didn't seem to be bothered.)
-
Actually, we don't know if NICOLE has any crossover knowledge, or old world memories for that matter. I wouldn't count on her having any knowledge on what's gonna happen.

Everyone on Earth 20XX forgot the events of Worlds Collide after Mega Man's Chaos Control. (Wily briefly mentioned an urge to stomp on a carton of eggs, but that was played for laughs really.) Sonic and Eggman originally remembered everything from before AND during the crossover, with Tails mentioning "those robots from another world" after getting zapped by NICOLE. Blaze also remembered the crossover events, as she mentioned them in 'Pirate Plunder Panic'. After STH Issue #257 though, Sonic and Co. basically forgot the old world completely, dropping that plot entirely (and making 'Countdown to Chaos' feel a bit less important). It's presumed that Blaze has also forgotten the old world at this point. All that said, though... I could potentially see Sonic at least (maybe Tails, Blaze, Amy and Eggman too) vaguely recalling the events of Worlds Collide, once they meet the Mega Man cast.

There's still one thing I'm waiting to hear: what are Xander Payne and Boom Eggman doing during all this? It doesn't sound like Sigma captured both Eggmen, just the main one.

Sonic Games on the PC
NegaMetallix replied to crazyty237's topic in Multiverses of Sonic the Hedgehog
Why are people still saying that Sonic's going PC/Mobile-exclusive?! He's fine for now. If anything's gonna be affected, it'll probably be whether-or-not SEGA of Japan will give the American developers as much freedom as before Boom was released. But we'll have to wait and see. -
Okay, just so I don't end up cluttering the other topics with Worlds Unite stuff, I'll only be posting my thoughts on the previews and actual issues over here. With that said, here are the solicitations for Parts 1-3 of Worlds Unite, starting with Sonic Universe #76... Phew, that's more than enough for now. I'm just gonna... go and lay down for a bit...
-
Well, well... what do we have here? Some covers for Issue #76, AKA Part 1 of Worlds Unite? (Spoilered for character reasons) Also, when Worlds Unite officially starts, do you guys think it would be easier if we just post all the covers, solicits and issue thoughts in the Worlds Unite thread, and save these ones (STH, Boom, Universe and MM) for the non-crossover issues? I just think it will save time for those who'll be reading the crossover when it begins.

Well, well... what do we have here? Some covers for Sonic Universe Issue #76, AKA Part 1 of this crossover? No solicitation yet, but... Axl from X7 onwards, AND the Deadly Six?! On the MAIN cover?! And the variant has Quake Woman AND Sally! Whoo! So... when Worlds Unite officially starts, do you guys think it would be easier if we just post all the covers, solicits and issue thoughts in the Worlds Unite thread, and save these ones (STH, Boom, Universe and MM) for the non-crossover issues? I just think it will save time for those who'll be reading the crossover when it begins.

I'd actually disagree with that. I felt that the first crossover had enough issues, with each act having their purpose (Act 1 for introductions/obligatory hero fight, Act 2 for character interations/team-up fights, and Act 3 for pushing their limits to the max). But that's just my thoughts. The biggest flaw for me was Act 2, mostly because it was so formulaic, with each issue just being "We took out 2-3 Roboticized Masters! Yay!" Ah well, I still had a good time with WC, so I'm not too worried about WU yet.
-
I can't tell if this takes place before or after Universe #75, which kinda bothers me, but I'm sure it'll be clarified by the time it's out. But hey, at least we know that Sonic and Chip are together now, so we can FINALLY start the 'official', non-backstory part of 'Sonic Unleashed's plot... oh wait. Interesting to know that Knux is tagging along with the FFs for a bit. Perhaps HE's still the one tagging along with Chip, but since he needs to find the Master Emerald shards first before the world is restored, he's helping out Sonic and co., and vice versa? Who knows. As for that 'TITANIC challenge' of theirs... who wants to guess that it'll be Tails Doll? (Either that or Titan Metal Sonic returns.) Should be fun either way. But of course, just as the meat of 'Unleashed' begins, the crossover has to barge it's way in. Do you mind, Rock?

The amount of covers here is staggering! Though I'll probably just end up getting whatever one they have in the shop. I find it kinda funny that this issue has Metal Sonic as the main enemy, just like Issue #50. And just like that issue, this is just before the crossover. Coincidence? ...Maybe. Anyway, I'm intrigued to learn just what on earth this issue is about. I mean, the solicit doesn't really reveal anything at all, just that Sonic and Metal fight for a Chaos Emerald, and they end up somewhere else, where Sonic has difficulty with something. My only real guess right now is that the Werehog might be involved (hence the title: 'Fury') and/or they end up in another world. (Maybe Earth 20XX?) Though I believe someone suggested that they might find a Gaia Temple, with areas where Sonic is forced to go Werehog (if you've played the PS2/Wii version of 'Unleashed', then this should be familiar to you). But then, how would that affect "Sonic's worth as a hero"? Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait 'till April to find out... ...Is it April yet?
-
Huh... kind of odd that the solicit doesn't make any reference to Worlds Unite, especially since this is the final Boom issue before it starts. Then again, this IS Boom we're talking about here, so it's probably not considered that important to them... yet. Looks interesting enough. (Also, who invited Comedy Chimp to the race?)
-
Granted, this was early in the announcement, and before Boom and X were confirmed to be involved, but he hasn't said anything deconfirming his comment since then. So as of right now: No, it isn't a separate series. It WILL be taking over STH, Universe, Mega Man and Boom next year. Sorry guys, but it's probably just easier for them that way.
-
Do you guys think there'll be a lot of jokes with the villains? I could see the two Eggmen seeing each other as quite opposite (one shatters his entire planet, while the other contemplates eating pork chops) and Wily acting as the middle-man to the two of them (he's not as extreme as Archie!Eggman, nor as goofy as Boom!Eggman). Then there's Xander Payne, who at this point might as well be "the one guy who technically knows of each world/timeline's existence (besides Boom)". I doubt that Sigma will play a villainous role, unless the events happen just before MMX1 or after The Day of Sigma, so maybe he'll just be a supporting character? Who knows.
-
Alright, let me just fish out the image for you guys... Ah, there we go. Here's Sticks vs. X in a staring contest: So now it's a four-way crossover?! Boy, this is gonna be painful to keep up with. And if X is involved too... I honestly don't see anyone remembering these events once it's over. (Well, maybe Sonic and Mega Man will remember each other's worlds afterwards, and maybe the Boomverse too, but that's about it.) What I really want to know, above all else is... what kind of threat would need the combined efforts of the Freedom Fighters, Robot Masters, Boom Crew AND Maverick Hunters to defeat?!
-
Hey guys! Long time no see. How's everyone been?
-
I take it you haven't run into any major glitches in the game yet, Device? I've seen a LOT of those appear recently.

Sonic Boom (Cartoon)
NegaMetallix replied to BlurryDawgo's topic in Multiverses of Sonic the Hedgehog
After watching the episodes, I can say that it was... okay. Nothing really made me laugh out loud, but it was still enjoyable enough. Hopefully, it'll get better and funnier. -
Hmm, not sure then. But if he's not under the Penders/Writers curse, then he could be under a SEGA mandate of "no Echidnas besides Knuckles" (and Tikal, kinda). It's still a shame though, 'cause from what little I actually read of Finitevus' appearances, he was a pretty awesome villain. One of the darkest villains, for sure.
-
I can't believe it took me this long to reply to this question, but Eggman Nega is still... around, I guess. He was referenced by Captain Whisker in 'Pirate Plunder Panic', and it was outright stated by Whisker that he and his crew are working for Nega to get the Sol Emeralds for him. However, we don't know anything else besides that. It's likely that SEGA still aren't allowing Flynn to use Eggman Nega properly yet, but from what I gathered so far, Nega is likely somewhere in the Sol Zone, giving orders to Whisker's crew while searching for the Sol Emeralds. (Though if he does appear, maybe he could salvage and repair the Egg O' War as a new base?)

Well, some are speculating that Shard might be in the next Universe arc ('Spark of Life') but it hasn't been confirmed yet. Though if he does come back, I'll be more than happy. As for the others... well, Thrash might come back someday, but it's too early to say right now. Scourge, Finitevus and the Zone Cops/Jail, on the other hand are gone for good, most definitely. Sure, there might be a VERY slight chance of a loophole being found for Scourge to 'return' to the comics someday, but it's not gonna happen. And the others definately aren't ever coming back to the comics, since they were characters created by any one of the Pre-Ian Flynn-era writers.

It begins... alrighty then, here are my thoughts on Issue #1:
