"Great. This should be fun!" grinned Melody. ----------- "Yeah, it does!" said Miles with a smile. "I like mysteries." "Maybe you could write your own mystery stories. Your father was a writer, wasn't he?" asked Anna. ------------ "AM NOT!" shouted Stacey. --------- Ziona looked at to kids sitting crossed legged on the floor. "Are... you comfortable there?" she asked. "Very!" Zoe replied.

*gets knocked to ground* Oof! Good to see you too!

Sonic is unlikely to ever show up as a main character in Sonic Universe. Why? Because he has the main comic, and Sonic Universe is meant focus on stories about other the characters, especially those who don't get much screen time in the main series. The exception being Journey to the East, but that was to expand the Arc in the main series. And even then Sonic was part of a group, not solo. Knux and Shadow, they get the prime slot in SU because they are major franchise characters, but tend not to get much screen time in the main comic as others. So they are prominent in SU. As for Nicole, yeah, it would have been nice to have had an arc about her before now. But 1) her origins in the comic pre-reboot were already covered. And 2) until the reboot, she was stuck running the city.

Given I'm also planning on looking at arcs and metaplots as I go, it'll be hard not to. What I'll probably do is summarize my own opinions on the issues you cover Jest, unless our opinions on an issue differ. But we'll see how it goes!

Wow, really great review Jest. Nice and detailed. If you're wondering what's wrong with Knux's design, it might be because he's more angular than his usual appearances. And it looks like his head is kinda cone-ish. And that's in comparison to his in-game design. So, the question is now, should I review the Knux comics too? :P

"Made it!" called Stacey as he reached it. ---------- Zoe ran towards one of the living rooms and headed inside, waiting. --------- Melody was still struggling. ----------- "Yeah, we can see what else we can do afterwards," said Miles. "I think you'll like the play Miles. Its a murder mystery. You can try to guess whodunit before the cast do!" smiled Anna. Miles looked excited.

Melody broke into uncontrollable giggles as well. --------- "I'm... not sure. I didn't really do much fun stuff," said Miles. "There is a theater in town... but that might not be enough of an activity..." suggested Anna.

"Hey, to much hard work would get in the way of our nap times!" replied Melody, struggling to keep a straight face. ----------- "Well, I did have fun when we went bowling... but... I'm not sure if I wanna do it again so soon. But.. is there some kinda fun activity like that we can do?" asked Miles

So it’s been a while since my last one of these. And, aside from work and stuff, the main reason it’s been so long, is that this is an issue I wasn’t looking forward to reviewing. It’s not bad in ‘I’m looking forward to tearing it to shreds’ but just sign inducing. Issue 10 Looking at the covers for the past four issues, only one doesn’t represent the story within. And as this cover shows a distinct scenario of Robotnik with a freeze ray, as opposed to the other non-representing covers which are more generic, you would expect one of the stories to involve said freeze ray. No such luck. Kinda the opposite to issue 8 then! Story 1: Revenge of the Nerbs Like the main story in Issue 8, this story has one joke repeated over and over, laughing at the Nerd stereotype. Though, oddly, none of the typical nerd hobbies are on display. Thankfully there is a bit more story to it than Issue 8’s. Unfortunately, it’s not a good story. The Freedom Fighters get caught in a trap, only for a Deus Ex Machina meeting with a Nerb from underground allowing them to escape. But the Nerbs in their underground city are inhospitable, so the Freedom Fighters storm off. But after getting lost they discover Robotnik and a mining operations. So after saving some ungrateful Nerbs Sonic floods the sight, cause numerous geysers, one of which…. Seems to destroy Robotropolis…. Er, that’s odd. But of course, it’s not even damaged in the next story. There’s not really much I want to add. The Nerbs are so irritating that any attempt at humour (even ignoring the stereotype issues) is drowned out. And it’s never explained how the Freedom Fighters or Nerbs survive the flood Sonic causes. A weak story made worse by a poor choice of supporting cast. I had hoped the Nerbs would be one element of the comics that would fade into obscurity, but alas, they were brought back. Thankfully, mostly as just a cameo, and nothing more was done with them before the reboot hit. Story 2: Twan with the Wind In a similar way to Issue 4’s second Story focusing on Tails, this story seems to serve as a character introduction to Antione, making him more than just the cowardly, uptight, funny-accented comic relief. The Freedom Fighters are suing Antione’s hot air balloon to scout for a picnic location, only to have it taken out by two buzz bombers. The next day, after complaints about the balloon from the others, Antione fixes the balloon while the others are at the picnic, then uses it to save the day when Robotnik attacks. Aside from being the first story to feature Antione as the main, there is little else to make the story stand out. It is pretty much by the numbers. Antione is permitted to save everyone, including Sonic, and the story also shows his determination, and that it can overcome his cowardliness. But these are all things that will be shown better later. Antione does make reference to being the head of balloons for King Acorn, something that seems suspect here, and will be clearly a lie with later developments. After all, it was true, he’d be at least in his 30’s or something. This is one of those things that could be analysed away, or just dismissed under early instalment weirdness! And, like the Tails story mentioned above, this one also desired to end on a laugh at the expense of the character. Overall Don’t read the first story. Just, *sighs* don’t. As for the second, if you like Antone and want to see the start of him becoming a well-rounded, then skip to the second story. If not, you can pass this issue over.

Stacey could see the trap mechanism ahead, and rushed forward. ------------- "Don;t be nervous Sarah," said Ziona. "Its nothing you need to worry about" ------------- "Yeah, as opposed to me and my lazy free life!" teased Melody. ------------ "Bye Crowley!" waved Anna. "Thanks again," said Miles, the considered Zamy's question. "I wanna.... do something to celebrate," said Miles.

Stacey started moving quickly. ------------- "Let's go!" said Zoe, hurrying out the room. Ziona smiled and followed.

"Thanks Hope. I'll try not to call every minute of every day," joked Melody. ------------- Miles laughed too. --------------- "That'd be wonderful," smiled Anna. ------------------- Stacey's ears twitched. "There you are!" --------------- "Nah, this is one we both can make. But I think somewhere comfy would be nice," said Zoe.

Stacey turned to grin at Dylan,. which faded when he couldn't see him. -------------- "Yeah, it's fine," said Ziona. But shall we talk about this somewhere more comfortable. -------------- Harmony stuck her head round the kitchen door. "I'm gonna head home to Haven. I'll see you guys later." She gave a wave then left.

Stacey started spring off the walls, starting to pull ahead. ------------- (Huh, somehow her reply got chopped off) "If you want her to stay, I'm sure she can," said Ziona smiling.

"Yes I will! Yes I will!" called Stacey as he closed the gap. --------------- "Nah, it's okay Sarah, you can stay. It's not gonna matter if Sarah stays, right?" asked Zoe.

"Great. I.. uh... guess... I'll be heading home now," said Melody sadly. ---------------- Miles gave a smile. "Don't worry Zamy. I don't wanna leave you out. ---------------- "No problem. Happy to help," smiled Anna. ----------------- "Errr..." Skye looked more confused. "Well, I'm not sure how many answers I can give, but this planet is called Mobius, and you're on the Floating Island," he told Gabe

Skye looked at the robot, an expression of confusion on his face. "Uh.. hello. Who are you?"
