"I was just about to enchant this bucket of water to turn fur blue, then we were gonna dump it over Knuckles."
-
"Aww, do we have to go inside," complained Skye, "We were almost ready to go here. You could leave your camera Dylan and we'll take photos?"
-
The two kid's looked at each other in puzzlement, "Hmm, this Knuckles dislikes Prime Sonic doesn't he," pondered Melody, "and Sonic is blue, not green. So, blue?" "Ok, we'll go with that. Do you want to do the honours?" asked Skye, pointing towards the bucket. "Oh no, you're the enchanter, you know my magic's more... direct."
-
Melody sprinted back with a bucket of water, screeching to a stop next to Skye but not spilling a drop. "What are those two taking about?" she asked her brother. "Boring adult stuff," Skye replied, "Now, I've got an idea." "I recognise that look in your eye," Melody grinned evilly. "What'ch got in mind?" Skye learned over and whispered something in her ear. "Really? Hmm, what should we go for?" Melody pondered,

Yeah. Who was a young kid. Seriously, when I read that bit I just couldn't believe that somehow made it into the comics. I knew that kinda stuff came later but, wow.
-
Keep in mind, the first torture scene involving crocbot occurred at his first appearance. Back when the comic was mostly still firmly in 'kid's funny comic' territory. True, it was off-screen, but still...

Skye took the stick from Dylan with a wicked grin. "I could just poke him, or I could do some enchanting things like it did to Shadow earlier? Hey, Melody. If we aren't going to use magic, what about a bucket of water?" Melody gave a grin almost identical to her brother and shot off.

Skye sulked slightly as he walked away from the Master Emerald. Then looked confused. "Why would Knuckles have a book about girls?" (ooc: Ah, childhood innocence.)
-
"Thanks Dad," said Melody warmly returning the hug. "Its gonna be nice to just be able to have some fun for a change." "Hey Dad," called Skye as he leaned casually against the master emerald, "last time we were here you yelled at me for doing this!"
-
"You are our Dad know," Skye said to Locke, then address Melody, "so you should try to call him that." "No its..." began Melody, before turning to Locke. "I want us to be a family. I want to call you Dad. I'm... just trying to get... used to the idea. And I wasn't dumped into the woods for training... nothing like that. Mother, before being Queen was one of the foremost hired killers on Meobuis. She wanted me to follow... in her footsteps. I've never actually killed anyone... myself."
-
"I'm... not used to... being around people I... don't know Loc-er-Dad," replied Melody. "But... what's wrong... with the word death... It's what I've been trained for." Skye walked over to his sister and whispered "Prime Zone, not Moebius" in her ear. "You mean they don't do that kinda thing here?" Melody asked her brother. "Wait, does that mean I now longer need to spend three nights a week training? I can actually sleep properly?"
-
"Oh. Time for more introductions," blurted Skye, while Melody was blushing at being called 'Cutie'. "Melody, Shadow. Shadow, Melody." "Uh... Hello," mumbled Melody with a weak smile. "Heh... I think... I know that look in your eye... you've seen... death before, haven't you?" Then she turned to Skye. "You almost blew up a zone? Really?" The look on her face was one of admiration. "I never knew you had it in you." "Erm, well, trouble is I don't really remember that," explained Skye.
-
"Sorry Locke.... erm... Dad?" Melody tried the word out for size. "I'll... use one of my other knives.... next time... They won't... go through the wall. And... Dylan...I won't... hurt you ... I... like you... at the moment." "Never mind that now," called Skye, "we're here. Hey, Knuckles. Are you around?" "Maybe Skye," Melody walked up to her brother, "he got drunk again and took another trip off the island?"
-
Never has. At least so far it's just been used for alternate adventures and for small adjustments here and there.
-
"See Knuckles. Yeah, that'll be a great idea," enthused Skye. Meanwhile Melody was contemplating, muttering to herself. "Decorate my own room, alone? I'm not sure..." "What's the matter Melody. To lazy to work. Need an army of servants to do everything for you?" Skye joked. There was a blur of motion from Melody's arm and the next instant her knife flew across the corridor and embedded itself in the wall next to Skye's head. He calmly turned to look at it, then pulled it out from the wall. "Your aim's slipping," Skye told Melody with a friendly smile as he handed the knife back. "Didn't even brush past me."

I was kinda hoping for a one-on-one tails vs tails doll at some point. As for the tundra thing, maybe they get shifted around due to the g-wave?

Skye and Melody looked at each other. "Mother might be alive but, after what we've just learn, we don't care," Skye summerised, then broke into a smile. "We've got a new family now, haven't we." Meanwhile, Melody shuffled her feet awkwardly. "Yes... This place.... is bigger.... but.... it doesn't... erm... seem as..... uh.... nice.... Too metal."
-
"Let's just say that neither Melody or I are in a rush to see our mother again," said Skye, hoping to explain away their long faces. "Oh yes, introductions. Sorry I got so excited I forgot. Melody, meet Locke, our new Dad. And this is Dylan. We're gonna help save his world from a were-hog curse." "I... Uh... Um.. Hi... Hello... Nice to... erm.... meet you..." Melody said uncertainly, her hand instinctively playing with the hilt of her knife. "Don't mind Melody. She's just a little nervous around new faces," explained Skye.

Standard possession rules. When you possess someone, your body becomes insubstantial like a ghost and hides inside them.

(ooc: In order to tie up one final loose end for the Kid’s past, I’m going have to inflict another tragedy on them This should be the last one, I hope.) Skye was showing Melody round Haven, when suddenly she grabbed him by the arm. “Hold on a second. How did you suddenly get taller?” she asked her brother. “Um, well. You see. It’s been over a year since you… you…” Skye couldn’t bring himself to finish, and Melody quickly nodded that she understood. Then an idea popped into Skye’s head. “I just thought. Now that you’re alive again, maybe we can go and see Mother. She can’t still be angry at me for your death if you’re alive.” Skye explained. “No Skye,” Melody shook her head. Skye started slightly when he saw Melody doing something she’d never done before, start crying. “I didn’t put the pieces together until I heard your story, but…” “What’s do you mean Melody?” Skye asked. “I think, actually, I’m certain now, that despite what those assassins believed it wasn’t Alicia Acorn who hired them. It was Mother.” “Wh-what?” Skye stammered. “I don’t know what happened between her and Father, but afterword’s she wanted nothing that reminded her of him. Even us.” Melody looked heartbroken at the thought, and Skye had to fight hard to keep his own tears inside. He took Melody by the hand. “That’s in the past. We’ve still got each other. And we have a new family now.” Skye reassured his sister. She managed to smile. “I know. And I’m looking forward to it, but,” Melody sighed slightly, “I’m gonna miss being a princess.”

"C'mon Melody. I'll race you there!," called Skye to his sister as he set off tails whirring. His sister followed only seconds behind. "Um, you might find it a bit sparse since last night though. I'm not sure what happened," Skye called back. (ooc: aww, a nice point to leave for the night. Catch you guys later.)
-
Skye gave Locke a nod then turned to his sister. "Melody? Are you ready to meet your new family." "I...," Melody looked somewhat apprehensive, "I still find it difficult to believe what you told me about Mother and Father. But I trust you. You never could lie that well, your ears always twitch." Melody gave her brother's ears a playful flick, "Okay, I think I'm ready." "Yay!," Skye cheered. "Thank you Locke, we're both ready for our new family. I hope Knuckles won't mind. Actually, I think the last time I saw Knuckles was when he was drunk and leapt off angel island into the water." Behind Skye, Melody started giggling. (ooc: because dreams act on a faster timescale, what was minutes outside was hours for Melody and Skye, so they've had plenty of time to chat."
-
Skye stumbled out of his pod, and in the darkness fumbled over to the second pod. "Melody," he asked hopefully, but there was no reply. He heaved the door to the pop open, and almost instantly a fist lanced out and struck him square on the face. "You stupid idiot. You almost died doing that," came a voice from the darkness. Skye laughed ecstatically while lying on the floor. "Yes, you're back Melody." From the light of Shadow's torch the siblings saw each other, and hugged happily. (ooc: After everything he's been through, Skye deserves something to go right for once. And goodnight shadow)

Thank goodness that pic link is broken for me! :P

"M-my turn I g-guess," Skye stammered nervously as he stepped into the pod. Once again the whirring sound began to build. "We're having trouble locking onto this one. Are you sure there's a target there?" one scientist called out. "Hold on, I've got something," interjected another. "There's strong fluctuations so we'll need to be careful. Locking on and transferring in 3... 2... 1..." There was another bright flash, but the instant it died so too did all the power to the lab with a horrible grinding sound. (ooc: Oh boy, I'm not sure what to do, so many possibilities here. Do I finally give Skye a happy ending, or........... decisions, decisions.)
