“We’ll get right on it. Well, Skye will. I’ll just encourage him!” said Melody happily as she gave Skye a poke with the hilt of her knife. “Calm down Melody, I’m already getting to work. You take over the radio and map watching.” “Sure thing.” “Okay, if I access the security logs for Haven where Dylan is present, I might be able to program an audio system based on his own voice.”

“That growl sounded sad. Skye, do you have any idea how to help Dylan?” “If I was there, yeah. But not when I’m stuck back here.” Skye rubbed his temples hard trying to think of a solution. Suddenly an idea popped it his head. “Agent Jekyll, does your teleporter have a keypad? If it does we might be able to rig up a text to speech system. Give a long growl if you want to try that idea, or a short growl not to, or if you don’t have a keypad. Or… several short growls if you don’t want us to come up with ideas.”

"Try climbing onto the roof of the elevator then. They always fall for that one," Melody spoke over the radio.

Purple glove and chains on the wrist. Anyone we know?

“Um, we’ve got lower floors, but I can’t guarantee they are the lowest floors. There might be more on the map. Er, um… If you go off map I could try and send out sonar pulses from your radio’s to see if I can get a layout, but that could be detectable depending on their security,” Skye suggested. “Don’t worry Dad. Skye and I would never do any pranking that might endanger a mission,” Melody replied to Locke with utter sincerity.

“I think Shadow is ignoring us Melody.” “At least Dylan seems to be in control. I feel sorry for him, forced to transform like that.” “You? Feeling sorry for someone?” Melody looked hurt. “Do you really have such a low opinion of me?” “If I did I wouldn’t have tried to save you.” “That only happened because you found out about Shadow’s dream teleporter machine.” Skye turned to face his sister with a serious look on his face. “Melody, if I thought it would save you I would rip the universe apart to do so.” “Is that what you did?” Melody asked. Skye refused to respond, and both kids were silent for a while. “I wonder if there is any way for Dylan to communicate with everyone? If I was there I could try some kinda spell but…” “I’ve an idea,” said Melody as she grabbed the radio. “Hey, Jekyll. Do’ya know Morse code?”

With their mischief set up the two kids began playing with the radio. Melody went first. "Agent Jekyll? This is Command. Are you still able to fully understand us? Growl once for yes and twice for no." Followed by Skye. "Do you have remote access on your camera Agent Sneaky? If so we can upload the data to Command and have it analysed." "We've managed to rig up a 3-D map of the base based on Dylan's plans. We're tracking your progress on it." "Agent Moody, if you still have your HUD we can send it to you."

Skye scampered back to the control room, giving Melody a thumbs up as he returned. Melody quickly made sure the mic was turned off. “What did you curse the portal with?” Melody asked as Skye retook the command chair. “I stuck with the colour change idea. So, when they come back through the portal, they’ll change to a completely random colour.” “After they dump us behind? Isn’t that a little tame.” Melody sounded slightly disappointed. “Doing anything more would have needed both of us there,” Skye pointed out. “Not to mention more time. Besides, we don’t want to push things too far with Mom and Dad until we have a better idea of how far we can push. The last thing we want to do is break our new family apart so soon.”

The arcane energy faded from sight, as too did the talismans, cloaked by the magic. Skye walked over to the wall mounted camera. “Can you see me Melody?” he asked “Perfectly, camera’s running fine.” Melody responded. “Great. Set it up to record. I can’t wait to see their faces when they get back. I’m on my way to the control room.”

Stepping into the portal room, Skye swiftly set up the three focusing talismans in a triangle around the portal itself. He then stepped into the centre of the triangle, outstretched his arms, and begun challenging arcane energy while muttering unintelligible words underneath his breath. Across the surface of the portal, a film of energy began to appear in a multi-coloured crescendo, then it faded into invisibility.

Skye flicked the mic off. “They’re moving faster than I thought Melody. How’re you getting on?” “Just finished Skye,” Melody smiled as she held up what could be mistaken for modern artwork designs made from spoons. “Great. Take over the radio. I’m gonna head to the portal room with these.”

Mighty seems so sad in that collage.

"How is Greybread evident?," asked Skye after switching in the mic. "There's tones of people who have grey beards." "As for Jekyll..." Skye couldn't finish and just ended up giggling over the radio.

“You're coming through load and clear Agent Moody. And sorry Agent Greybeard,” Skye said over the radio, “we need to keep code up in case our frequency is being hacked. Now, what does Agent Jekyll have to say?” “Got ‘em,” Melody called as she sprinted back into the control room. Skye turned the mic off again. “Brilliant. Think you can make three focusing talismans out of what you have there?” “Making talismans is more your thing Skye.” “True. But you can make them faster than me.”

Skye switched off the mic on the radio. "That's them all through Melody." His face broke into an evil grin. "So what d'ya want to use. Amethyst? Silver? Jade? Wormwood?" asked Melody with an almost mirror image grin. "The cutlery at breakfast looked kinda fancy, so I'd say silver." "On it." Melody sped off, and Skye turned on the mic again. "This is Command. Agent Greybeard and Agent Moody, are you receiving me, over?"

"So, have they all headed out through the portal Skye," Melody asked her brother. (ooc: as I am a little confused whether that's a yes or no yet. :P )

I'd agree everyone is closer to the games than comics now, except they seem to have the worst of their traits in the games exaggerated.

Wait, are the new mods having a duel here?

"Sounds like fun. Don't stay away too long then. Good luck everybody!"

"Mom, Dad," said Skye, "be careful, okay." "They'll be fine Skye," said Melody, "you worry too much. Of course not just Mom and Dad but everyone will come back. You will, won't you." Just at the end of the sentence a little hint of concern entered Melody's voice.

Melody's face turned into a massive grin, and she whispered something in Skye's ear. His ears gave a little twitch as a grin appeared on his face. "Okay, we'll stay here and keep an eye on all of you. I'll correlate any information you find with the data we already have. Surely we'll find something."

"That's never stopped me from going out before. I've been in danger," began Melody, then stopped when Skye grabbed her arm. "Please Melody. Stay. I just got you back, I don't want to loose you again." For a moment it looked like Melody was going to argue, then she gave into her brother's pleading look. "Okay then, I'll stay."

And there was much rejoicing.

"But I..." began Skye, the he changed his mind "if you say so Dad, I'll stay here. And Dylan, see if you can find out what happens to the cybernetics: Do they stay as they are, do they change shape and size like cloths do, or do they become flesh and blood. I think that might be part of the solution to this problem. Or I might be barking up the wrong tree," Despite her brother agreeing to stay, Melody didn't look as happy. "Please, please let me help Dad. I'm no good at sitting around watching, and I'm fast enough to get out of trouble if your worried." (ooc: given I'm at work all day and the kids are, well, kids, yeah they should stay behind. Doesn't mean their gonna like it though. And now that Insanity Skye/Miles is gone, I thought I'd use the same method for Melody that Locke uses for Red.)

"Hey, we're coming too!" called out Skye. "You're not leaving us behind," added Melody. "Oh, and Dylan... do your DEL use cybernetics? If so, what happens to the cybernetics when the transformation occurs?"
