“Getting onto it now. Hopefully I can find something before the cops, erm…. I think the cops are getting suspicious.” Zet put the radio away and turned to Ziona. “No current warrant’s that we have records of. Doesn’t mean she’s not covering for someone though. It also sounds like the Captain is getting impatient. He may pull rank on Sargent Zpectre.”

“We’re still here Dylan. Sorry, just got distracted with the Cops and Mom. Sorry, I haven’t had a chance to look at the data. The cops burst in just after the radio went dead.” “I’m… I’m not leading anywhere…. I’m just…. curious” Meldoy finished. Both Zone cops gave her a long hard look. “Zet, call up command. See if there are any other Moebians with outstanding warrants. She’s covering for someone.” “Told ya you couldn’t trust a Moebian Ziona,” Zet grinned at his partner as he switched on his radio.

Skye and Melody looked at each other as they heard Red start to break down. “Don’t worry Mom,” Skye tried his best to keep all the worry out of his own voice, “you’re perfectly safe right now. It’s just me and Melody in trouble.” “I’ll try and find out what I can. I’ve a good reason to ask, and these idiots won’t know what I’m really after.” Melody took a deep breath and turned back to the Zone Cops, fighting hard against the urge so simply tackle both of them. “Look, it’s been… pointed out I’m already dead. So… what do you… intend to do with me…” “It’s simple in your case. We return shortly after the point where you died,” Zet responded. “And what… if I wasn’t dead, huh? What… if there were… two of me?” “Wait,” interrupted Ziona. Although not visible through the faceplate, her eyebrow was raised, “You’re leading us on here. Why?”

"I'm so glad I've got headphones on, they're standing right behind me. Thankfully, the seem to be arguing. And according to them its not the first time they've had to deal with people coming back in an unusual fashion. And Dy... Agent Jekyll, that's probably the best plan right now."

"We're all good here, everything fine. Just a jamming signal we had to break through at your end." Skye then killed the connection to Locke but kept all the others open. "Okay, listen carefully. We've got a group of Zone Cops here intending to take Melody and I away, and anyone else they happen to find in the wrong Zone. Spectre is trying to keep them busy. But don't tell Dad till the missions over, he'll just worry. "Skye, that other voice sounded kinda like you," "Doubt that. It's the wrong time.... Which.... means..." "Do ya' think this once nicer?" "You need to ask," muttered Skye darkly.

The two Zone Cops continued there discussion. Meanwhile, Melody and Skye held a whispered conversation as Skye finished his attempt to bypass the jamming. “We need to tell Dad about this.” “We can’t Melody.” “WHAT? ARE YOU INSANE?... Erm, I didn’t mean it like that.” “No its… If Dad hears about what’s happening hear, he’s gonna worry about us and might do something stupid, maybe even get himself killed trying to rush back. Until they’re safely away from the base, we can’t tell him.” Melody looked like she was going to argue, then an alterative idea occurred to her. “We might not be able to tell Dad, but we could tell the others.” Skye’s face lit up at his sister suggestion. “Good idea. I’ll get to it if connection is fixed.” Skye flipped on the mic. “Hello, can anyone hear us? Are you okay over there?”

(ooc: well, so much for me separating the kids for their own mini-adventure till the DEL bit is done! Oh, and Benedict Cumberbatch FTW!!!) “You maybe, but I doubt it,” Zet snorted, indicating towards the knife by her side. “But your brother, is read about what he did on that world he conquered. The casualties reports, a whole world strip mined…” Zet shook his head, “No way anyone with a shred of decency could have pulled that off.” Skye had been trying to ignore the cops and fix the radio problem, but wasn’t able to take it anymore. “It was a different person who did those things I… I wasn’t even in my right mind. I don’t even remember half of what I’ve done. Please, I just want a second chance.” “You’re trying to pled both insanity AND amnesia. Ha, good luck with that kid, no one’s gonna buy it.” Mocked Zet “I dunno Zet. I don’t think he’s lying. Maybe he should…” “Not our place to make that call Ziona. Besides, for all we know little Skye here could be a consummate actor. Wouldn’t put it past him after everything else.”

“C’mon, c’mon,” muttered Skye as he went back to the computer, “there’s gotta be a way past this security.” Melody stood behind him supportively while to two cops started chating to each other. “I’m not sure about this Zet. He’s just a kid after all.” “Have you seen his rap sheet Ziona? He’s a Moebian, and one of the worst at that. They’re all vicious scum. We’ve almost more Moebians in jail than the rest of the Zones put together. ” Hearing that Melody swung around, her anger fighting against her shyness. “So just… because most of us… aren’t that nice it’s impossible… for two of us to try and better ourselves?” (ooc: You have no idea how temped I was to make one of the Zone Cops Zina, but that would have been wayyyy to cruel. And now that Shadow has made Crowley say ‘Shall we begin’ and has mentioned him having a cultured voice, now I’m hearing him as Benedict Cumberbatch.)

The Zone Cop pulled out his communicators and spoke some words, listen to the reply. "They may stay for now but we cannot remove their suppression collars. Our superior is en route." The two Zone cops removed the handcuffs from the kids. "Thank you," Skye gasped to Spectre. Melody almost instantly made to tackle them but a restraining hand on her arm from Skye made he change her mind. Skye headed over to the console, rubbing at his neck where the collar was and began once more attempting to bypass the jamming signal. There was another flash, and a third figure appeared. (ooc: Locke, given you're playing Spectre I'd guess it'd make sense for you to take Zpectre as well. Though I don't think Zpectre will be happy when he hear's the important mission is taking place in another zone with two others from Melody's and Skye's time/zone. Oh, and we are still in the control room. )

(ooc: Actually I'd imagine Spectre and Zpectre are as stubborn as each other and the conversation would go nowhere. Hmm, do they call in superior or just teleport away?)

The Zone Cop sighed and handed over a tablet. "These are out warrants for the two. If you indeed wish we can call our superior." (ooc: Who I'm thinking should be Zone Cop Zpecter! :P )

“The boy was not being controlled at the time so those accusations stand. You may be a Guardian, but in matters outside your own Zone you have no authority. Please allow us to do our job.” (ooc: Actually, the Insanity was holding Miles back. So the actions were Skye’s.)

“Finitevus is outside our jurisdiction until he begins taking action outside his zone. As for the girl, trust us, we’ve dealt with similar cases before. But your Zone is unstable, three genesis waves and several other recent incidents have critically destabilised the structure of this Zone. These two remaining could crack it apart. And the recent g-wave only affected a limited amount of Zones, and does not remove the intent behind the charges. Finally age is irrelevant as far as Zone crimes are concerned.” “If you wish to lay claim to these children you will have to bring it up with our superiors. Until then, they are coming with us.” (ooc: Unless Locke? Unless? And they might come for everyone else. At the moment, the idea is Nega has pulled back from the war for now, so the Zone cops are catching up on the backlog. And Skye, given his crimes, is high on that list.)

“Sir, both these children are not native to this Zone or Timeline, and need to be returned in order to prevent further instabilities to what is an already unstable Zone. Second, this one,” indicating Skye, “is wanted on several charges. We have an arrest warrant for the boy and a recovery warrant for the girl.” “Please help us,” begged Skye, “I want to put my past behind me, not suffer for it.” “I’m sorry I took your dartboard. Really, really sorry. Don’t let them take us.” (ooc: The plan was to see how Skye and Melody act we separated from each other, and no surrogates to take their places. Just a little character exercise while everyone else is having fun with the DEL. Or it could be extended to be the next adventure, that choice is up to everyone else.)

(ooc: I was going on the assumption that either one of the guardians would arrive in time to overhear the explanation below, or it would be recorded on the security system. I’ll hold off the teleport out if you want to add anything. And if I get my timing right I might be able to end this little sidequest around the same time everyone else gets back from the mission. The two zone cops moved over to the helpless pair, pulling out handcuffs and snapping them in place. “Melody Prower of Moebius,” one spoke, “you have been forcibly relocated from your home Zone and Timeline. You will be returned there forthwith.” “No,” shrieked Melody, struggling against her restraints. “You can’t do that.” “Skye Prower of Moebius,” the second began, “You are charged with 79 counts of Zone Trespassing, 3 counts of Attempted Wilful Destruction of a Zone, and one count of Conquering a Non-Native Zone. You have been tried in your absence and sentenced to life imprisonment in Zone Jail.” “Please don’t,” pleaded Skye, “I’m not that person any more. I have a family here now. Please.”

And, well, my idea, but you were the one who suggested putting it in now! :P Step 2: Introduce the one group who can effortlessly infiltrate Haven and have an interest in the kids.) In the control room the was a dull yellow flash. Skye, being too absorbed in the computer, failed to notice but Melody turned towards the source. “Uh, Skye,” she asked, “are people standing sideways common around here?” Skye spun round in his seat, his worst fears conformed. Standing on the wall as if to them it was a floor were two helmeted figures in red, gold and green uniforms. Skye leapt out of his chair and grappled his sister by the hand. “Zone Cops,” Skye muttered, then shouted “Melody, RUN!”. One of the uniformed figures threw a circular object discus fashion towards the retreating kids. The collar caught Skye round the neck and he dropped to the floor. Melody wheeled around and charged at the two Zone Cops. “How DARE you hurt my brother,” she yelled, before a second collar caught around her neck and she dropped, her speed drained from her.

(ooc: Blame Dylan for what is about to happen. It was his suggestion, kinda. Step 1: Disable the radio link in a way that won’t make Locke think the kids are in danger.) The screens relaying information from the other Zone suddenly turned black and the receiver on the mic went dead. “What happened Skye?” “I don’t know, I can’t get a signal through,” Skye commented. He began rapidly typing at the computer, attempting to find a cause and solution. “It looks like there’s a jamming signal coming from the DEL base. I don’t know what triggered it though. Hopefully no one’s been caught.” “Can you get a signal past the jamming?” “I’m trying Melody, I’m trying.” “What about the data? If it’s not being uploaded how can we find a cure?” “Don’t worry about that. They’re taking hard copies as well. The uplink was just to speed the process up.”

"Okay. I'll wait. But if anything bad happens it's your fault." "That'd only be more likely with you running full pelt into the situation," Skye muttered. Melody glowered at Skye as he switch the mic on. "Ok Agent Greybeard. We have the glasses on constant record now."

I've seen an animated version of that. It's somewhat terrifying!

Skye flicked off the mic. "It looks like Dylan, Mom and creepy Crowley might be in an awkward situation." "Is there anything we can do?" "Not from here." "Right then, I'm gonna join them." "Are you crazy? First, they're not actually in danger yet. Second," Skye took a quick glance at the mic to double check that this time it was switched off, "the portal's rigged, remember?"

I really, really hope it's an attempt to clear the air, because anything else, such as an attempt to promote his own series, is NOT gonna go down well.
