"I hope everyone calms down. We can't fail just because we fall apart at the last second." "Huh? You say something Melody?"
-
"Oh! Ok, yeah. End of the world. I'll get back to work while someone prepares a teleport powerful enough to take us and the syphon to the Ark."
-
"Actually it's not's quite that simple. But I take your point. And no Melody, you are staying." "You're can't tell me what to do!" "Please. Stay near the portal. If this world is doomed you'll have a chance to escape. Or, if the DEL succeed and we don't, you'll be safe here,"
-
"If.. if you're sure Dad. But if anything happens promise me you'll find a way back to find Melody." "You're not leaving me behind again." "Melody, I..."
-
"Because... Because if something does happen up there I... I don't want Melody to lose two members of the family." Skye then gave a nervous laugh. "Besides, I'm the only member of the family who hasn't come back from the dead yet..."
-
"Uh, well, actually... This time I want to be alone."
-
"I won't know exactly what I need until something breaks, so as many tools and spare parts as we can take or get up there. And as much luck as I can muster, because if I'm next to it when it malfunctions and I can't fix it..."
-
"Uh... I maybe... might.. possibly have it ready in one. But I really, really wouldn't guarantee it working if that was the case. Unless I was right there to sort any problems instantly."
-
"That'll work perfectly... In fact... how safe is the Ark? If I could build this in place it'll give me longer to work at it. I wouldn't need to worry about finishing then moving. I can keep working till the last possible second. I guess it's gonna take me two hours to get this working, three if you want to be certain it'll work."

Skye paused. "Several bases linked together via the power of the Master Emerald in order to expel Dark Gaia across the world simultaneously.... Could be. Dylan, are there many other DEL bases? Could they have a network like that?"
-
"Space would be better. I has to cover the entire planet after all." Skye disappeared back underneath the machine, his voice now muffled as he held a screwdriver in his mouth. "The closer to the ground it is the more powerful I need to make the draining field, which in turn makes it more unstable."
-
Skye stuck his head put from the home-made machine that currently resembled the inside of a clock radio with delusions of grandeur. "Do you have a rocket kicking around anywhere? It's be much easier to have this thing work from orbit."

The Zone Cops looked at each other, considering Melody’s request. “Given the circumstances, I think we should.” “It’s on your head Ziona,” Zet said dismissively. Ziona pulled out a remote and activated it, causing both Skye’s and Melody’s collars to drop to the floor. For a moment, it looked as if Melody was preparing to spring and attack the Zone Cops once more, but instead she mumbled a ‘thank you’ and began rocketing around the basement.

Maybe he meant 'why' in an exasperated fashion?

Universalamander?

C'mon, it's not that funny!

Skye was working furiously, completely focused on the task and not really aware of what was going on around him. Melody dropped a pile of parts next to her brother, then faced the Zone Cops. "Do you think... you could take this... collar off? I'm not nearly.... as much use with it."

As we seem to be running out of possibilities guessing time: Rouge?

The kids headed down the stairs followed by the two Zone Cops. “Wow, this place is a mess. More like a junk yard than a basement.” Skye handed Melody his journal. “I’ve marked the page. You find what we need. I’ll start putting it together. I hope we have time.” Skye turned to face the two Zone Cops. “Either of you two know much about tech?” They shook their heads. “Oh well, that’ll just make things tighter then,” Skye sighed. He opened his radio. “If anyone there is good with tech or can call in someone who is, now would be a good time to say so. Otherwise the were-curse might get unleashed before we’re ready here.”

*shudder* No high school drama stories. Please.

A cop show or mission impossible parody?
-
As long as the old RPM keeps going! :P At least until it's natural end, don't want to have in mumbling around on life support.

"The basement should be ok Dylan. But... if we're pushed for time I may need to launch from the basement, which will destroy your nice house... might, hopefully it won't come to that..."
-
"It's okay Mom," said Skye, though he was unwilling to break off the hug. "We'll have plenty of time together once we save all the Zones. Um, Dylan. Could you show us to your lab please?" Zet turned and saw Ziona glowering at him. "What?" he asked, confused.
-
Both children returned the hug fondly. "Thank you Mom, thank you." "It's only gonna be for the best Mom, I promise." "Ahem," Zet cleared his throat, "I hate to interrupt this bonding moment, but there are several Zones at stake and the clock is going tick, tick, tick." (ooc: You know, I think this is the first time the kids have had a 'moment' with Red.)
