"My, aren't you a gentleman. I'll take, hmm, whatever the traditional beach drink is for the Prime Zone. And something with a good kick for Zet."

"You have no idea. Thanks by the way, but it does hurt my throat something awful. I could use a drink." She turned back, "And I think Zet could use one too, he looks a little shell shocked. Don't think he's been on the receiving end before."

"To late for that," said Ziona, "he's awake." "You kicked over my sandcastle," Zet was yelling. "Well, it looks better now that it did before," his opponent shouted back. "YOU TWO! KNOCK IT OFF NOW!" yelled Ziona with a terrifying amount of authority. Both men meekly backed away from each other.

"That's true." Ziona looked between Shadow and Rouge. "I guess the two of you must be used to it by.... Oh dear, will you excuse me? I think Zet is about to start a fight with his competitor."

"That's good in one way, but it must make your life very unpredictable."

"Sounds like our Captain," added Ziona. "Though in our case he was just liked flexing his power. He did know his job. I suspect yours wasn't so useful." Meanwhile, Skye and Melody were moving through the crowd, calling for Locke.

"You've been away for a little while? Well, while you were gone I took part in this competition and..." Melody began to recount what had just happened a few minutes ago before Skye started dragging her away. "Yes, yes Melody. You can tell them all later. Let's find Dad so you can tell him first, alright?" (ooc: and back to work again.... *sigh*)

"Please to meet you. This is Melody, my sister." "Hiya Hope." "Have you seen Dad? I lost sight of him in the crowd." (ooc: Neither Hope or Shadow reacted to the 'uncle' bit? Heh!)

(ooc: Tempting as it is to make it those concert tickets, complete with backstage passes, I think the ice cream idea is safer for now.) Melody stood grinning like an idiot at the massive book of free ice cream coupons, so Skye walked over to her and began dragging her away. "C'mon. Dad want's to see us." Skye saw the grouping of people around Shadow and called out. "Hi Uncle Shadow. Good to see you're back. Who's your friend?"

"I understand. But you don't need to try and exorcise it all at once. Smaller steps may be easier." ----------------- "Huh? Oh, ok Glen. Will do." Melody jumped down, and Skye winced as Melody got ahead or her illusion for a brief second. He just hoped the flash of yellow and purple would be put down to a trick of the light as Melody went to pick up the prize. (ooc: No idea what the prize should be, someone else call it.)

Melody was milking her victory, enjoying every moment in the spotlight. Skye was concentrating furiously, trying to maintain the illusion despite the distractions, and Melody's rapid movements. "Red, if you want to talk about it I'm right here. Or, I'm sure no one would mind if we went back to Haven.".said Ziona/

(ooc: Well three of my characters are distracted, and the fourth is guessing it's something to do with Moebius Hope. And as a Zone Cop she might even know what... oh wait, future Moebius Hope, she won't know yet!) "It's Okay Red, it's okay. I understand. Come on, lets take a walk for you to catch your breath, alraight?"

Ziona saw Red start to panic, and went over to comfort her. "Red, are you alright?" Meanwhile those in the competition continued their endeavours. So far, it looked like Melody was either not tempted to cheat, or didn't realise the bluff. (ooc: at this stage the competition is over whenever people want it to be. And yeah, Zave is Wave... hmm, would Zwave have been better? Stupid Z names....)

"Digital please Dylan, it will save me having to scan them. And Zet isn't in a kid's competition. More there's only a few adults taking part in his group. I think he's assured 3rd place, despite his disaster of a castle. Pleased to meet you by the way, even if not in person."

"Small I think. I doubt I'll be able to send them in person, and the bandwidth between Zones is absolutely terrible."

"If I could have a few copies? I'm sure his little mechanic back home will love to see them."

"Once he's finished a job and relaxing with his buddies," Zonia replied, "or when he's with Zave. He's just uptight when he's on duty, and as this jobs on duty all the time...."

Even without magic Melody was doing well. She was approaching the sandcastle more like a sculpture, and was showing some previously untapped artistic talents. Skye meanwhile was doing alright. Sure, the kid was an experting at building stuff. But then, sand wasn't exactly the best building material. Zet... well, he was definitely enthusiastic...

"Uh, ok then," Skye responded, shaking his head slightly confused as he entered the roped off area. He waves to Melody who was in a different section, who waved enthusiastically back, and then to Zet, who gave a nod of acknowledgement. (ooc: Ok, goodnight then!)

"Ridiculous? How so?" asked Skye as he walked over to the competitors area.

"Skye and I are signed in, so we're good to go. And Skye, STOP POKING ME WITH THAT MAGIC DETECTOR OF YOUR'S." "Um, yeah. Sorry Melody." Skye took Glen aside. "Glen, this detector won't work. Er, the illusions that I've put up are causing a positive reading. But Melody doesn't know that, so just act like it's working, ok?" "I'll just watch the kids enjoy the competition from the sidelines," said Ziona, giving a significant glance at Zet as if to include in the the 'kids' bracket.

(ooc: Stupid typo. Yeah, real good thing we didn't go with the singing contest as this hypothetical situation is just getting worse and worse.) "If you detect her using magic just give me a wave. I'll disenchant it as quietly as I can." Skye whispered to Glen on their way back. "Zet's doing what?" asked Ziona as she sat up from her sunbathing. "It's only so I can keep a close eye on the kids," Zet tried to assure them.

"I don't think so. It looked like they were handing out free buckets for the competition. Just keep waving that scanner at Melody. The temptation might be to much for her, even if she means not to cheat." Melody was looking through the forms, noting that her and Skye would be in different age categories. Then her eye caught a name on the Adult list. "Zet??? You're taking part?" (ooc: Thought of another reason why it shouldn't be a singing contest: "Ok kid, these are your song choices." "Erm, I don't know any of those." "Huh? How can you not know any of Mina's songs?" "Uhhhhh..." )

(occ: Neither Melody or Skye can sing! Well, they've never done so before. Easy enough to have two competitions going on at the same time though.) "I'll sign us up while you get that evil spying device. Why you would ever build something like that is beyond me!" Melody called after them.

(ooc: Darn it. I'm no good at coming up with competitions. Hmm, something on a beach. And it can't be physical so Melody can't cheat. I think back to one of my previous ideas.) "I can fly Glen, I'm often higher than you. But it looks like a sandcastle building competition." "Great. Bet I can win that." "No magic Melody." "Aww. That's not fair." But then she smiled. "But how would they know?" "Glen, back in the car in my shirt pocket there a small device with a red light and a needle on it. It flashes if someone happens to be using magic nearby."
