How can he fly with his tails? The joints required wouldn't allow blood to travel into them. I guess he just isn't bound by the normal laws of biology..... well, normal for Mobius at any rate.

Skye was laughing as well as he knelt down and set up the blanket. "I know, I know. Not the most impressive trick in the word. But it does save a heap of time." He opened the hamper and began unpacking. "Let's see, hmm, I might have gone over the top. Sausage rolls, who knows how many different sandwiches, three different kinds of quiche, carrot sticks, potato salad, cocktail sausages, cheese board, biscuits for the cheese, apple juice, orange juice, tea, Brownies, fruit salad.... and I think there's strawberry's and fresh cream in there too." Skye had pulled out more food than the hamper should have been able to hold. ------------------------- "Brilliant. I can't wait to see the look on everyone's faces when we show up with this."

He's the only non-hedgehog character to do it frequently. And then only recently as well.

"Heh, I think you might be right. And I had a massive breakfast too. Guess I burned off a lot of calories with that ritual. Give me just a sec." Skye closed his eyes and began casting the spell. A few moments later there was a full picnic hamper next to them, complete with blanket. Skye gave a deep breath. "I hope I got the choice of food right, I've never been on a proper picnic before. But it will taste good, I promise. It's one of the reasons I learned how to cook. You can't summon a proper quiche unless you know how to make it." --------------------------------- "You never know! There's only one way to find out. Keep your eyes open for that machine!"

"I know. Just wishful thinking. Or would Crowley singing be more of a nightmare?"

Nicole did it once. Ok, that was in cyberspace, but still....

"I don't think I need to 'unleash' it's power," Skye smiled back. "I'm just creating a picnic, not a banquet for the whole island! But you're right, I was misguided. More than that. But I'm different now, and I never, ever want to go back." ------------------------ "We'll see what happens," Melody smiled, chuckling to herself at the image. "Hmm, if Shadow does sing he and Mom might... very slighty might, be able to convince Crowley to sing as well. As for Dad, I don't think he'll resist a sad pouting look from me!

"I was just thinking, if you wanted to, I could use my magic to, uh, summon up a picnic for us. Though," he half turned to look at the Master Emerald, "I would need to borrow a little bit of power so I don't end up unconscious!" ----------------------------------- "Basically better? Try infinitely better! Hey Hope, if we do get a karaoke machine and take it back to the hotel, do you think you and Rouge could persuade Shadow to sing?"

Melody laughed as well. "Maybe we should do a duet and find out." She took a quick glance around the store. "They've gotta have a karaoke machine here!"

Skye gave a laugh. "We're getting the ticket's from a friend so I don;t think we need to worry about cost. I'll just need to let him know someone else is coming." Another idea sprung into Skye's mind. "Tikal, uh, this might sound a little strange. I know you're a spirit, but, uh, are you able to eat?" ----------------------------------- "Dad and Skye heard me sing? What did they think? Was I good?" Melody breathlessly asked. "And, really," she continued a bit more sombre, "It's not that strange. Me and Skye, we didn't have what you'd call a happy childhood. But that's all changed now. At least for me. I think Skye is still depressed slightly by the past. I just wish something would happen to really lift his spirits."

The logical part of Skye's brain was still trying to analyse what was going on, but it overloaded and shut down the moment Tikal hugged him. Skye hugged her back, feeling ecstatic. He cradled the leaf gently. "Oh, thankyouthankyou Tikal. You've no idea how much this means to me. It is great, and you'll be able to see much more of the world now too." An idea occurred to Skye. "I'm.... uh, going to a concert soon. I don't think you'll have even been to one before. Would you like to?" spilled out of Skye's mouth far to fast. ------------------------------ "Cool, thanks for the suggestion Hope. There's a sample station there. I'll have a listen to some tracks." She then turned to Honey. "I, uh, well, didn't really have much of a chance to sing until recently. I'm not even sure if I can."

"I'll always be here for you Tikal," Skye said. Then his brain kicked in. 'Why did I say that? It sounds a little extreme.' he thought to himself, 'In fact, why I'm I so excited just to be talking with her. This makes no sense.' -------------------- Melody almost ran full pelt into the story, but manged to check herself and just walked in instead. Slightly overawed at the choice, she turned to Hope. "I've haven't listened to much music before, do you have any suggestions? What kind of music do you like?"

"S-sorry, I thought access was limited to the shrine," explained Skye. He tried to think why he'd been blushing, but just couldn't come up with a single reason for it. "I... I don't know why," Skye truthfully explained, "I just thought that you were a really nice girl, the nicest I've met, and I... I uh, really, really wanted... uh, want to be friends. ------------------------------- "Oh no, it's not terrible. But sometimes you can miss out on things if you're not careful!"

"You don't... actually I don't think I told you my name when we last talked. That was just telepathy. M-my name's Skye, and I think I was allowed here because me and my sister have been adopted by Locke. Though I would have expected someone to be hanging around here." ---------------------------- "Yeah, that's a better plan. Good job I'm not in charge. I always do stuff without thinking." (ooc: it was meant to be)

The moment Tikal kissed him half of Skye's brain just locked-up. "I...I... T-thank you Tikal... I-It's no t-trouble at all, n-no one should b-be alone." he finally managed to speak. Skye was immensely glad he'd preformed the ritual to remove his stammer. He hated to think what he'd sound like otherwise. ---------------------------------------------- "Well, I don't know my way around the island, but how about..... that way?" suggested Melody, pointing in a random direction. (ooc: you're a great optimist Dylan.)

That would make sense, as in universe Marine has claimed to have used it before (SU 1 I think????)... Then again, this IS Marine we're talking about, so take that with a pinch of salt.

Skye felt himself blushing at Tikal's comments. "I... I didn't know you could do that! Oh, uh, sorry I'm being rude. Can I get you anything?" Skye asked with a smile. ------------------------------- "It's no fun to plan too much in advance! Let's just see where we end up," replied melody with boundless enthusiasm and energy. (ooc: I'm not sure if that's possible Dylan, unfortunately, given the whole emerald spirit thing. Then again, this is RPM, so if there IS a way we'll bloody well find it! ;) )

I was expecting that as well. It certainly seemed to be building up that way. Might have been a tease for the end, as Dylan suggested.

Skye gave a started 'Yipe' and jumped back, utterly surprised. "You...? How...? Wait, did you come out or did I go in? asked Skye in a mild state of shock. ------------------------------ "If you need to worry about drowning while drinking, life ain't worth living," Melody called back as she began to leave. "And I bet he's making it up Dylan!"

Skye to a sip of his drink then put it down. "It's such a lovely view up here. It's a shame you can't enjoy it yourself." --------------------------------- "Just one sec." Melody refilled her glass and took a long drink from it. "Ok, now I'm ready."

Skye didn't notice the appearance of the girl. From where he was sitting he looked over the island as opposed to at the emerald directly. He paused reading for a moment. "Hmm, I could do with a drink." He concentrated for a moment, and a small bottle of soda appeared in his hand. ---------------------- "That'll be great, Thank you so much," Melody responded to Honey's offer.

Melody had just taken a gulp of water when she heard Hope and Locke's comments. Slightly embarrassed, she eyes darted from one to the other. She managed to swallow the water with some effort. "I, um, yeah. I kinda... got a bit to into it... and, er, started singing along. I'm ok Hope. Normally I don't even talk for that long, let alone sing." Melody gave a small smile. "But if you and Honey are going out I'd live to come along if that's alright. And I'd love to get some CD's Mom, but I'd need to borrow Dad's card to pay with."

Melody came out of here room, holding a glass of water which she was taking large gulps out of. "Do we have any more CD's? I've listened to these two." she asked, her voice slightly raspy from extend use.
