As the dragon reeled under the hail of bullets and began to fall, Melody hurled her star at the dragon, severing several tendons in it's wing. ------------------------- "I think your priorities need checking!" Ziona smiled back.
-
"I wasn't forgetting. But dragon first, amusing polar bear story once said dragon has learned not to mess with us!" ---------------------- "Even now, you're still trying?" Ziona asked with a laugh.
-
Melody pulled out a throwing star. "I really hope so. Cause this is all I've got left. Bombs are gone and I left my knives over there!" She peered over and cast a critical eye over the dragon's wings. "C'mon, show me an exposed muscle..." ----------------------- "You should do it more often Glen. It will help you. Hmm, maybe I should learn how to do this massage thing and return that favor as well."
-
Melody ducked under cover as a wave of fire swept above the platform. "I don't think they were expecting the players to be an assassin, a GUN mechanic who's trying to outgun her walking arsenal of a robot, and a cat who seems to be no stranger to weird fights. Or for one of them to do the insane thing and actually jump on it's back. If we had just shot at it, this would be a LOT harder!"
-
"No worries! You didn't know," called back Melody as she waited for the dragon to pass nearby, then threw her bombs towards it's wings.
-
"Good idea!" exclaimed Melody as she began pulling out the last of her demo charges. "But please don't say 'plummet' Hope."
-
"Actually, maybe we should have kept the game pause for a bit longer! Cause now those back generators have been destroyed, how do we kill it now?"
-
"When we're this close? Not a chance," replied Melody. She was a little breathless, but seemed back to her old self. "Besides, I want a distraction right now, and we're standing in one."
-
"I'm not falling, I'm not falling..." Melody slowly came back round to her senses. "Honey? Hope? I... uh.... Sorrry, I don't know what came over me." She got to her feet, somewhat wobbly, and walked to the dge of the platform. Melody forced herself to look down, but felt perfectly fine. Not a twinge of fear. It obviously hadn't been the height alone that had triggered that flashback. "I think I'm okay now. Shall we get back to the game?" Melody asked with a small smile. -------------------------- Ziona placed a hand on Glen's shoulder. "Yes, you are a good person. And if you stay a good person, you'll find a way to keep going."
-
Melody was back on the floating platform, but didn't seem to be aware of it. She curled herself up, repeating "I don't wanna die," over and over. ------------------- "I see. I'm surprised you cared so much about him."
-
Without meaning to Melody looked down, her fingers beginning to slip off the knife, and saw the ground far, far below. At the sight, something in her mind snapped her back to that moment on the roof. She remembered falling, she could hear herself scream. She could feel the impact as she hit the ground. "I don't wanna die," she whispered to herself, "I don't wanna die." -------------- "That was incredibly thoughtful of you Glen. But I think you need it more than he does. Even without it, he still has his sister and his foster parents."
-
The dragon reared in the air and Melody was throw off her feet. Once again, she used her daggers to stop herself from falling. -------------------- "I hope you mange to fill that blank space someday. But I don't understand. Why did you give it away?"
-
With an earsplitting roar the dragon shot flame towards the platform. "Oh no you don't. Not at my friends," Melody hissed, and pressed the detonator. (ooc: So is it out, injured, or about to go one-winged-angel on us?) -------------------------- "You can say that again," smiled Ziona, then blinked with surprise at Glen's statement about Skye. "You gave him a pendant? If it was so important for you, why?"
-
"Are you kidding! This! Is! AWESOME!" called back Melody as she dodged another beam, before the dragon turned it's head towards the ship. "You might want to duck girls. Dragon's giving you the evil eye." But with it distracted, Melody swiftly planted the remaining bombs. -------------------------- "Okay, maybe it's more what you say can sometime be more easily taken the wrong way. But what about Skye?""
-
The dragon opened it's mouth, but rather than a jet of flame, it was somehow condensed into a thin white hot beam. Melody threw herself to the side out of the way. "Hey! Could use a little help here!" she called out. Drawing her throwing stars, she hurled them towards the dragons eyes. It shook it's head in agony and it's whole body thrashed. but Melody was able to keep her balance, and used the opportunity to plant demo charges on two of it's power cores. ----------------- "Well, just there you tried to make a joke. But it came out sounding like you were a bad masseuse, or worse. And then there was... keep it right there, that's perfect ... that time when Skye had just gone through that colour change, and what you said to him caused him to run off."
-
Melody could make out Hope's shout and cocked her head in confusion, before climbing onto the dragons back proper. She quickly moved to the nearest glowing... whatever it was and pulled out a demo charge. As she did so, the dragon's head turned to face her. "Uh... hello there. You do realise breathing fire over your back is the worst move you could do, right? Right?" -------------------- "Glen, what I mean is... wow, you are good at this... I was saying, sometimes you say stuff, and it... you mean to help or be jokey with it, but it just comes out wrong, and has the opposite effect."
-
"That things big enough you might be able to keep going! Right, three, two, one..." Melody ran forward and leapt off the platform as the dragon swooped underneath it. She drew both knives as she flew through the air, and as she crashed into the dragon's flack she jabbed them both in as handholds.
-
"Really? How nice of it to make it easy!" Melody took a good look at the oncoming monster, then headed to the other side of the platform. "Don't try this at home kids," she grinned, as she prepared for a running jump. -------------- "That.... Glen, you know sometimes you say too much... I think that may have been one of those times."
-
"Given the size of that thing, I think we'll be able to see where to shoot before it gets close!" There was a loud roar in the distance. ------------------ "Man of many talents eh? Well, until I know just how good you are, I'll stick with the foot one."
-
"Well, let's set it up for an opening volley then. No sense in wasting time!"
-
""And it's gonna be on top of us soon. Uh, do we have any steering or weapons on this flying boat or whatever it is?" -------------------------- "You know how to massage feet?" Ziona asked with a cocked eyebrow.
-
"Huh boy. I hope that thing is actually much closer than I think. Otherwise...."
-
"No, but then my objective screen doesn't seem to be working. Nor do I have that radar you mentioned earlier... Might have that have something to do with the 'turn off auto-aids' option I chose at the start?" --------------------- "I think the worst part will be the foot," Ziona joked, trying to lighten the mood.
-
Melody walked through the door and looked around. They were surrounded by clouds, an the flying frame they were on creaked slightly. "Well, this looks... exposed." (ooc: let's just ignore that issue. Seriously, what were they thinking?" ------------------------------- "Me?" Ziona started at the question and though for a moment. "I'm gonna wait till I can walk again, and until I find out what's gonna happen with that whole Nega thing. Once I have nothing to worry about there, I can focus on moving on."
