Melody looked at the dream Knuckels. "That's just not playing fair," she commented. "It makes sense. If I was gonna design a dream prison, it's the kind of thing I'd be sure to include," said Skye. Melody took Locke by the hand. "Dad, it doesn't matter how it seems, but they aren't real. You won't be letting them down at all if you leave." --------------- In the distance, the rumbling footsteps could be heard again. "That was too easy." -------------- "Good idea. You gotta plan?"

"It's good to see you too Dad. But we better get moving and find the others before the dream sets something on us." ------------- "So where is this monster we're supposed to be distracting? You wouldn't think something that big could hide so easily. Or maybe because were aren't trying to quit right now it's vanished again." ------------ "Nope, not at all," Ziona shouted back, grinning.

"Don't tempt fate Dad. If the dream hears you, it might send one after you." "On the subject of werehogs," Skye opened his radio. "Dylan? Are you there? We've found Locke. How's the other team doing?" ---------------- "Not my fault if you the same voice for talking normally and sarcasm," Mina retorted. "And your right, practically the whole planet is a mess." ----------------- "What'cha mean Glen? There's all the time in the world!" replied Ziona as she left to find Zave.

"Heh, thanks Dad. I think we all would have wanted to stay longer. At least it's more pleasant than the last dream." --------------- "Trying? Alicia trying? You've been spending to much time on your vacation if you think that's the case Red. If she didn't have Miles explaining to her that you want to keep your people happy so they don't revolt, she'd have been chucked off the throne months ago." ----------------- "Heh, that makes sense. Speaking of that I better go and find her. She'll be wondering where I disappeared off to again."

Both kid's breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness for that. But we aren't the only ones in this dream. Shadow, Hope, Red, probably Rouge and even our Mother are in here too. And we we tried to escape, the dream sent a monster after us. Which means someone has trapped us in this dream deliberately." -------------- "He doesn't quite control everything Red. And Queen Alicia is getting somewhat.... difficult to work with. Beside, you have to admit she doesn't exactly make the best ruler, does she?" ------------- "Not my party Glen, Zave's party!"

"No," whispered Skye to Tikal. "Remorse is what you'll feel after we break Locke's dream. This is more.... pre-meditated guilt I think. We're gonna need to be very careful and let him down gently." "Dad, I'm really, really sorry but this is just a dream world and none of it is real!" blurted out Melody. "Or... you can always go the direct route I suppose," Skye managed to mutter after a moment of shock. ------------------- "I don't need to be as elusive any more Red. Not with some of the things I can do now. And me and Miles have our eyes on a bigger target that'll put elusiveness out of the question." --------------- "Good good. I don't want you to feel bad at a party. That ain't what parties are for." (ooc: and off to bed now, catch you later)

Melody and Skye looked at each other. "He's happy Skye." "I don't wanna..." Skye began, shaking his head. --------------- "I don't think I've had problem's with people getting the wrong idea. I'm hired to kill people, and that's that. Just the job offers are coming thick and fast now. I wonder how you can put up the occasional 'on vacation' sign?" -------------- Ziona blinked at Glen's reaction, then quickly hugged him. "I'm sorry Glen. I didn't mean to make you sad."

"We might need to skip the introductions if things start going bad here as well," mused Skye. Then he started shouting along with Melody. "Dad? Hey Dad, it's us!" --------------- What can I say, I'm a talented girl," smiled Mina. "But it did make quiet living so much more difficult after that." --------------- "No real pets, no robot pets... You can be so mean sometimes Glen."

"I know, but it's still weird. I guess we must be close now though." Melody began calling out for her foster Dad. ----------------- "Not the best trait for an assassin I know." ---------------- "Something wrong Glen?" asked Ziona, breaking off her pretend hug.

"I just hope we don't spoil it for him when we arrive.... speaking of arriving, when did it change from midnight to mid-day?" said Skye, looking around perplexed at the now sunny surroundings. -------------- Mina shook her head. "I thought things felt off about the whole deal. No wonder if he was going behind his superiors back. Still don't get when they chose me though. You din't give them my card, did you?" she joked. -------------- "Yeah, but... It can't really think, can it? Unless we find a robot pet in a fluffy suit? That would be nice." Ziona made an action as if hugging an imaginary pet.

"I dunno," replied Skye. "We'll find out when we arrive." ------------ "I wouldn't have expect a GUN Commander to care about someone like me. Guess the Prime Zoners are even softer than I thought." ----------- "Awww, but that's just not the same," Ziona whined.

"Hmm. I'm not sure actually, though..... Though I have suspected that he took Melody and me in as much as for himself as us. So maybe something to do with family?" ---------------- "Heh heh. It only happened yesterday, so no surprise you don't remember. Shadow got me to kill Nega. And that's why I can't stick around safely. I suspect he still wants to put a bullet in my head. So a little more to worry about than just you." --------------- Ziona's eyes widened at Glen's joke. "Ooooooh! Can we get a pet when we travel, huh? Can we, can we, can we?" Her father groaned. "Thank's a bunch Glen," he replied, though with a trace of humour.

"Right, this way then!" commanded Melody, heading off. Skye picked up Tikal and followed. -------------- "That's a good idea. But I might have burned my bridges as far as this Zone goes." ------------- "I think their idea of 'travelling light' is when you don't need a trailer behind the car."

"So.. Melody? Tikal? Which way shall we go? Forward, left, right, up?" asked Skye. ------------------- Mina laughed. "No thanks. I remember what happened the last time you tried that. So what were you doing in the Prime Zone then?" she asked, but without any suspicion. ------------------ "That's good. I suspect the girl's luggage might be enough to fill the car on it's own."

"I think you might want to pass that info onto Shadow," Skye replied to Dylan with a grin. "So how do we find Dad if Dylan doesn't?" asked Melody. "So far we've just crossed dreams when we want. So if we concentrate on finding Dad, we should reach him," replied Skye as he carefully looked out of the cave. --------------- "So are you actually here Red? Or just another dream creation like my kids?" Mina asked as they sped along. --------------- "Okay then. Daddy? Can Glen come with us on our trip? Please, please, pretty please?" Her father gave the two of them a look. "I would protest about this being a 'father-daughter' trip, but Ziona's already got one friends coming, so I suppose another won't make a difference."

(ooc: I think they all got a line waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy back at the start of this arc)

Mina turned back just before she sprinted from the cave. "Stay safe kids," she called back. Skye and Melody glanced at each other, "Do you think she knows?" asked Melody. "Yes...." replied Skye after a second, "but she's trying to convince herself that we're just part of the dream. We can worry about that later. Let's go." -------------- "Say Glen, do you wanna come with us?" (ooc: and that's me for the night. See you later.)

Mina grinned. "Sounds like an idea. I was getting bored of all this talk." "You're right Tikal," agreed Skye. "Right, so Mom and M...Red are gonna distract the Monster. Tikal, Melody and myself will try and find Locke. Shadow, take everyone else and try and find Rouge. Dylan, see if you can make contact with anyone else." --------------- "Uhhhhhh. I dunno. I hope it'll be much much longer." (occ: and I'd say yes, leave Glen and Ziona till last)

"Right. Dylan, see if you can find or contact anyone else. Once you've found someone, we'll try and reach them. And once we've got everyone, we'll pick you up." ------------- "Yeah. Zave, my best friend. Remember, he two of you me like an hour ago?" (ooc: good question about the dream people. I guess it's up to the person who's dream it is!)

Mina saw Melody somehow persuade Shadow, and walked over next to her. "You've gotta teach me how to do that," she joked. Skye listened to Dylan's communication. "He's right. We need to find who else is in here and bring them all together. Then we'll have a better chance of making our way out. Especially if there's something strange about this link and if we don't exit together those left behind end up in comas. It seems to be easy to move from one dream to another, I think you just need to want to do so."

"Well why don't you consider something else then. You, me, Skye, Mother, Red, Hope... all of us are actually here. What about Rouge? She seems a little... docile, don't you think?" Melody's face had twisted into a sneer. "So if she is the fake, where's the real one? Oh, never mind, we won't need her help. We can just let her rot in the dream." (ooc: Melody? Seriously? What the hell are you doing girl?)

Melody walked defiantly up to Shadow and hissed in his ear. "This isn't just your head Shadow. I started out in my dream, and spent some time in Hope's, and Skye was in Tikal's. The only reason I'm not shouting this at you is so Mother doesn't overhear that Skye and I are actually real. So Locke won't be going into your head, more like everyone will be going to his. Now stop complaining or I'll get Skye to warp this dreamscape to HIS mind!"

"What on Moebius do you mean Red? This is getting more confusing by the second! Oh, I give up. It's a dream. It's all random. Let's just get out of here!" "So, uh, how about two teams? The three fast people try and outrace the monster. The rest of us search for Locke," suggested Skye. ------------------ "Okay, c'mon." said Ziona as she headed to where the drinks were laid out.

"Yep, you've got it Tikal," said Skye putting his arm round her shoulder. "I don't think it'll be Echidna tech. That's stuff advanced, but I don't think dreamworld advance. I could be wrong, but unless Locke is somewhere in this dream we've no way of knowing. But whatever it is, it's trying to stop us getting out." "Wait! That means the way out might be were that monster came from. it was trying to chase us away!" suggested Melody. "Really Red?" asked Mina. "Care to share?" ---------------------- "Yeah, I will. But I'm gonna stop dancing now. I'm getting thirsty!"
