Skye Prower

"So do I Tikal," Skye replied. "So do I." ------------- "No way," Mina objected. "Miles is handy to have around, but he's just a bratty kid. Not someone to have a crush on. And I won't forget Crowley" ------------ "Oh wow yeah. She's worse than Skye was with Tikal." -------------- "But I don't wanna grow up Glen. Please don't make me," Ziona cried, tears following freely. "Can't I stay like this until the dream is over?"

"Your teleporter isn't working? That's really odd. Why would the dream let everyone walk around as they wish, but block your teleport?" Skye pondered. -------------- Mina blushed with embarrassment again. "I guess so, though from the rumors I knew you had to at least look similar to Shadow. Maybe I just wasn't certain enough." (ooc: after that I am so tempted to have a 'dream hedgehog skye' show up, but that would probably be taking things to far.)

"I know that Tikal," Skye whispered back, "but this isn't the time and place to explain the whole thing over a radio. And I'm not sure I want to pry into his personal affairs now that things seem to be settling." Skye opened up his radio Dylan. "Best you work it out, The dreamscape has been on our side so far, but if it turns against us we'll need to find you the old fashioned way." -------------- Ziona just stared at Glen. "No... NO! That's not true. You're lying, just like the other's were. I'm still a kid. Tell me you're lying Glen, please tell me you're lying." She pounded uselessly against his chest. The tears in her eyes made it clear that, on some level at least, she knew that Glen was telling the truth. -------------- "Yeah Crowley, you're right. Just a dream... Though, I am a bit surprised my subconscious made my son a fox. If this was some paradise generator i'd have expected him to be... ahem, heh heh, never mind."

"Sure Glen, what's that?" asked Ziona with an innocent, adorable smile. Skye braced himself. "Everything is good here Dylan, no need to worry. Glen was just working... erm... some stress out. We're trying to get Ziona on side, then we'll be ready to pick you up." ----------- "Heh heh," laughed Mina. "I think that look would suit you Crowley!" ----------- "All I said was that you were being embarrassing," replied Melody hotly, then she suddenly shouted "I am NOT acting like my mother!" "Huh?" Mina's swung round to look at Melody

"Well, okay. This place is rather nasty. But what about another Zone. There must be several to look at. Pleeeeeease!" Skye shook his head slightly. "How do we...?" he asked Glen. ---------------- "Dad you're embarrassing me!" muttered Melody. (ooc: I'm surprised that Shadow isn't worried that Melody might end up fangirling him like Mina fangirl's Crowley) --------------- "Well, no," laughed Mina weakly. "Though Crowley does have the voice for it..."

"Yay! Home! Away from all this dust and sand... No! Waitaminute! I wanna go exploring fist before we go home." Skye gave a smile, and started walking away from the two. Then stopped and remember the whole 'snapping them out of a dream' thing. ------------ "Huh?" ----------- "But I... Sorry I didn't mean.... but it makes sense with what you said... it sounds crazy but..."

"I won't Glen. Just don't do anything scary like that again, pretty please?" ----------------- "Why should he?" asked Melody as she cause her tiara to reappear. "If we can do it, why shouldn't we use it. Plus, the practice might come in useful for... later." ------------------ "t's just... what you said... it almost only makes sense if... if you really were about 40 or 50 years old..." Mina said haltingly, wearing a twisted smile that seemed to be the result of her mind not sure where to laugh or scream at the idea.

"Oof! Ziona, careful. What's happening?" "I dunno, I dunno, I dunno. It went dark, I couldn't see, Glen was arguing with someone, there was a shot... What happened Skye, what happened?" Ziona half explained, half screamed. Skye looked around. "I think it's alright. I can still see Glen standing." Ziona's head whipped around. "Glen, are you alright?" shouted out Ziona. --------------- "It's a dream Red, it can't be that tiring to look your age... unless.... unless you mean.... nah, you don't mean that.... do you?"

"I've got it," replied Skye as he headed up the stairs. "But it might... Hey, what's with all the blackness?" Skye asked as the shot rang out. Ziona gave a scream and turned to run, instead colliding with Skye, causing the two of them to topple over. ----------- "I think the dream world might have gotten tired of us plotting," said Melody ---------- "You want to look this way? Huh, the more we talk, the more I'm thinking your aren't Red. Just someone who looks like her."

"Heh heh. I'm surprised she wasn't making you wear a butler's outfit!"

Melody grinned and put on a mock royal-voice. "Why thank you my faithful manservant. This beverage will do nicely. No need to bow!"

"Sorry, I misunderstood. Guess that answers if it's still messing with my head or not!"

"I don't think it's a machine we're plugged into, otherwise one of us would have woken before we were all affected! Are you sure you're okay? Does anything seem different to how it did a few seconds ago?"

"I think I'm okay, thanks Shadow," Melody replied, getting to her feet a little shakily. "But I can't say more than that. This machine's got into my head before, so I might not be okay, and just think I am."

"Nothing... really... specific... Just... testing.. the... boundaries..." gasped Melody. She fell to her knees and the distortion stopped, the hotel room now resembling an M C Escher sketch. "Whew, how can I feel exhausted in a dream?" she asked rhetorically. "I just played around with gravity, angles, stuff like that. Just limited this room though, didn't want to risk anything more."

"Malleability huh...? Hmm, I wonder how far that can stretch?" Melody closed her eyes, and a few moments later the walls, floors and stairs of the room began to warp and distort.

(ooc: actually, only Skye and Ziona worrying about Glen makes sense, as they are the only two who have an idea how vulnerable Glen actually is. And Skye only has a vauge idea, while Ziona isn't really in the right mind to process things properly.) "Well, no," Skye replied sadly. "But... hang on, this dreamworld is mutable, so combine that with some summoning magic." Skye concentrated for a moment, and suddenly a hand-held computer popped into existence in his hand. "There we go. Can you get a lock on that Dylan?" "It's just a dream Dad, it's not like anything can really happen to us, either Glen getting in trouble or Shadow getting drunk." "I'm gonna find Glen," said Ziona suddenly. "He's my friend, I'm gonna help him." She started running up the stair. "Wait!" cried Skye, heading after her, "not until we find out what's going on!" -------------------- "I know that Red, so if you can appear how you want, why do you want to look like your in you're 50's or something? I went back to normal as soon as I realised this whole thing wasn't real."

Ziona sat down, trying not to shed any more tears. Skye hovered over her, keeping in contact with Dylan. "Any chance you could send us pictures of an orbital view? I'd like to have a proper look at this place." Melody burst out laughing. "Probably not, but can you even get drunk Shadow? Come to think of it, can anyone get drunk on dream whisky?" --------------- Mina shot Red a curious look, that then flared up into anger. "Okay, just WHAT is going on here? You seem to know more than your saying! Hell, you almost seem like a completely different person since we last talked. And why don't you look your proper age?"

"Maybe Skye could make you one. It looks like the kinda thing that'd be up his street." "That's just great, but at least you can see us now. Let us know the moment if something odd happens, cause I suspect it will soon!"

"Dylan? Can you hear us? I'll broadcast a repeating signal for you to lock onto us and tell us where we are now." "I wouldn't worry too much Shadow. The previous times we've been in dreams, time outside has been much much slower than time inside," Melody said to try and placate Shadow. "I don't like it here. It all hot and dry and horrible," sobbed Ziona. Skye closed his eyes for a second, and the next moment a cup of water appeared in his hand. "Here, drink this, you'll feel better," said Skye softly as he offered the cup to Ziona, who took it gratefully. "This is no place for a kid," Skye muttered. "Um, Skye? You do realise..." "Yes Melody. I am quite aware who the 'kid' should and should not be in that sentence." ------------- "What?" asked Mina (ooc: Sooooo, I've worked out what cased the split between Mina and Miles. In the original timeline, Mina would probably have tried, fangirl that she is, to find Crowley. Miles would have offered to help, but would have actually been stopping her from locating Crowley. Move on thirty years, and Mina then finds out what Miles has done, probably when she finally meets Crowley and he says something that makes her realise Miles was lying. Now however, things are slightly different. So now she is carrying that rejected feeling, and then at the thirty years later make when she meets Crowley, Crowley won't remember who she is because of the time travel thing! So, feeling completely shattered she'll take it out on Miles. So far, that doesn't really impact the past for the kids, but that might change....)

"I'm not scared," replied Skye honestly, "but I think all his talk of death was too much for Ziona." "Is he gone yet Skye?" Ziona asked. "Yeah, he's gone, it's just Glen left," replied Skye, raising an eyebrow at the fact Ziona could now remember his name. Ziona opened her eyes and turned round to look at Glen, but still held onto Skye. "Please don't go and leave me Glen," she pleaded. "It's not gonna be nice there." "This might be something he has to do Ziona," explained Skye. "But don't worry, everyone else will still be here." Skye looked around for Tikal. "Tikal," he whispered, "A little help? I'm not good with the comforting thing!" "I'm not sure if hurting Glen would be the best option Shadow," said Melody. "This is different from both the good dream and when it tries to stop us. I'm not sure what it is, but it might be something Glen needs and wants, but at the same time doesn't want, which is why it's showing up now." ------------- "Of course you can be sure. Why wouldn't I be? C'mon, even if I wasn't, it's not like I'm gonna be resentful of this all my life."

(ooc: *shrug* it's a dream. Who knows! :P Maybe the sweetshop is now in the forest!)

"Hey! Passing through people is cheating. Stupid unfair dreamworld," Skye muttered darkly, wondering if Glen could even hear him at this stage. Ziona gave a little scream of fright as the wolf moved closer,and backed away behind a display. For a moment, Skye felt a small twinge of familiarity with her actions, similar to how he had sometime reacted to his father. Realising there wasn't much he could do to help Glen short of setting him on fire, he moved towards Ziona and tried to comfort her, picking her up and making sure she was facing away from the wolf. "Shh, it's okay. Just a bad dream, that's all." ---------------- "Don't worry Crowley, your secret is safe with me. And you don't need to worry about me Red, I'm fine. Really." (ooc: Could be wrong, but weren't Shadow, Crowley, Red and Mina still in the forest, not the sweetshop?)

"Glen..." said Ziona quietly, tugging on his trouser leg. "Can we go now? That man your talking to is scaring me." "Alright, this has gone far enough," muttered Skye. He strode between the two, arms outstreched at each of them. Magical enbergy puslated along his hands, in case it become nessiary to reple one ofg them. "Glen, he's not real so just snap out of it and ignore him. And you, you're just a figment of someones imagination, so why don't you, sorry Dad, &"$% off!" "Uh oh," exclaimed Melody. She turned to Tikal. "Skye sounds like he's about to lose his temper. You might want to vacate the area." --------------------- "Heh, that's true," Mina said with a laugh, managing to put a brave face on and making it look like she was feeling better.

"Careful. You don't want to ruin your mystique by admitting that," laughed Mina
