Maybe he just fell asleep

Skye's whimpering decreased but didn't stop. He grabbed ahold of Locke with one hand, pulling him tighter, while the other continued to hold onto his tail. ------------ Mina slashed at the tendril reaching for her and it dissipated, only for several others to follow. Ziona amaged to leap out of the way of the one reaching to attack her. "Nah, Nah, missed me!" she taunted.

Not a chance. I've already got a family for starters.

*casts a sideways glance at Dylan*

(ooc: I would have said that Scourge would have faded back into the dream after 30 seconds, then I realsied it was acatully a good way for the dream to keep Locke occupied for a long time, so...) Skye was lying on his side whimpering with pain. Both his hands clutched at his remaining tail. Melody crawled over to him, tears streaming from her eyes. "I'm sorry Skye... I.. I...," she couldn't continued, and collapsed crying next to her brother. ---------------- The mass of shadows pulsated, several long limbs erupting from it's surface, and striking towards the four occupants of the village.

What are you babbling about Locke? I think you've been drinking too much.

Scourge was still grinning. "Too late Old Man, the damage has been done." Scourge threw Skye's ripped off tail at Locke's face. "The boy's just a boring ol normal fox now, just like when he was born. As for the girl..." Scourge glanced over at where Melody was shivering under the desk. "Her brother risked everything to save her. And when he was in danger she just hid. I hope she likes feeling guilty, cause that'll all she be doing now." ----------------- "I have no need of thugs. I work alone," spoke the voice, as the shadows detached themselves from the buildings, but came together in one large central mass.

"It doesn't matter what you got in mind for me. I'm just dream stuff. But your wrong about who's in control, and I warned you about getting closer Old Man." Scourge pulled at Skye's tail. The fox cub screamed as it was ripped from it's socket. ------------ "Because I'm drawing her in!" And with that the shadows suddenly grew to engulf Mina.

Me? I.. uh... LOOK! Over there! *points then runs off in opposite direction*

*shrugs* Well, I'm no expert in legal matters. *wanders off*

Scourge threw back his head and laughed. "Oh no!", he mocked in a faux distressed voice, "I'm not the real Scourge! Whatever will do?" His voice returned to normal. "I know I'm just some nightmare Old Man. I'm not real. But the harm I could do is." --------------- (ooc: Sorry Glen, but you can't 'fix' Mina's issues... Well, not without causing paradoxes anyway.) "But I shouldn't have friends," Mina answered in reply. "An assassin..." "..should not have friends. Should have no one that can be used against them," the shadows spoke back, but still retreating. Behind them, there was a green flash as Ziona and Tikal arrived. Ziona raised her visor. "I wasn't expecting something like this." She gave a squeal as one of the shadow tendrils tried to strike her.

As Dad isn't here can I claim the Emerald on his behalf? Um, no one ask how I got here, ok!

"Hey Old Man. Haven't seen you since I gave you that beating over your precious Emerald." Scourge's eye moved to Red's unconscious body. "Looks like my partner in crime left a lasting impression on you. I wouldn't come any closer," Scourge clamped a foot hard down on Skye's back and grabbed one of his tails. "Otherwise your adopted brat becomes a normal one-tailed fox. As it should be, eh Skye?" ------------------- Mina continued to attack, her slashes becoming wilder and wilder. But the voice from the shadows just laughed. "I told you. You will never have the power to be able to stand alone. You'll always need other to support you. You are weak." ------------------- "Okay, think hard now," said Ziona as she pushed her teleport button. (ooc: I apologise for not playing Scourge properly. In my defense, it is a dream. Feeble excuse, I know.)

Skye had barely got to his feet before Scourge slammed into him again. He crashed once more into the wall, now barely able to even rise from the ground. Cackling, Scourge picked him up. "Should I snap you in half, or yank out your precious tails first?" he asked with a toothy grin. --------------- Glen's reasoning didn't seem to get through to Mina. But insulting her profession did. "I'm bloody worth the money Glen," she snarled, drawing her knife and slashing at the approaching, solidified shadows. The bullets and blades didn't seem able to actually kill them, but did drive them back. -------------- "If he's not in too much trouble himself," muttered Ziona. "Shall we try?"

"Pathetic. Miles actaully though you could stand up to ME? So much for him being smart, that's the stupidest thing i ever heard," taunted Scourge. Skye tried to get to his feet, head spinning from the blow. Melody just crawled under a nearby table. --------------------- "I can't, I can't. I never could," whined Mina. The shadows around her solidified and grasped one of her legs, causing her to scream. -------------------- "Most of those I truly trust are outside the dream. There is Glen, and I think that you'd trust Skye, but we don't know what we'll find if we join either of them."

"Melody, get out of here. Run," begged Skye, "Are you crazy? I can't run! He's much to fast." Skye didn't get a chance to respond before Scourge suddenly was next to them, and less than a second later both kids to heavy blows sending them crashing into opposite walls of the throne room. --------------- Mina was backing off from Glen, nearing the center of the village. "Bullets won't work. A knife to the heart didn't work. She's always there, always watching. You think you're alone and she just steps out from the shadows." A Mina mover the building creaked and seemed to distort. The shadows the cast began to twist and morph on the ground, surrounding Mina though she didn't seem to notice. -------------- "Daddy could..." Ziona began to suggest, then shook her head. "No, Nega would come.... Everyone I know is already out fighting in the dream."

The fog solidified into a solid structure, the throne room of castle Prower. The children looked around, then their eyes were drawn to the person lounging on the throne. "Oh hell," breathed Skye as the figure on the throne stood up. Both children clung to each other. "You're the brats that Miles though could handle my throne? You pipsqueaks are barely worth my time crushing," said Scourge. ------------- What was left of Isabella dropped to the floor. Mina slowly began to step round from Glen to look, then ducked back behind him as Isabella's voice began speaking, but from all across village. "Don't think that will stop me girl. No matter how you try you'll never be free of me." ------------- "I know, but where should we go?"

"Now is not the time to comment on my skills," muttered Melody as she got to her feet. Skye looked around. "Hey, where did the other cop go?" The mist swirled around them, and something seemed to coalesce inside it. "I think the dream is about to get worse," muttered Melody. (ooc: Any guesses? It has actually been bright up before as something the kids are scared of.) -------------- "Sure confidence," Isabella teased. "Obviously you haven't know my daughter long if she didn't warn you that my blades are poisoned." Mina meanwhile was trying to use Glen as a shield. She gave a squeak of fright when her mother spoke. -------------- "We did have control, but not as much now. Whether it's enough to chose where to go, if we try together..."

Skye managed to struggle free of the now scotched net, and hurried back over to his sister, helping her up. "Your magic's getting better," he commented. --------------- "How dare you touch me," hissed Isabella as she drew another knife from a concealed sheath and rammed it towards Glen's stomach. --------------- "No," panted Ziona, "But I don't think it matters. We go where the dream wants us to."

"No answer, at least look your killer in the eye before you die." The copy pulled Melody by her hair, till she was kneeling, then saw the orb of arcane energy gathering between Melody's hands.; "Oh $@&%!" Melody flung her arms aside and the orb exploded in an expanding wave of magical energy, causing the copy to erupt in a shower of sparks, and dropping one of the Zone Cops carrying Skye. Melody dropped to all fours. "I HATE doing that," she muttered. (ooc: Shadow, as Crowley is/was nearby, you could have the wave affect on of his assentents if you want.) -------------- (ooc: If this wasn't a dream, talking might work. As this is a nightmare...) "There is nothing a wretch like you can say that is worth listening to. Now stop your prattling." Isabella drew a knife and flung it through the air aimning straight at Glen's heart. ------------- Ziona grabbed Tikal's hand and started running.

Skye continued to struggle as the Zone Cops picked him up. Melody was curled up again, seemingly unaware of anything around her. "I told him he would leave you behind. He created a double simply to easy his guilt. And now he's cast you aside." -------------------- "This is between me and my daughter. You shouldn't interfere. She need to learn the value of the family legacy." Mina took Glen's hand but couldn't tear her eyes away from her mother. "I thought I'd ended it... I though it was all over..." ---------------- "Then we need to leave. We need to get out of here."

A net suddenly erupted from the ground and engulfed Skye. As he struggled to free himself, two Zone Cops emerged from the fog, their freture horrible distored under their helmets. "This one will be spending a long time in isolation, completely alone, forever," one spoke in a chilling voice. ---------------------- The body of Isabella Mongoose suddenly stirred and stood up. Mina backed off a few seteps as she turned and advanced on the younger Mongoose, pulling out the knife that had been embedded in her heart. "You call that a killing blow? You're pathetic girl. Don't you EVER listen. Don't you EVER learn?" "Mother... I... I..." "You'll be punished for neglecting your practice. Severely punished." -------------------- "I don't know. It could be anywhere..." said Ziona looking around. Nothing looked familiar to her.

"Skye, don't leave me," begged Melody, clutching at his leg. "I never will Melody," Skye replied trying to comfort her. The copy sneered." "You will very soon be Skye. You're nightmare's are already on their way." "You gonna try and summon a dark mirror of me? Or my Father? I've already beaten them." "Not this time Skye!" the copy replied. ---------------------- "Thats... Glen, that's my mother... exactly how I left her..." -------------------- Ziona shook her head, unable to see a way out of this. Even being an adult wouldn't help. The only thing that could help them was... Ziona pushed her fear to the back of her mind and concentrated for a moment, and a Zone Cop uniform appeared on her, resized for her smaller form. Ziona grabbed Tikal and hit the Zone teleport button, and both her and Tikal disappeared.

"Really? So willing to die for a mere copy. Why don't you just cast her completely away. You've already started now you have Tikal." Melody looked at her brother, with a new look of fear. ----------------------------- "Wait, I know this place. I grew up here," murmured Mina. ------------------------------ "I can't fight them. Even if I was grown-up again, I couldn't fight them."

"And now if you don't mind," the Melody copy faded from sight the reappeared next to Skye and Melody. "I've an impostor to deal with." Skye stood between the two Mongooses. "I'm not gonna let you." The copy just grinned. -------------- "I was meaning... wait..." The fog faded and there were in the middle of a small village. "What the %£$*?" (ooc: I'm not so sure of my idea now, it is kinda a combo of Melody's and Crowley's nightmare) -------------- "I know, I know... but they seem so real!"
