"I was about to make a comment about paying me back, Dylan, but I think you just did so," said Melody. "So, I'm guessing that's not a good thing?" Mina asked Locke. --------------- "It only has enough power for a limited amount of targets. But once I connect its power systems to the Master Emerald, I can send a whole city into permanent sleep."

"But how would the Master Emerald react with the dream like this?" asked Melody. "Unless... whatever was causing the dream.... was right next to the master emerald..." Back on her feet Mina swiftly dispatched the were-hog she'd been fighting that had been slower to rise. Melody hurried to Dylan, slashing at the were-hog attacking him. -------------- "Maybe I don't want you break my machine before I get a chance to use it one all of New Mobotropolis."

(ooc: Uhhhhhh, how many chaos spears has shadow been throwing?)

(ooc: I thought Hamlin was just a disembodied voice at this point?) Mina and Melody were ganging up on a larger were-hog when the quake hit, causing all three to loose their balance. "What was that?" "I think we're running out of time!" -------------- "Why? You break my ship, destroy my robots, and threaten to kill me! That's why." Eggman snarled, then he grinned. "Besides, its FUN!"

Skye didn't responded, he was concentrating too hard on keeping the field up. Melody and Mina continued attacking, Melody acting more reckless than normal, may to try and compensate for her earlier failure with Scourge. -------------- "On no you DON'T!" Eggman exclaimed as Red tried to go for the panel. The lasers stopped, but he smashed down with on of the robotic fists.

Skye dropped to his knees but the field still held. "I think... I can keep... going... despite the... pain..." he gasped. ------------------ "So much for your brave words," mocked Eggman as he pressed forward. "You're just delaying the inevitable."

"So where did porky boss man get to? I want to talk with him" shouted Melody as behind her, a couple of were-hogs fried themselves on Skye's shield. Inside the sphere, Skye suddenly grimaced in pain as the potion he'd taken began wearing off. ---------- "Ah ha ha! Cover won't save you. These beams can cut through anything!" boasted Eggman.

Melody cleared her throat. "Ahem, actually you can. I'm dead yet perfectly mortal... Wait, that's not a good thing to admit is it?" she drew another knife, using her speed to dodge the were-hog's slower attacks. Her movement almost mirrored Mina fighting nearby. Skye muttered a few words and a crackling sphere of energy covered him and Tikal, shocking anyone who came to close. Ziona just clung tighter to Glen. ------------ "I see my reputation precedes me. Very well." The front of his machine slid open, as numerous cutting beams shot out, arcing around in random patterns. "This was designed to finally stop that miserable blue rodent. It should have no trouble reducing you to slices."

"I think I preferred him as a supervillain," Melody muttered to Hope. "You..." Skye began to reply to Tikal, then Melody interrupted. "Leave the mushy stuff till later. Scary monsters and the walking slab of ham first!" she shouted over him, throwing a knife towards Hamlin as she did so. Skye shot her a look of irritation. "You know, I'd almost have sworn she was my daughter," muttered Mina after seeing Melody's shouting fit. --------------- "I'm... I'm scared Glen," piped up Ziona --------------- "Paid are you? So what if I pad you to forgot about this and go after someone else?"

"Its alright Dylan. We understand. Besides, no one here is an angel. Well," Skye turned to face Tikal and gave her a little squeeze, "aside from you." Melody rolled her eyes. "Time and place, Skye, Time and place. But he is right Dylan. You had no control of your actions, so don't let him get to you."

Skye looked at the approching were-hogs. "So, uh, who's still actually in a condition to fight?" he asked. -------------- As they approached the others, Mina caught sight of the were-hogs. "I think we arrived at a bad time!" -------------- "Aww, how sweet," replied Ziona, giving Glen a hug round the waist. Either that or she was hiding from the were-hogs.... Maybe both. -------------- "Huh, your not so different after all then," Eggman replied, swinging a blow at Red with the robot's arm.

"Thanks," Skye replied to Tikal as he held on tight. He turned to face Dylan. "I, uh, had a run in with Scourge and he... he..." Skye shook his head. ------------------ Mina blushed slightly. "Anytime Crowley. Anytime." ------------------ "Keep that kind of insinuation up when I look like this and you might just need a lawyer yourself." ------------- "What's this? You're willing to let your friends die? No begging, pleading? No 'I'll save them no matter what'? I must say, this makes a pleasant change."

"Huh, they were right behind me," said Skye. "Ah, here they come." Skye took a few steps towards the approaching figures and fell over again. "Oof. Stupid missing tail messing my balance." ----------- Mina gave a shiver of excitement when Crowley grabbed her hand, forgetting for an instant they were in a life and death situation. But only for a moment, as the world shifted around them. (ooc: Despite what Shadow said earlier, I don't think seeing them running hand-in-hand together would be good for Skye's moral! :P ) ------------ "Tsk Tsk, you should be a lawyer with that sort of misdirection," Ziona replied. ------------ "You're the one who put them in danger by sabotaging the power supply for the Dream-Catcher," replied Eggman. "And their's nothing I can do to bring them out. The only exit is from the inside. So if you want to help them, you best go back to sleep!"

"I think... I think he went to find Dylan. He must have though we'd be right behind," said Melody, heading over to Tikal and giving her a comforting hug. "I'm sure he'll be fine." ------------- "If I was taller I'd slap you on the face," Ziona retorted, but still smiling. ------------ "Why do you people keep blowing up my ships?" yelled Eggman. One of the legs raised up, unfolded into a set barrels which launched a barrage of seeking mini-missiles. "Failsafe? What use would I have for a failsafe on a weapon that if it goes wrong removes my enemies?"

"But let's get out of here first," Mina said, pulling out a capsule from her bracer and dropping it into the monster. "That should make a nice bonfire."

"I WILL hold you to that Crowley," she replied with a conniving smile.

"That certainly wasn't on my to do list," replied Mina as she cut the gap wider, then reached in offering a hand to Crowley.

Skye didn't realise he was walking alone, as the world shifted around him. He found himself outside Dylan's bunker. Well, what was left of it. Skye began calling Dylan's name. -------------- As the monster fell Mina leapt on top of it, ducking out of the way of it's blows. She sliced a portion of it's chest open. "Hello? Anyone in there?" she called.

Skye nodded and started walking. Melody waited, seemingly uneasy at leaving Hope alone again. Skye's radio gave a burst of static, but that was it. He looked at it in surprise. "I think we'd better hurry." Ziona rolled her eyes. "If you are trying to get me to wear my beach cloths all day you've got another thing coming." ---------------- Mina came to a screeching halt when she saw the massive creature ahead of her. It seemed to be in pain, but there was no sign of Crowley. "You better not have eaten him," she growled, rushing over. She drew a knife, hope to cut Crowley free if he add been swallowed. --------------- "Bah. As if someone like you could understand the intricacies of such a machine." The ship rumbled slightly. "Oh Ho! Right on time. Angel Island is about to make a wonderful splash in the ocean."

"I... I guess. Sorry for freaking out there Shadow. We better go and find Dylan." -------------- Mina hurried onwards, calling out Crowley's name.

Somehow, Skye eyes became even wider. He backward away from Shadow, raising his arms as if trying to ward him off. "NoNoNo! You can't do that. I like who I am. I don't wanna change. Please don't-don't-don't!" Skye tripped and fell over backwards. It seemed to knock a little sense into him. "Wait, you're not being serious..... are you?"

Skye seemed to calm down, but looked far for convinced. "You... you can't really KNOW what might happen then, or now... or, whatever the right temporal term is. So it's best not to risk stuff like that. Getting re-written isn't nice Shadow. You've already done it to me once!!"

"No need, I'll find him," said Mina as she sped off. Skye stared wide eyed after her. "The rest of us should try to find Dyl..." Ziona began, before.... "SHADOW! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? STOP TRYING TO RE-WRITE MY PAST!" yelled Skye, causing Melody to jump.
