Mina gave a nervous laugh as well. "I don't think I'd have reacted much better." Mina then caught Red's look and shook her head. "I'll be fine," she addressed the room, and partially Red's question. "But.... there is something.... something I'd like when I come back.... it's rather silly though...." "Oh, don't worry about it sounding silly," replied Melody. "Just tell us." "I'd.." Mina gave Red and Locke a look, then stared at her feet again. "I'd like you to choose a new name for me." ----------------- "I though he did," replied Ziona. "But after that I never spoke to him again, so I don't know. It doesn't matter though. It's ancient history now."

"A clean slate?," pondered Mina. "Yes, that... that is,what I want. But... But there is something I gotta do first." "Can we help?" asked Skye. Mina shook her head. "No. I need to do this alone. You two head back to the hotel with Red and Locke... Or, uh," Mina looked slighty embarrassed, "is it Mom and Dad now? I... Uh... I'll meet you back at the hotel." -------- "Not much too tell. I was upset after Zave got engaged, I tried to find a boyfriend, but the boy I liked... well, he was rather public about not wanting me as a girlfriend.

All three kids laughed at Lockes suggestion, and each of them also looked as if,they were seriously considering the idea. "Yeah, there's alot of stuff you'll need to learn about us," said Melody, looking thoughtful. "So here's what we're gonna do. I would suggest a family day out but Mom's been hurt, so the three of us," Melody grabbed Skye by the arm and pulled him next to her and Mina, "are gonna spend the day havibg fun together at the hotel resort and get too know each other." "But... don't you... know me already?" asked Mina. "Nope," replied Melody. "We're gonna start right from scratch today. Besides, it hasn't happened yet." "Given the last twenty minutes its not gonna happen now," said Skye. --------- "After Zave, there was one boy," Ziona said. "But it didn't work out."

"It's not that I'm worried about. Suddenly I'm very glad you banned pranking in Haven." "Pranking?" asked Mina with a grin. ------------- "Yeah. It's happened once before I'd even asked.... Going through it again..."

Mina continued to laugh, half out of joy, and half at just how ridiculous the situation was. Melody turned her head to face her brother. "You're outnumbered now Skye!" "Eep!" --------------- "Oh, I've liked being appreciated before, it was just when things went further...." ZIona broke of her sentence.

"I'm... already... accepted..." repeated Mina, a smile beginning to appear on her face. "Welcome to the family Sis," said Melody, hugging Mina tightly. Mina started laughing happily. ----------- "Oh I think I like being appreciated Glen," replied Ziona with a smirk.

"Hey! Whoa Whoa! Last I check Skye and I had separate rooms. That better not change!" called Melody, a slight twinge of panic in her voice. She turned back to Mina. "It's your choice. Friends or family? And we'll work with whatever one you choose. Right?" The last word was shot with a dangerous tone at Skye, who gulped. "Yeah. It'll be strange if you choose family, but we'll get over it. Like everything else we've done," said Skye. Melody waited a bit, but Mina said nothing. "Mo....Mina?" she asked. "I... I would like to be part of a family," Mina said in almost a whisper, still looking at her feet. "But only if everyone wants me." -------------- "Just say if there's anything else I can do... Within reason, of course."

"W-well... actually... thinking of you like brother and sister... is a bit easier than as my children," said Mina slowly and quietly. "It's more bizarre from this angle!" blurted out Skye. "Sky-ye. Didn't you say you wanted to help?" chastised Melody. "Well, yeah, but...." Skye said weakly. Mina was looking at her feet. ------------- "Why don't I warm you up a little more," said Ziona, wrapping her arms around him.

"Tell you what then," said Melody, walking up to Mina and taking her arm. "How about, to make it less weird, rather than thinking of us as your kids, think of Skye and I as your friends?" "F-friends..." stammered Mina. "But I-I... I was horrible to you. How can we suddenly be friends?" "If that doesn't work," Melody continued with a grin, "Me and Skye could make things more weird and make you our big sister!" Mina's mouth dropped open. "That's... that's messed up," muttered Skye. "Like it wasn't messed up before," laughed Melody. "But I really just wanted to see everyone's reaction." ---------------- "Don't worry about THAT!" Ziona laughed. "I'm not the most prim and proper of ladies after all!"

"I suppose it must be kinda similar after you adopted them, except for the weird age thing." "Is there any way we can make this less weird?" offered Skye. "Don't bother Skye, we're just a weird family!" --------- "Careful, you might melt away completely," joked Ziona

"Well, yeah," Mina gave a small laugh, "given all this time travel stuff. But it is a little weird, I mean, hey Skye, how old are you?" "Me? Uh, well, I'm not exactly sure. I kinda lost track with the time travel and spending to long on the Cosmic Interstate..." Mina's eyes widened but Skye continued. "But we think I'm around twelve." "Twleve! Only three years younger than me. Hard to think of you as my kids when you're practically my age." -------------- "It has been so far," Ziona replied, catching his had and giving it a kiss.

"I see..." Mina replied, looking toward Locke. "Then I want to thank both of you for giving them... well, giving them a chance to have a proper family." "It's a chance I never had," she muttered quietly to herself. -------------- Ziona grinned. "I think I can accept that deal."

"I'm just... thinking about everything," responded Mina, wiping a small tear away. "Red, thank you for looking after Skye and Melody," she said, turning to face Red with a smile. "I hope they weren't too screwed up when you... saved them." --------------- "If it starts to bother me, I'll jab you in the ribs," Ziona responded with a grin.

"Glen and Ziona? No," replied Melody. "We went out the window," explained Skye. Mina just sat there, lost in thought. ------------- "A new day, in more ways that one," murmured Ziona.

"You ripped a hole in reality?" Mina asked Skye. He nervously shuffled his feet while staring at them. "I... uh... was trying to bring back Melody," he explained. Mina shook her head, wondering how bad things must have been to lead to that. "Thank's for the offer of a place to stay," Mina said to Red and Locke. "I think I'm gonna need it until... until... whatever I do..." -------------- "Think I prefer this type of currency," Ziona replied as the two kissed.

"A room? You mean you want me to stay?" asked Mina in a,quiet but surprised voice. ----- "You don't owe me anything Glen," replied Ziona. "But if you insist on paying, I'll gladly accept," she continued, also moving closer.

"To be fair, a lot of weird stuff happened over the last week. I don't think we've had just a 'normal' day here." "I dunno Skye, the day at the beach was fairly normal. Until we went for ice cream. And yesterday was normal, except that the girl you got a crush on was a ghost! I er... sorry Tikal, no offence," Melody apologised to Tikal. -------------------- "I was just returning the favor"

(ooc: I'm pretty sure that's the normal state of affairs. Seriously, they need some backup system for that Darn island. Or not leave the thing out in the open with a 'free for all super-villains' sign next to it. ;) )

"I just... I just need some time to think. Think about what I want to do now," said Mina. Skye's ear pricked up at what Mina was saying and he headed over to her. "Hey, don't worry. When I first arrived in Haven, I felt the exact same way. I had no idea what to do either." "And what did you chose?" asked Mina. "Erm, well," Skye looked a little embarrassed, "to try and just be a normal kid... I think I might have failed slightly." Melody burst out laughing. -------------- "Thanks for trying Glen. You're the first one who didn't give up on me."

"A new chance..." breathed Mina. "Yes, you're right but... I've only known killing. Starting something else..." Her voice shook. "Mom's taking this real bad," whispered Melody to Skye. "I wasn't expecting her to react anything like this." "I've never seen her act this way, or even close to it," Skye whispered back. "We've gotta help her somehow. Any ideas?" "Uh, sorry, not a thing..." "Really? You, lost for ideas?" --------------- "I suppose I did need a little push to move on."

"Maybe I should try and find her then," pondered Mina in response to Red. She then turned to Crowley and forced herself to look at him. "No, no, you're not terrifying... But I just feel... so scared after what I've learned here." Melody gave Skye a gesture with her head, and the children backed away from the bed towards a corner of the medical bay. -------------- "Always forward, aren't you," said Ziona with a smile as she let herself be drawn closer.

Mina gave a nervious little laugh, but still couldn't bring herself to look at him. "Thanks Crowley," she said quietly.

Mina gave a small smile to Crowley. "I'll keep that in mind. But I think... I'd rather... stay friends with you... if that's alright... only if you want to..." She looked away, to nervous to look him in the eye.

Mina started laughing slightly. "I wonder what my Red would make of this!" ------------ "I do say so, Glen."

"I'll need help. I can't do this alone anymore." It was all Skye and Melody could do not to stare at Mina. They'd never heard her so unsure of herself before. (ooc: Basically, Mina's had here self-confidence crushed by the revelation, in essence making her journey the opposite to her prime counterpart) ---------- "Don't worry about it. Just enjoy the view Glen."
