"Really? What are they normally like?" asked Anna as the joined the others. "I'm sure it won't," said Melody to Tikal, then she turned to Hope and Anna. "Skye just suggested lunch. What do you think?" ----------- "That's good," said Ziona, "but you can touch my tail if you want."
-
"Maybe taking her to a haunted house wasn't the best idea when she's still suffering from culture shock?"
-
"No it wasn't," Skye said. "Hi you two," interrupted Melody. "Jelly Bug?" she asked, offering the open bag. "Well, uh, rather than jellies, I was thinking lunch?" said Skye, though he grabbed a couple anyway. ----------------- "Yeah. Tikal doesn't look too happy. Guess she didn't like being grabbed and dropped." ---------------- "Oh no. Don't you dare," said Ziona, hiding her tail.
-
"I guess some people like to be scared," shrugged Skye. ---------------- "I'll try not to whine so much at the next attraction we go on," said Anna. Melody thanked the cashier, and began heading over to Skye and Tikal. ---------------- "So does that mean glue or a wig then?" suggested Ziona, still laughing.
-
"Scariness aside, you are enjoying yourself?" Skye asked Tikal. ------------- "I'm sure I will," said Anna with a smile as Melody was discussing transportation with the cashier. "I mean, if I hadn't been chased by them, I would find that thing kinda cute," Anna continued, pointing towards the alien plush in Hope's hands. ------------- "I'm not sure 'jealous' is the word," said Ziona, struggling to get the words out for laughing. "But if you're that desperate to find out, you could have Skye magic you furry or something."
-
"It looks like they're nearly done. We can meet them by the exit," said Skye standing up. -------------- "Not... really. It all has... creepy overtones," replied Anna. -------------- "I'm trying to imagine you as fluffy... and..." Ziona burst into more giggles.
-
Skye looked at his watch. "Wow. We were in there a lot longer than I thought. So it is almost lunchtime now. Once the girls are done looking around, we can grab something to eat." --------------- "Sounds like a plan," said Melody as she joined the queue. She then saw Anna nearby. "Hey Sis. You getting anything?" Anna shook her head. -------------- Ziona paused in her walking and looked at Glen's profile. "I don't really think a fluffy tail would suit you Glen," she giggled.
-
"Thank's Tikal. I think we should go somewhere a bit less intense next. Maybe the restaurant?" Anna left the two, and set off to catch up with Melody. ---------------- "I'll need to practice a bit first so I don't just blow him up or something, but yeah. The better do deliveries, I don't want to be lugging a skeleton around the park!" ---------------- "You're staring at me Glen," said Ziona, slightly bashful.
-
"I'm thinking some of these," said Melody, picking up a bag of jelly insects. "And wondering if anything here might be good for a prank or two back home. Like that skeleton over there!"
-
"You go... I'm just gonna sit here for a bit. That last spell kinda drained me," Skye said to Tikal. ------------ "See anything you like?" Melody asked Hope ----------- Ziona smiled and began leading the way.
-
"I know," replied Skye. "it just seems so crazy after all of that!" ----------- "Welllll, that quiet bench in the park. Where we first opened up to each other?" Ziona suggested.
-
"That's... actually worse," replied Skye, thinking about the vampires last words. He and Anna shared a 'she's nuts' look when Hope called the stuffed alien 'cute'. Melody gave a little laugh. "Of all the things to make a cuddly toy of!"
-
"It wasn't. It really wasn't," said Anna. "Uh, I hope that wasn't just a guy in a suit. Otherwise I kicked an innocent guy in the jaw..." mumbled Skye. Sitting in the gift shop, it was more easy to think of everything that happened as fake.
-
"I think I can..." began Melody, then something slammed into her, sending her crashing to the floor. "OW! Wait, Melody!" exclaimed Anna, as she opened her eyes, her, Skye, Tikal and Melody in a heap on the floor. "Sis! Skye! You made it!" Melody said happily, and hugged the two of them. "Ouch. I think I'd have been less painful to have let that vampire bite me," complained Skye.
-
Skye looked around frantically, trying to work out exactly where the voice had come from. Anna shut her eyes and ran straight towards the gate. -------------- "I know, I know. It's silly for me to worry... but..."
-
"I think... I can see the graveyard gates ahead," said Anna. "And there's a light beyond." "Better make sure we're not followed," muttered Skye. He turned in midair to face the monster, incanted a long stream of words, then part of the ground on font of the monster erupted, forming a barrier of rocky bars. --------------- "If somethings... If something happened to them..." Melody began to wring her hands together, in the same way Anna had a habit of doing.
-
"Okay Anna, time for you to take the lead," said Skye as he started to fly and took her hand. "Wha... m-me? But..." "You're the fastest of the three of us, so drag us along!" Anna gulped, nodded, then took off at full speed. --------------- "I... I hope so Hope," said Melody, looking back at the exit, worried etched on her face.
-
"Lets go," called Skye, taking Tikal by the hand as they ran. ------------- Melody came to a sudden halt as she was blinded by the light. As her eyes adjusted, the sights and sounds of everyday life came into fouce. "Oh thank everything," she said, sinking down to her knees.
-
"I'm just wishing it's the final exit, and it won't lead us to some other horror filled trap," said Melody as she hurried up the stairs.
-
Skye coughed as he hit the ground. Anna leaned over to help him up. "Time to run I think," wheezed Skye. -------------- "Cool. I just better make sure it's tough enough to survive a drop at the speeds... Hey, I think I can see light ahead!"
-
Skye began choking as he was lifted by the neck. "Please... let him go... just let him go," begged Anna. As he was raised up, Skye aimed a kick at the side of the creatures face. --------------- "Do you have something a bit more... portable? I mean, no offence, but I'm not the type to sit a computer all day."
-
"Aw crap," hissed a very worried Skye, the shock causing his concentration to weaken and the sword to disappear. He tried to back away but was blocked by Anna. "Well, I-I'm... I'm always u-up for a scientific c-challenge," Skye replied, failing utterly at sounding blasé. ------------ "You could make me a cake," joked Melody, "or find some way for the two of us to stay in touch even while your stuck working in the UF!"
-
Skye fought to keep his fear from showing on his face, and to keep his hand steady. "No," Skye replied, concentrating, "This." The entire torch suddenly erupted into flame, which molded itself into the shape of a sword. Despite it being made of fire, it didn't seem to burn Skye around the hilt. "And believe me, I know how to handle a blade." Mentally, Skye started counting down the time, because he knew the spell wouldn't last long. Anna gave a slight whimper at what was happening. ----------- "Oh c'mon, none of those count. They were all fake situations. Even this one!" replied Melody with a grin. "Besides, what are friends for?"
-
Skye and Anna leapt back with shock. Skye thrust his torch out like a sword, while Anna cowered behind him. "I'm gonna save my sister and my friend, and you ain't gonna stop me," he warned. ------------------- "Good idea. I've got my feet free again," said Melody as she started running again.
-
"Too late," Skye replied as he picked up a torch from the wall. "That thing could have done anything to you." Anna grabbed her own torch. "Lets hope there's no strong winds in here," said said quietly. -------------- Hope little dramatic display cause Melody to giggle. The Chao nearby retreat, some actually popping a the torch came close. -------------- "I think I'd prefer somewhere a little more quiet."
