"Okay, I'll keep my eye's open," Skye promised.
-
Skye raised an eyebrow at Hope's warning. "Hostile? He seems perfectly friendly to me."
-
"Careful? About what?" asked Skye with an edge of amusement. --------------- "I wouldn't know. I've never had fox!"
-
"That's a concerned face," said Skye as he walked up. "What are you thinking about? By the way, Lucas and I are gonna find his parents and ask them if it's okay for him to join us for the movies. We'll catch up with you at the hotel."
-
"That's a very handy ability to have," Anna said to Tikal. "I wish I had it when......................... I, uh............ nevermind," --------------- "I'm safe from being eaten for now, but I'll try and stop pushing my luck."
-
"Unless he's from Moebius thirty years from now he shouldn't know either of us. Anna's only just gone black and red after all," pointed out Melody, causing Anna to shuffle her feet awkwardly.
-
"Me? I haven't noticed him looking at me," said Anna. "But I don't think I've seen him before, either." "Maybe my and Anna's paranoia is rubbing off on you two?" suggested Melody. ---------------- "I doubt that! You'd miss me if you ate me!"
-
"Looking at me?" Melody glanced back at Lucas. "Nope, pretty sure I've never seen that kid before at all.... Or as an adult thirty years from now." ------------- Ziona looked at the two Glens. "Yep, both you you can put your foot in your mouth easily!"
-
"You really think he's hiding something? It's not just that he's weirded out by us?" ----------------- "Good idea," replied Ziona
-
"I think you're right. He seems fine with Skye, but not really with anyone else. Maybe he's just uncomfortable around girls?" Melody suggested.
-
"Oh wow! You're right, I almost forgot," Miles replied. "I think they're still back at the park. I better go tell them." Inwardly, Miles smiled to himself. He'd been prepared for this eventuality, and had an appropriate illusion spell ready to go. ---------------- "Something like that, yeah!"
-
"Hotel sounds good," said Melody. "Wait till you see the size of the TV we've got there," said Skye to Lucas. "It's massive." "Cool," replied Miles, hoping that word wouldn't end up entering his normal vocabulary, Anna paid for her purchases, then Skye went through the till. ----------------- Ziona gave a self-conscious chuckle. "Yeah, we are now. We just had... a long long talk last night"
-
"I think we do," said Skye. "Films, popcorn. I'd say we're all set!" said Melody happily. -------------- "How sweet of you," replied Ziona, hints of a blush showing.
-
"Yep, thanks," Skye replied, trying to rebalance his pile.
-
"What's this about using me as a microwave?" asked Skye as he caught up with the girls. Miles followed Tikal, hoping that an opportunity to talk to Mina privately would come sooner rather than later. The sappy 'wholesomeness' if this group was becoming wearying. ------------------------ "I'm not singing here, so I've plenty of time to breath," she laughed. "And just as well. You too know fine well how horrible my singing is," she said, looking at the two Glens.
-
"Thanks," replied Miles, nodding. ------------- "Or Skye would just get infuriated with use using HIM as a microwave!" ------------- "Ouch! Sounds like you're finally tired of all my jokes!"
-
Miles nodded. "Another time. I... don't want to talk about this right now." -------------- "And you could impress them by using your magic to pop the popcorn in it's bag," suggested Melody, who then paused. "Or is it already popped?" she asked. -------------- "Heh, yeah. Cursed by your limitations!"
-
"That's good. But I shouldn't bring down your holiday with my problems," said Miles, hoping that the Echidna girl would stop trying to prob into his feelings. --------------- "Uh, film's. I have two!" said Anna. "And Skye looks like he has a dozen or something. But aside from that I think we're done... unless..." Melody eyed the stand next to the tills. "Shall we grab some popcorn for our movie watching? I think that's the tradition?" --------------- "Ah, that's true. You can't keep doing what you love for every hour of the day unfortunately. Probably so you don't get tired of it."
-
"Don't worry. I think there were a couple of people outside the shop who didn't hear you yell there!" joked Melody
-
"I think she actually cares for someone else." Miles paused, surprised, and a little angry at himself, for how much he was opening up to this girl. "But it doesn't matter. I'm not here to bother you with my problems," he said, wanting to end the conversation. -------------- "Some people would need to learn to loosen up," laughed Ziona, "or invest in earmuffs for when they want to sleep!"
-
"Aww! You're my best friend EVAR!" replied Melody in an equally fake soppy voice.
-
"She already knows," Miles replied, a little sadness starting to creep into his voice. -------------- "Aww, no free entry for your friend?" pleaded Melody. -------------- "But isn't part of your job making sure you're heard!" said Ziona.
-
Hmm. Could be they're playing it safe, and going for a basic plot to continue to get everyone used to the new continuity?
-
Miles was a little surprise at Tikal showing such concern. He considered all the possible avenues he could take to defect this, then decided that telling a half-truth would be best. "I... Look, I'm a little jealous of you two. There's a girl back home that I like, but... it's like she's forgotten all about me." ---------------------- "My guess is I'll enjoy it for maybe a week, then get sick of it and want another dream adventure or something!" said Melody. ---------------------- Ziona glanced between the two Glen's, wondering if they were telepathic or something for Prime Glen to know her fake name. Then she shrugged. "Yeah! More so than you know!" Ziona replied.
-
"Sure. Thanks, I guess," replied Miles, putting on the appearance of a warm smile. ------------ "You just made normal life sound horrible," said Anna in a mock shocked voice. "And I don't think having a job at your age is normal either'," Melody pointed out. ----------- "We've got the makings of quite a nice gathering here, isn't that right Al?" she asked Glen, casting a significant look at Prime Glen, hoping he understood the idea of using a fake name.
