"So you two are safe. What about the rest of us mere-mortals?" asked Melody tensely. "And are we just gonna sit around until she yells eureka or something?"
-
"If she doesn't intend to kill us, that's probably worse. Do you think she just asked those guards nicely to help he?."
-
"Darn it, where's Skye when we need his science brain?" complained Melody --------- "Why would you want to do that?" asked Skye. "Can't you just leave me alone to do this?"
-
Skye turned to face Spark, one of his hands reaching through the portal. "Oh nononono! What are you doing here?" asked Skye aggressively.
-
"From what I've heard about her it's not gonna be anything like that," muttered Melody. "But something much, much worse."
-
In the main portal room, Skye completed his hack of the targeting system. He quickly copied the program to his own small wrist wrist computer. Giving a twisted grin, he walked over to where part of the room was blast shielded and sealed off. "Though you could hide it?" he mocked. With a few commands on his wrist computer, another portal opened on front of Skye, multicolored lights swirling beyond.
-
"What the &@£$ do you think she's up to?" Melody whispered to Rouge and Shadow. --------- "Wait Miles. The good Hope's still in the bubble too," said Anna. "Some sacrifices need to be made." "Miles!" The fox turned back to look at Anna. For a second he said nothing. "Fine. But as soon as she's clear...."
-
"The whole assassin thing sometimes comes in handy," Melody replied. ----------- Miles dropped back to his knees when Anna mentioned an antidote. He looked back at the two Hopes. "I think I have a way to stop her," he whispered to Anna. "How? That shield of her protects her from anything... if rumors are true..." Anna replied. "They are. Magic might not be able to pass through it. But there's no reason I can't use magic on her surroundings to entomb her. Shield or no shield, she'll be buried alive." Slowly and subtly, he began gathering magical energy.
-
"Some how I doubt it even now," muttered Melody. -------------- "I've let Shadow and Crowley go," Miles whispered to Anna. He took ahold of her hand. "They can deal with Hope. Now we need to get out of here." "No, we can't Miles," Anna replied holding him back. "They're my friends. I need to help them." Miles stared at her. "You have changed..." he breathed. "And we need to find a cure for you too," Anna continued.
-
"Don't worry," replied Melody. "I ain't gonna argue with that. Provided they keep a better eye on him this time. Boy, these chains are hard. i guess Miles really didn't want you two getting free." A second later Melody fell back as the chains suddenly went slack and dropped off Shadow and Crowley. "That... wasn't me," Melody muttered.
-
"Miles?" Anna whispered as she reached the fox. "Mina?" Miles rose his head, looking at her with surprise. "But you were, how did you....?" "Miles, I... I'm sorry I ran from you like that. I'm sorry I didn't explain what happened. But we have to stop her. You know what she's capable of. Once she's stoped, then we can talk. But please, help us now?" Anna pleaded.
-
"Focus or I'll give you another sock in the face," muttered Ziona as she arrived in the main room. And sighed. "Almost... there..." hissed Melody as she concentrated on the chains. Unforntialty, only Anna's came loose with a clang. "Blast. Hold on you two. I'll try and get yours," said Melody to Shadow and Crowley. "Where has Skye gone? This is his area of expertise." Anna slowly made her way over to Miles.
-
"Calm down Glen," said Ziona. "This situation is bad enough already." --------------- While the two Hope's were distracted, Melody snuck round behind Anna, Crowley and Shadow. She took ahold of their chains. "Disenchanting isn't really my thing, but Miles doesn't seem to be a position to resit right no, so... just keep quiet."
-
"While you lot are busy fighting, I'm trying to contact the rest of the Zone cops," said Ziona irritably to Glen. "But something seems to be blocking my signal." A large chunk of the bases wall disappeared in a cloud of rubble as Skye unleashed the magic energy he'd be charging. He began making his own way inside. (ooc: Uh, Spark? Shadow was intending for Hope and Hope to have a chat. I hope you don't intend to interrupt?"
-
"Hold tight!" cried Melody as she spirited ahead of everyone else. She flew past the guards before they could react. Remembering the plans from when she'd been in Haven during the attack, it didn't take her long to reach the main lab. She skidded to a halt at the odd scene on front of her.
-
"If you want to talk to yourself, given Dylan has started charging, I think you might need me to give you a lift inside..." said Melody. ---------- "He made.... Miles, Please! Do the right thing. Let the three of us go..." called Anna
-
(ooc: Doesn't matter. We're all here now) "Thank's Hope," said Melody with a gasp, slightly winded by Skye's kick. "Now Hope's right Skye. We gotta be careful. There seems to be some guards outside for starters. Everyone, we need to plan this quickly." Skye looked furious, but said nothing to anyone. ------------ Anna managed a small smile. "He didn't think I was in the right mind. I don't blame him. It's not like I was being terrible convincing. And I think he might be listen now. Are you Miles?" She looked over to the fox, and repeated "Miles?" with some concern. The fox was sitting in the corner, knees tucked close into him body. Somehow he looked even more disheveled than before. "Let us go," Anna pleaded to Hope. "Please just let us go."
-
(ooc: I though Spark that you'd have been teleported with the second group.) "Your radio signal was still open. We lock onto that," said Ziona to Dylan as she caught up. Skye glowered at Melody, aiming a kick at her stomach. ----------- "He was my friend," said Anna. "One of only a few. And I know he think's he's doing what's best to me... I... should have explained it to him... But I just ran..."
-
Melody looked around as they arrived and, seeing Skye ahead with Locke and Dylan, sprinted over and tacked him to the ground. "Hey, what the..." "Skye, you are not going in there. Remember what happened the last time?" Melody asked. ------------ "Why do you keep calling me a leech?" asked Anna sadly.
-
"I say charge straight in," said Skye to Dylan and Locke. ------------ "Is your teleporter still keyed to Zone transportation?" Ziona asked Zamy. ----------- "YOU $!£@%!," screamed Anna struggling against her restraints. "IF IT WASN'T FOR THESE CHAINS I'D... I'd... I'd..." she broke off looking shocked at her outburst.
-
Skye followed silently and determinedly behind. ------------ "We better get back to the hotel now," said Ziona ------------ "Con... concoction?" Anna's eye's moved between Miles and Hope. "WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?" she screamed at Hope.
-
"Thank's Tikal. Stay safe!" called Skye
-
With Zamy's revelation Melody's face turned from anger to utter horror and fear. "We've... we've gotta save them." --------- "We don't need to go back to Moebius Mina," said Miles. "We could go to any Zone. The Zone Cop's can't trace these portals."
-
Skye nodded and to ahold of Dylan. ----------- Ziona sighed and glanced towards Zamy. "You see... Well... Miles escaped from No-Zone jail. We think he might have abducted Anna, Crowley and maybe Shadow." If looks could kill, the glare from Melody would have left both Zone Cop stone cold. -------------- "I'm not..." began Miles, then he spun round, clasping his hand on the edge of a desk, his back to the group. "I... I dunno Shadow. It just feels wrong... to be this unsure after being certain for so long. And Miles...." "I might have been wrong about how you changed," said Miles quietly, still with his back to everyone, "but I knew you would be able to stomach your new personalty."
-
'I've got this really unpleasant feeling...' thought Melody. "Girls. We have a problem. We need to head back to the hotel now," said Ziona. --------- "No Shadow no... This wasn't a charade, no..." said Anna, wringing her hands together. "But... I... I used to know exactly what to do. What to say. I was confident. Now... I'm just a pathetic wreck."
