I didn't watch the Sonic X anime much, except for the first few episodes on that GBA Video Cartridge I obtained from a funny Canadian dude. I also saw a few episodes when flipping through the channels a few years ago. The thing I enjoyed about Sonic X was that it was (partially) an adaptation of the games. I don't dislike original Sonic stories, but the ambiguous canon between the games and the comics and various cartoons is irritating sometimes. I think making an anime of a game while keeping the storyline relatively unchanged allows viewers to see the game in a different light.

SEGA's Genesis was superior to Nintendo's NES, but SEGA doesn't do hardware anymore, which I suppose is kind of a mixed blessing. Now you don't have to really choose since many games are cross-platform anyway.

Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing 2?
Fwiss replied to superomegasonic's topic in Multiverses of Sonic the Hedgehog
I think I'm going to buy it just so I can play it with my friends. I don't have many multiplayer games except Super Smash Bros. Brawl and some RPGs. vladikcomper, do you think its multiplayer is as fun as other racing games like Mario Kart? Or... Sonic R, Riders, or Drift? -
True dat, but all the characters in Sonic Chronicles are a bit fast compared to standard characters. Maybe his apparent absence is due to lack of manpower at SEGA. That's all I can think of.

Hmm, didn't Project X Zone have Megaman X in it, too? It would have been nice to see the two blue dudes duke it out. From what I know, though, Project X Zone has some kind of strategy element to it, and I suppose Sonic's speed wouldn't fit into the character balance. It seems like the characters all roughly move at the same speed, so Sonic's running would throw them off. I guess SEGA was afraid of adding a secondary Sonic character such as Tails or Knuckles because they weren't popular enough.

This new bar on the top is pretty cool. It reminds me of Twitter.

This is the Wiki Most Needed thread, where everyone can come to see the most needed wiki articles. Any member can post to request help on a certain topic, and we administrators will also post sections that are in need of help. Right now, our current objective is on the official games and the moves in them. For example, the Homing Attack article features variations between games, but I don't have all the games, so you guys could help this article a lot!

I loved the ESEII! However, there are certain things you can't do in ESEII, simply because it edits the ROMS. Disassemblies have less limits. So once you've gotten used to it, it's much easier to use SonED2. In the Russian community, I wonder what the most popular editor is?

Cave Story was one of the best games I've ever played. It doesn't really fit into any category, but it's a great platformer and adventure game. I suppose anyone who likes Sonic or Megaman would love Cave Story. It's actually really short once you know what to do, but it has high replay value, too. The secret level is addictive, and I've beaten it with all the weapons, including the starting one. There have been multiple official ports, too, although they're all commercial. The most recent one, Cave Story + (PC), I don't know if I'll ever play. I would love to try the scrapped level and the HD graphics, but 10 dollars is a lot to shell out for HD graphics and an extra level (although to be fair there is a boss run and a couple of other extras, too) My only complaint is that it's too short. I'ven't tried Cave Story 3D, but I think I'd like to get that. I haven't seen any videos since I haven't found any 3DS emulators. P.S: Anybody cry when

Well darn, I was considering buying this. It's 512MB, darn. I knew that was a bit old.

Hmm, I love Sonic basically more than most Nintendo franchises, but I do like a lot of Nintendo franchises, like Kirby, Metroid, and Super Smash Bros. In terms of consoles, I couldn't give an objective POV here. Obviously, SEGA was ahead of their time with the Genesis and Mega Drive. They were 16-bit before Nintendo could have dreamed. The Genesis was made to compete with the NES, and then the SNES came out later, and some argue that the Genesis outcompeted it too. The Saturn was an awkward failure, not much to say there except negativity, though 3D Blast for the Saturn was better IMO, and I'd like to try Sonic Jam out sometime. The Dreamcast was ahead of its time again with Windows CE. No other system had such a heavy OS-based structure (this analysis on this generation excludes the XBOX, which was almost like a Dreamcast in many ways, Microsoft made the OS for both, and they were both good hardware, but the XBOX came out BECAUSE the DC had failed in the mainstream), and homebrew for the DC still continues to this day. The homebrew apps movement basically started with the DC, along with the Gaming-system-having-OS trend. Sadly, its software did not impress many gamers. Of course I'd love to play Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 on the DC, but Shuffle was known as bad, and SEGA basically had Sonic holding up the DC. Nintendo on the other hand, while having less powerful hardware, had the support of many developers. So that's my opinion: SEGA dominated in the hardware market, but Nintendo beat them with sotware.

Wow, that's great, Lunar! I think I could run that on my netbook, though do you mind if you report your video card stats, that's my weakest link here. Try GPU-Z. My computer's video card is 16MB, which I've heard is insanely low. Nevertheless, my friend played it on his medium-level laptop, and it was a Java implementation, so something as slow as that running on a medium laptop and still running fairly well makes me feel like it'd run except for the video card.

When I first tried drawing Sonic images, I opened up a picture of Chaos on my Mega Collection Plus and drew him using any landmarks I could, and it turned out very well! The original drawing is gone now, but it's a great way to start, kind of a border between tracing and drawing!

I would hate myself. At least, that would be the absolute first thing I do after all the stages of grief. If the person I really loved broke up with me, I would not be angry at her, of course. I might get angry at someone near her, who maybe might not have wanted us together, but for the scope of this topic I'm just going to assume she independently came to the conclusion that she doesn't want to be with me. First, just using the kind of person I am as a template and my psychological reactions to similar shocks, I'd say I'd be self-conscious very heavily, at least that's what happened at my last 'breakup' event. After a couple of months, it would depend on the way the breakup happened. If she stated a reason, I would try to fix it a bit too obsessively. It would probably change me for the rest of my life, though that goes without saying. Of course, almost luckily human relationships don't work that way. They decline slowly for a short amount of time at least, then comes the breakup, at least giving you time to think. By the time you get to the breakup, the situation has led you to believe that maybe she is not the ideal person to be with after all. Sure, it's suffering, but a breakup immediately during a perfect relationship is not something that would ever come about without notice (bittersweet hooray)!

Found it hiding. Kinda large image though, so I'm gonna use a spoiler. And vladikcomper, your drawing is pretty amazing. That shading makes it look 3D very well, though he does seem short for Modern Sonic.

Well, I finally finished installing grub4dos on my PC, so now I am dual-boot equipped without having to use a special CD every time.

Anyone know the system requirements for Minecraft? And by that, I mean personal experience on computers. I wonder what it would run on with a couple of setting set to "Normal?"

New Rumoured Game, Sonic Dimensions?
Fwiss replied to Kamicciolo's topic in Multiverses of Sonic the Hedgehog
Extra characters are always a great idea in a game, but I think the reason might be that the designers might not have designed it right. For example, they might plan extra characters but get back to it later and instead work on level design. When they finish level design and work on the extra characters, they find out that there might be all kinds of glitches or the level design with the new characters are too easy or too hard, so they must either tweak the levels to be right for all characters, or they must create completely new levels or alternate versions of an existing level. The latter option would obviously take up too much time, but the first option may make the game mediocre. So the only real solution is to account for the new characters early into the game design, or alternatively make the characters only minor changes from each other, the first of which was done in the Sonic Adventure Series very well. Since the Hedgehog Engine doesn't really account for other characters (Tails in a 3D Sonic Unleashed stage? Humbug! Knuckles as Werehog Sonic would work, but just because they planned in the Werehog BEFOREHAND), we should assume that any game using it will feature only one character. -
Your English is great! Excluding your note saying that your English isn't that great. It's supposed to be '..my english skills AREN'T so awesome. Kinda ironic that your english was great until you said it wasn't. Anyway, how about this sad story. I got a IDE to USB adapter so I can use my CD drive with it, but the wire to the cable blocks the port for power on the CD drive. Luckily it works on hard drives both SATA and IDE, but still, pretty sad huh?

I can't draw Sonic characters if my life depended on it. I can, however, try to draw some Eggman robots! I think it's because I'm bad at curves... I can only draw straight lines with accuracy. let me find my Eggman robot drawing... In the meantime, here's a hack I did of E101 MKII!

New Rumoured Game, Sonic Dimensions?
Fwiss replied to Kamicciolo's topic in Multiverses of Sonic the Hedgehog
The name is kind of clever... Sonic Generations was time, Sonic Colors was color, and so Dimensions is space... I would have never thought to use Colors, as only time and space are obvious (they tried time and space with Pokemon's Fourth generation, didn't they?). Kudos to SEGA for coming up with an interesting idea. -
I enjoy action platformers like Sonic (and Megaman), but when I feel like playing something a bit more challenging, I turn to Shoot 'Em Ups, or Shmups. Personally, I like all shmups, but right now I'm into Touhou (My whole channel has Touhou stuff due to lack of good stuff to upoload). Maybe I like shhmups because it makes me feel like I'm skilled. Anyone else played this genre before? Here's my brother's run. It's a bit quiet, so turn up the volume if you want to hear the beautiful Touhou music.
