Chromatic Terras

Gamma and Knuckles arrive at what appears to be a small lake near the edge of the forest. Gamma pulls out his blaster once more and fires a bright yellow flare into the water. Moments later, the water begins to rise as a tunnel structure begins to appear out of nowhere. "Cloaking tunnels huh?" Knuckles says, trying to hide his impressed face. "It did not take long for technology to advance. It's amazing how fast things progress when an immediate threat is constantly there. Come, the tunnel only stays above for 30 seconds." The two of them enter and the tunnel begins to sink underwater again. Gamma motions Knuckles to hold onto handles that were on the floor. Before he could ask why, they begin increasing in speed dramatically as they rocket down to the bottom of the lake. "This thing is a lot deeper down than I thought!" Knuckles screams trying to keep from being thrown onto the ceiling. Gamma lets out a robotic laugh. "As you may have already guessed, there's also still quite some distance between us and the base. The lake may seem small on the surface, but it actually connects under the entire continent and into the ocean. We have created undersea transports to get to this base." Oh oh oh! What are we riding!? "What else would Shadow want to use other than motorcycles." "Shadows in the same area as you?" "Affirmative. We only have so many bases left. That is also why I'm certain we can get you back to your time. We are heading to our science wing and Shadow had taken charge over it after he lost his chaos powers from the lack of emeralds." The tunnel begins to slow down as the light underwater completely fades. A loud noise goes off and lights turn on, revealing a line of hydro powered cycles and a long highway. Gamma mounts one and looks back. "My sensors assume you will have a very enjoyable ride."

Then I'm taking it now, for I want this win.

"Although the trio has been left in Eggman Empire, no one has seen them recently. The clones are therefor forced to look as your younger selves, or as you look now. That is why I took you for an enemy in the beginning." Gamma scans over the robot and then connects to its head. "What are you doing now?" Knuckles asks "Acquiring data and possible upgrades. This model seems to be the last one for this area. We are safe to move on." Shouldn't you have to worry about viruses that Eggman may plant? "Negative, Robotnik no longer controls my unit, so he does not have the proper software to enter my mind. Also, my soul would act as a back-up to override any movement." Knuckles walks around a bit. "So what's our next step?" "I will take you to the squad I am currently assigned to, and we will find a way to take you back to your own world." "Wait...just like that?" "It is not your place to be here, nor should it be your burden. If anything were to happen to you, your world would suffer the most."

Ah you swindling swindles! I'll take that right back.

"So what have you guys been doing since then?" Knuckles asks "Without you three, our overall power has decreased dramatically. There have been more casualties than ever." Gamma stops for a moment. "Also, although Angel Island still exists, Robotnik destroyed the Master Emerald and searched for every other chaos emerald in this world. The only ones left are those in us robots, and in his chamber. Without any way to be in contact with the chaos powers, it was only a matter of time before people lost reaction to it." ​Hence why we were given this sword and dimensional device? "I am unsure of how you two obtained those items. It may have been a stroke of luck from your travels. However it showed potential through fighting me, so I will not doubt it.....be ready, we are no longer alone." Knuckles puts his hand on his sword, however Gamma reaches out to ease him. Suddenly, Sonic comes bursting through the bushes at high speed, aiming right for Knuckles. Before he could react, Gamma intercepts his spin dash from the side, slamming him into a tree. His hand had already shifted into blaster mode, and he fires full force into Sonic. Once the smoke clears, Knuckles walks up to the body and see's wires and electricity sparking everywhere. "These clones are disgusting accurate." he says "Indeed they are Guardian Prime. But their accuracy is what gives them away."

Knuckles catches up as Gamma begins his story. "Our worlds were very much the same in which events occurred. However, there was a slight change to ours that created a massive shift. A strange meteor had hit years ago and decimated most of the planet. Only Angel Island, Robotnikss battleships and some parts of the old New Mobotropolis survived. Everything else is gone. While both sides we're trying to rebuild. The debris from the meteorite had covered the world, and mutated those living on it. It gave people a 2nd subconcious, unattached from their own. Most had been able to coop and live better from it. Robotnik was not so lucky. As you know, he was already going insane to begin with. Now with two minds constantly battling out, he finally snapped for good, and continues to unleash armies of robots onto the world." How long has this been going on? "From my data, the meteor crashed in the year 3235. It is now 3250." "If that's the case, how come you attacked me thinking I was an imposter? Wouldn't I look different by now?" Knuckles asks "With no clear way to reach Robotnik, the remaining Chaotix and Freedom fighters have been hiding for the last 10 years. The only clones that can be made are those of yourself from 3240, which isn't much of a difference from how you look now. Self replicated clones huh? Just great. Gamma continues to walk on. "With the non-stop army of clones continuing to be produced, there was no choice but for everyone to separate and seek refugee. There are now 3 main continents that shape this world. The arid wastelands, this overgrown rain forest, and Eggmans Empire." We are currently in the southern most part of the forest. If we continue north, we will find some refugee underground camps." "So you were acting as a guard then?" "Indeed I was Guardian Prime." "How do you know I'm from the prime dimension?" "Our Sonic and Tails have come to help you numerous times. From our knowledge, you are the only other dimension that looks and acts the same as our own. However, we have fallen. Your dimension is the main now." Where is Sonic, Tails, and your Knuckles now? "Those three have been living in Eggman Empire for the last 5 years. They have been unable to make it back, but from my knowledge have not been captured either."

(OOC: lol I'm actually feeling like developing a full on story out of this. I don't know where I planned on stopping it, but I kind of wanted to bring Knuckles back into the main RPM with a few friends. Gamma is the first.)

Knuckles explains his situation and Gamma lowers his blades. "So you are Knuckles Prime?" Gamma asks "I guess so. However, recently I've been thrown around a bunch of different worlds and dimensions. Now I only wish to find my father and his family." Knuckles gets up, rubbing his chest and neck. "I apologize to causing such difficulty for you." Gamma retracts his swords and puts out his hand. It seems he does have a soul in this world as well. "Indeed I do, Undersense." Gamma replies as Knuckles shakes his hand. It quickly makes him jump back however. "You can hear my subconscious?" Knuckles asks startled. "Indeed, it is a long story. Allow me to explain, and then I will aid you any way that I can, Guardian Prime." Gamma begins walking off. Knuckles nods and follows him.

Matching blow for blow, Knuckles only advantage was his shear strength would stagger Gamma before he could bring the other blade around. Suddenly, Gamma raises his leg and kicks Knuckles straight in the chest, knocking the wind out of him. He walks above and holds his blades to his neck. "Victory" Gamma says. "Gamma wait!" Knuckles panics. "I thought you had a soul! Why are you still hunting us down?" "You are not Knuckles the Echidna. All impostors must be terminated." Gamma replies. Suddenly it made sense now. Being in a different dimension meant that there was indeed another Knuckles running around. Think of something fast man! "Gamma please listen for a moment! I'm not the Knuckles you know, but I'm here to help!" There is a pause as the robot discontinues getting closer to ending his life. "State your business here." he says.

Sorry Dylan, but I'm the true winner here.

(3rd person time) "I see..." Knuckles says, and begins approaching Gamma. The robot turns and immediately draws its weapons. Knuckles ducks out the way barely as Gamma begins a full scale barrage in his direction. Knuckles we need to move. If we don't stop him, the whole forest will be destroyed now. "Yea, I get that, but how do you expect me to get close to him if he fires at first site?" Hmm.... Suddenly some fruit begins falling from the trees as they get shaken around. Bright red juice spills everywhere. I have an idea, start throwing those things into the air. If he fires at you without scanning first, it will slow him down if he registers a hit. "On it." Knuckles starts grabbing as much of the fruit as he an that didn't break from the fall. He draws his sword and tosses them up in the air. Gamma immediately aims wildly at the fruit in the sky, giving Knuckles just enough time to sprint under him for a blind swipe. He cuts Gammas blaster clean off, however, he simply shifts his mechanics around and now held two double edged blades. This isn't looking good at all. "Yea, tell me about it....."

As Knuckles continues through the forest, he spots a lone being in the distance. "Shh, do you want them to hear you?" They can't, I'm in your mind. "Oh....right. Who is that?" By the looks of things. I believe that's Gamma. "Gamma? I thought he died to Omega." This is a different dimension Knuckles. For all we know Eggman could rule everything and never lost a battle yet. Let's approach him, cause I doubt we'll be able to sneak by if we continue in this direction.

As Knuckles slashes through the forest and swing across vines, he continues making his way north bound. Hoping to find civilization. "Must you comment on everything I do?" Indeed I shall. It is my role as your inner self. "Ugh, fine....so what caused you to pop into existence anyhow?" ​It seems as though this dimension defuses your inner thought process with yourself, causing it to be as if there were two separate beings inside one. I cannot hear your actual thoughts, and I can only assume you can't hear mine. "I can't. So what happens if I were to leave this zone." I am unsure. I only know what's been given to you here. However, your family is still mine, so I can only assume that I will reunite as part of your thoughts and vanish completely. "I see...well then I guess I shouldn't rush things. Even one's own mind should get a break every once in a while." Ah.....thank you Knuckles....

(I fell back and lost my spot again lol. Going on a little spin off to try and stay in the RPM cause between today and tomorrow, I got a lot to do, so I won't be able to update much again. And it's a good place to try different things and add characters to practice being IC as them with different situations.)

Being wrapped again by space and time, Knuckles is thrown off into an unfamiliar land once more. He get's up to see himself surrounded by large trees and very humid climate. "Ah great, just when I was getting used to the family again...." *Checks dimensional device* "Hmm, looks like I'm now in a different zone as them, I just need to....wait, where did I get this? And how do I know how to use it? And what's with these clothes???" Knuckles realizes he now has an adventurers belt, filled with an inter-dimensional map, and items to help him survive the rugged wilderness of that which is a rain forest. And he has a fancy hat to boot. ".....Who's talking about me?" Ah yes. I am your subconscious dear Knuckles. As you may not be aware, you can now longer use your chaos powers. Your travels among the dimensions have begun to shape you anew. Now you must rely on Feudal Japanese tactics as you make your way through this forest, and the challenges that await. *Looks down to see Katana* "So you give me a useless map, a sword, and my Grandfather Hawkings hat...." ​Twas not I, for I am simply your new self conscious. It was fate. Now let us begin our journey to reunite with our family. *Looks around and begins walking in a direction* "This is going to be a hassle......"

You joined the Legion? And where's my Master Emerald Dylan!? I haven't seen it in ages.

Ha the DEL? Sounds like everyday trouble to me. Let's march straight in and take them out right now.

Ah, he's gonna have the win for like 2 days. It's only 7:40pm for me lol. Anyway, happy birthday Locke, and my Father IC. :D
