  1. Well, personally to me at least, this isn't writer's block material. ...But there really isn't anywhere else to put this kind of thing (Cept maybe the Fan works, but that's debatable) and I do appreciate you keeping this area alive while I work on my projects to put here. ...Or at least try to. So I suggest continuing what you're doing here. ^_^

That said, while I don't find these necessarily hilarious (Don't worry about it, my sense of Humor's weird. XD) I do find them somewhat clever, and in that sense, pretty good. Do keep it up. :D

  2. "Broaden the Audience/Demographic"...

You know, I think in any, ANY form of media, those words should be some kind of blasphemy or taboo. Can anyone tell me one time someone has ever "broaden the audience" and it turned out good? What is it with people and trying to press their luck with trying to expand the fanbase, especially when almost all, if not all, past experiences with doing so led to disasters for the franchise?

And yes, I also agree at this point with Hypermetal. The victory apparently made him think he's on top of the world and wanting to be higher and higher, and it's getting to a disturbing point. ...But alas, All the better a spectacle it will be to watch him fall from such inflated heights.

Ok, that's where I draw the line. It's one thing to get kicked and make his own stuff with his own characters. I never liked the idea of the Lara-Su Chronicles, and never will, but it's still his characters, and he can do whatever he wants with them. Even if it means turning them into some alien race. Whatever floats his boat.

But now to mock and insult Archie for something HE made them do, that officially makes Penders a jerk in my books. I don't care what he had to go through or what hardships he's been through, he has no right to go and insult people for the faults he MADE them make and then go "Oh, but I don't do those faults." Thus, my respect for him is lost, not that he'd care.

  4. Could we possibly combine the two? Just like how Sonic Boom isn't tied to any of the modern Sonic stuff, we have all the characters from the comic, however the comic storyline never existed because everyone travels through space to begin with. We could keep rivalries like Eggman, Finitevus, the Legion, and all that. Except it's all been in space from the start, and we make up our own complete story from it.

We could have separate planets be areas rather than just one, so everyone originated from Mobius, which is the home planet, however Eggman and the Legion and Mammoth Moguls forces have all left to take over their own planets in the solar system that we could make. The storyline could then be that while everyone was in a massive battle, they drifted too far out into unexplored space and got sucked into a wormhole, spitting them out on the other end of the galaxy. That could then give the ability for people to also create their own characters and what not if they chose. The main plot would be for everyone to try and race to build a warp drive to get back to their solar system, either to protect it from evil, or to take over it all. This way we can have a long lasting RP with multiple side plots, as well as a main goal. In terms of the Freedom Fighters, Chaotix, and what not, because there's so many of them, we could make two galatic sized ships (or more if we want the secret freedom fighters and other groups to be involved) to act as HUBs for a temporary home while each person gets their own mini ship to control and fly around in space that could carry a small squad if they wish for multiple characters to tag along. Eggman and all the other villains with have a massive HUB ship as well, of course Eggman has plenty of experience with making unnecessarily large fleets, but for the others we could give them something.

I do understand though that this idea would mean we all (or the GM's) would have to basically create an entire solar system or two with new aliens and horizons, but I'm more than willing to help out with it and feel like it'd be a fun experience.

...So basically your plan is "Lost in Space: The Sonic RP Edition".

1 problem with that: You have to remember that the purpose of Option 2 is to continue where the Comic's original continuity left off. If we combine it, we have to at least finish all the plot lines that were made in that continuity, that were never completed, before we get into space. ...That's part of the reason why I said that going between one and the other is drastic.

  5. Yeah, all those problems you just mentioned? ...They can be easily solved by, again, changing the name.

If you ship two characters by pretty much calling them spouses or something, of course the hate mail for shipping two incompatibles is understandable. Same for the whole Gay Marriage thing, which is something you don't want to get involved in, especially not right now when the states are in such an uproar between wanting it and not. (For the record, I'm not Homophobic. I have at least three friends, good friends, who are gay.)

Just call them something that's not intimate at all. Marriage system sounds like a system where you and your husband/wife relies on each other out of love. ...Well, Best friends don't need love to rely on each other, partners don't need love to rely on each other.

Personally I like your idea, it has potential, and I HAVE seen this kind of thing done before in an actual game. Just that name for it you need to change up.

The ONLY real problem I can see with this is that it's a hell of a lot of extra work.

  6. As interesting as it sound, I'm afraid I'll have to decline. ...At least for now. Mine is a writing project, and if all goes well, will turn out rather differently, effectively making it possibly incompatible with the RPG. I can't afford RPG Maker right now, and I have alot on the plate as is.

...That said, I may consider a Rain check if things on my end turn out exceptionally well. ^_^

Also: Here's a taste of what a Sonic RPG entails. ...It was made with RPG Maker 2003, so imagine what VX Ace can do with it.

  7. Ok, in that case, I know just the thing. Look up and try to get something called "RPG Maker VX Ace" ...Well, actually, I would think any PC RPG Maker would do, but that's apparently the latest one. The only problem you might have are the sprites. Not a lot of Archie comic characters were made into Sprites. Not alot of them that were made to sprites are made in as much quality as the Advance sprites.

As for the 3-D models, ...I'm not going to make any promises mate, but I think I know somebody who could do it.

    http://themysticalforestzone.com/Sprite_section.htm

Here, This place has most of the sprites you may need. Look up Other for the Archie characters. But again, not all of them may be there. I know Geoffrey isn't.

  8. Hmm...Well, combining them seems like a good idea for you personally. It solves the issue of worrying about two RPs for the price of one. My only concern with it is the fact that the switch from the continuation to the space RP will be a pretty drastic one. Though the fact that OCs are allowed certainly works for me either way. ^_^

If you can find a way to make that drastic switch, Skye, then by all means, make the two RPs do the fusion-dance. But otherwise, I recommend keeping them separate.

  9. Now that you mention it, starting at #130 wouldn't be a bad idea, the only problem is I want to omit Penders from it entirely for reasons that shouldn't be too hard to pick up.

I can understand that, but I'm afraid for all but the Megaman/crossover arc, that's not possible. Even as it stands with 160, you still will need to use Pender's creations for the Enerjak Arc, not to mention the Dark Egg Legion. Pender's creations are unavoidable, so you might as well bite the bullet and start at 130. Besides, only a pathetically paranoid man would strike out at a NON-PROFIT FAN GAME that just so happens to have work put into it. If Capcom can let fan games of Megaman get away, fan-games that are just as good a quality as the NES library of the Original series, if not a little more I might add, I don't think Penders will do any better. ^_^

  10. It's an interesting idea....But...Might I recommend starting at an earlier point in time? Specifically #130, When Sonic comes back after teleporting through space and apparently time. The way I see it, the Space Saga is the gap between old and new. It all starts when Sonic comes back home, and in hindsight it makes sense in the beginning to get a grasp of the enemies of the game. Starting at 160 is great for beginning the Moebius arc, but there are other arcs going at the time: Anonymous rings any bells? Yeah that means the story would be longer, and the game would take longer to make, but it's an RPG...There's no shame in making RPGs longer?

Also, in terms of your classes. ...It's not a bad idea, though I worry that the Fusions have the potential to be broken. If Fusions of two classes removes the weaknesses of those classes, new weaknesses must be made.

Also, Might I suggest a Power and Flight Class to start with as well?

As for me: The best I can do is write a script for you. But I don't need to do that since the comics already have everything you need in that department. ^_^

  11. Personally, I don't see CF that way at all. The OC's dominate the plot, creating a game that has a very, very different feel to the comics. Yes in some way it is a continuation, but that is more a technicality of the time period where the game is set, rather than the plot of the game, if that makes sense.

And the Metarex wouldn't be part of the 'criminal' group if they showed up. They'd be one of the bad guy races out there in the big, bad universe.

And if we go in a more Sonic X direction, maybe to your little spoiler!

So, uh, does that mean everyone would be happy with two games?

    Fair enough.

2 games? ...That puts you in a total 5 games, not count the Mania RPs. and 3 that you're in charge of...4 counting the temporary GM job of TDH. But if you can handle that, than by all means, go right ahead.

I have a firm grasp on the Comics' plotlines from before the crossover. I can't promise I'll join Option 2. (Joining Option 4 alone was something of a risk for me at the moment as it is.) But I CAN help you out with it if you need it.

Also, ...Please don't demean yourself by saying you're a crappy RPer man. At the very least, you're decent. I've seen crap many times before. I can tell you now you are FAR from that level. It's ok in terms of getting characters off-key. ...I'm still not convinced I'm on key with the characters I use in CF. ^_^

  12. Well looks like I'll have to reveal myself. I'm the one interested in creating a new RP and I have been talking to Skye for quite a while. I suggested him if it could be possible to create RPs for Option 2 and 4 in two separate stories. As of what I have seen most current players are interested in Option 4, unluckily I have no knowledge on the Sonic games, SatAm, AoStH, and I have some knowledge on Sonic X.... The main reason is that I had no interest on Sonic until I started reading the comics in this Forum last years, which implicates that my knowledge comes mostly from the comics. Also, even with my fascination for Sci-fi, I haven't been able to see Star Trek, but this isn't much of a problem for me and my imagination.... As for a continuation for Sonic the Hedgehog comics before the reboot and maybe the crossover, many of us would have liked to know what would of happened if Ian continued with his original writings...

Anyways. To the point... I'm here to ask for opinion and suggestion on creating an RP for Options 2 & 4, so what do you all think?

As much as I like the concept of Option 2, personally. I see Chaos Freedom as the RP that's showing that. ...Ok, adding the OCs as well, so I suppose it would count to make another that doesn't have OCs in them. For me, it's almost the same story though. (Almost.) I'm not saying that Option 2 shouldn't be done, simply saying why I prefer Option 4 instead.

That said, I'm also fine with adding in the Metarex, as long as they're not what the entireity of the criminals are, both in the case of the "Good" criminals and actual antagonists ...The only problem being I'm not exactly THAT knowledgeable when it comes to them. I know some of the basics such as what they are and really are, but not much else.

But if we're making Sonic X suggestions, then mind if I make one for a...*Ahem*...

    "Revived" Cosmo?

  13. Of course I don't mean ALL of them! DX I know I've shown to be good at multiple characters, but really I don't like having alot of characters in my possession.

I meant as in dibs on the faction, as in on the leader of the criminals and by extent what they are. ...Of course I'd have a few characters as well but not the whole crew

But yeah, fair enough. I'll wait and see.

  14. Right...Very well. I'd like to get the story up to a certain point anyways before making an RP out of it.

But the plot ideas part sounds...excellent. I'm a fan of Sci-fi, so making a space plot for me is easy.
