her seriousness would of outweigh sticks craziness
I think that explains why she wasn't used. I don't think the Boom comics are supposed to be serious. And I don't think they would've wanted the other characters to take the spotlight away from Sticks. So even if she was a perfect balance she still wouldn't get much time or use in the comics (and then we'd be complaining about that instead ;) )
True but a slight difference there would be that some people wouldn't be expecting much from Perci anyway. Given how much she is played down in the Boom!Verse. At the very least she would have been able to fight as a background character as opposed to cowering in the background and making quips about being useless. Haha
-
What about characters like Perci? She made an appearance both in the game and the TV show. That, and her design is a little bit more memorable than Fastidious Beaver. She'd seem more interesting than the other characters they threw in with Sticks.

Yeah.. every time you get scared of his works you take a drink. Every time you get a heart attack you take a drink.
Every time you see shoddy anatomy for one of his characters, take a drink XD

It would certainly be interesting if Flynn did end up writing the plot for one of the games in the future. Doesn't mean it would be good, since Video Games and comics are two very different mediums, but interesting for sure. I hadn't really cared much for the plot of a Sonic game since Unleashed, with a slight exception with Lost World, since while it wasn't the deepest of plots (Kinda mediocre actually) the interaction between sonic, Tails, and Eggman in that game was pretty entertaining.

You know what'd be funny? If he made all the Lara su chronicle characters look like freaky aliens. No, not the horrible renditions of his characters that he already made but like, xenomorph/predator kinda freaky aliens. And then wrote it how he was originally planning to, relationships, comedy and all. it'd be horrifying and hilarious and I wouldn't be able to tear my eyes away from it for a second. 8)
Now that...That would actually be hilarious as hell. I imagine you'd probably be able to make a few good drinking games from Pender's work. XD

In my opinion it wouldn't be a shame or a loss of the storyline if Sticks wasn't in the crossover. Same goes for her two sidekids :/
Sticks had a few good lines across the span of the comics but her 'sidekicks' were utterly useless. Maybe it's because I don't really follow Boom but I found the two of them to be boring and a waste of space. If they were going to bring other characters from the Boom!verse (aside from Boom!Sonic or the other members of the main cast in order to avoid confusion from character doubles) then they really should have had Sticks bring along someone else. Sticks, speaking of, was enjoyable to some extent though I felt the comics focused on her more than what they should have. Aside from the wall-breaking humor she didn't really represent the Boom!verse all that well.

That would be awesome. Seriously, that intro was amazing!
If they could make a whole game to that quality, or at least the same feeling that the intro gave off, that would be amazing.

Ooooh. Looks like this could be fun. I'll probably just get it as a rental for the Wii U whenever friends come over. These titles always are most enjoyable with friends as a party game.
What version are you guys leaning towards?

Sadly even if SEGA picks themselves off the ground for this game and it does turn out good, it's likely to sell poorly simply because it's Sonic Boom. With the reputation the franchise has after Rise of Lyric most people probably won't want to give this game so much as a chance. The trailer for this game didn't exactly fill me with confidence either...Just left me wondering why this game is even going to exist.

In recent years the game that left the most impact on me will have to be Assassin's Creed 2.
It's what got me into the series, drove me to cosplay as Ezio (which is how I met a ton of friends in the Assassin's creed guild) and got into the art of Parkour. -
Nononononono. Plz. The universe of Sonic Boom is crazy and she fits perfectly in that because her humor fits in the whole atmosphere of Boom. Seeing her in the Team of StH wouldn't be good for the clima in the Freedom Fighters. In Boom she is one of the maincharacters and if she would join the Freedom Fighters she would probably steal the show for Sally or Sonic because of her personality.
I like the way how she is in Boom and I respect her crazyness but in Worlds Unite for me she is just "hey I am sooooo unique!" In that scene from the screenshot with Axl I would probably be annoyed too and just say "Dude make your job alone. I'm outta here." She just command and don't fight and that's why I can't take her seriously in situations like this. For me she has to proove that she has skills and not just talk and command.
Agreed. Additionally the main comics already have their form of "comedic forth wall breaking character" in Bean the Duck, who I actually find much more enjoyable actually. It's probably how he's written and comes off as a little less hyperactive than Sticks, though he's by no means passive. That said, I would love to see a meeting between Sticks and Bean (more as a brief off panel or something of that nature) where maybe he calls her a try hard or they complain that the other is trying to rip off or copy their gig.
I will admit though that I did get a small giggle from her interaction with Main verse Sonic and Knuckles in that one issue.

Funny comic moments? Without a doubt Bean's Logic in the battle between Team Hooligan and the Chaotix and how everyone just stops for a moment, thinks it through and then is immediately ashamed. That was just golden.

I'm hoping they did keep him after the reboot however I did read this on the Mobius encylopedia which has me thinking he may not.
As SEGA's mandate claims that there is only one Metal Sonic in the new universe, it is possible that the Super Genesis Wave erased Shard out of existence or that it undid the events that led to the first Metal Sonic becoming Shard. However, considering the continued existence of Captain Metal, Shard's exact fate at the moment remains a mystery - it is possible that he doesn't 'count' as a Metal Sonic any more -
To be honest, I kinda prefer them rectoning Charmy's age after the genesis wave compared to how the writers caused Charmy to lose some of his sanity to "amend" the fact they had made him much older than he was supposed to be. Even Flyn admitted he wished he hadn't gone about it the way he had.

That's the new Sonic games for ya. Sure, Gens kinda hyped up the Time Eater, and even Colours had a fair bit of foreshadowing the Nega-Wisp Armour, with the big Nega-Wisp area in Asteroid Coaster, but the final bosses have been pretty lackluster. Although, while I think the Nega-Wisp Armour was a decent finale, the final boss in Lost World (does it even have a name?) was just a blatant rehash of that boss, only easier. I could go on, rambling about why I dislike the most recent Sonic storylines, but I don't want this post to go over the limits. I'll just say that Unleashed (as well as Adventure 2 & Riders, to an extent) is my favourite storyline so far.I really don't know why the boss from Lost world was such a mess. I think Sega was trying to avoid the "Eggman gets betrayed by the creature that he tried to control and it turns on everyone for the final boss battle' point, mainly because it's been done enough. It was interesting though that when they decided to do it for Lost World that they timed it earlier into the game so it WAS the plot instead of the 'twist' for the boss fight. Even so, Sega really could have done a lot better with the final boss. It wasn't all that memorable in design either. I can't really remember what the mech even looked like. Only reason I'd ever replay the boss over again is to miss that one red ring.
truth be told, I wouldn't care all that much about a weak storyline if the gameplay was really fun and well structured and the bosses were interesting without being cheap.

Just had a skim over the topic. You've got me all looking forward to reading the new issue now.
-
How are people feeling about the global challenge for Cream the Rabbit that is on at the moment?
-
Not sure if other people encountered this problem with the 3DS version but did anyone encounter a lot of cheap deaths towards the end of the game? I found on the Wii U version that towards the end of the game, last world I believe it was or maybe second last, especially with that lava level that I had to go stock up on lives even though I hadn't found much difficulty with the game at all earlier. I could have beaten the game the day I got it had I not raged quit towards the end there.
Also, I know Sonic has never really been the most story driven of games and that I was pretty much expecting the ending that we got, but why did the final boss have to be such a let down? What happened to the good old days where the boss battles were so hyped up to? I mean Generations sorta did that but the boss was still a bit of a let down as well.

Ah that's right. Thanks for that. I should rewatch some of the cutscenes in Unleashed when I've got the time. I'd probably pick up better on any subtle referencing they throw into the latest story arc in the comics. That was indeed Orbot, then known officially as SA-55 (but known by fans as 'Ergo' do to his constant use of the word in that game).
The difference in voice was likely because of different voice casts, since Unleashed was still in the 4Kids Era.
-
Makes sense. Be a bit strange if the cartoon had characters that weren't included in the games, unless they were the 'character of the week' or some such.
-
It probably has. It seems like Sega took a liking to those two ever since Sonic Colours. Though wasn't Orbot also in Sonic Unleashed as well but a little bit different? I do recall a robot that was similar in appearance and personality.

Depending what the changes are to Scourge's backstory and how they are handled, would that really be all that of a bad thing? I do wonder if they would give him a slight redesign to match the changes to the designs of the freedom fighters. I do understand that he is supposed to be anti-Sonic but when my friends see me reading issues with Scourge they start going on about how even the comics have recolours. Which they do, or well, did but still.Actually, it's the other way around; Anti-Sonic (along with most, if not all Anti-FFs) was created by Penders, and Scourge was born in Ian Flynn's first issue of the series, so the character of 'Scourge' is technically still Flynn's creation. Although, IF Scourge comes back he'd likely have a slightly different backstory.

I don't think the Archie comics would be quick to name the station "Death Star" after they just sorted all that legal drama with Pender's in court. The name Death Egg is already a parody on the concept. If anybody wants to talk about other page to page disappointments:
When Wily and Eggman make a Wily Egg, one wants to name it Death Egg III and the other Wily Flying Fortress. What I thought would be funnier if Wily wanted to make another Wily Star to play with Death Egg, you see. If they didn't go with Wily Egg, they would name their station a Death Star.
Also I'm disappointed that when Light was listing their failures he didn't simply said "Gamma", since both scientists have failures named like that.

True. Guess we'll have to wait till E3 as that is when the next lot of details is said to be released. With how Sega is currently doing financially, I just really hope this game is a good one and enough to help get people interested in Sonic again. I'd hate to see little boy Blue go down after so many years when he just started to pick himself up again. Hopefully if the game doesn't, that the cartoon gets the attention of the latest generation of gamers even if it isn't the same Sonic we were introduced to.
Sonic & Mega Man: WORLDS UNITE?!

Typo & forgot to add a sentence at the end.
Possibly but didn't both Shadow and Lyric appear in the comics? Which kinds of puts things at odds with the 'game-exclusive' rule that you mentioned? I don't keep up with the show too much but I know I have seen this around before the latest episodes. If this is one of those "Different time, Different place" stories before the Boom!verse comic was established then my mistake. I admit I don't keep up with the Boom!verse as well as I do the main series though I do remember this being similar to the situation of Shadow being controlled from Shattered Crystal.
