  1. Rock replied to Guts Man, "...H-huh? Oh, it's nothing." He then answered Skye, saying to him, "Maybe, but I'm not sure. Tempo's a friend of mine, so I can't see her being an enemy to you." However, Rock still wasn't convinced that the other robot Skye mentioned was his brother, so he asked him, "Did they... mention any names? It might help us narrow down who did this." Fire Man then heard someone approaching the lab. "I'll be just a second..." he said, checking who it was. Outside, Fire Man saw Hard Man and Air Man. He walked up to them at said, "Howdy, pardners. You comin' to visit? 'Cause... now might not be a good time."

  2. Sonic looked a bit surprised at Coda's appearance, and said to him, "Guess so." He then introduced himself to the robot, "Sonic the Hedgehog: Hero of Mobius, and the Fastest Thing Alive." As Sonic offered a handshake to Coda, he then said, "But I've got a feeling you're not from Mobius now, are ya?" He also met Arek and Lino, but was rather puzzled by the latter's appearance too. "Huh. Come to think of it, looks like you might be a little lost too. Where'd you come from?"

Meanwhile, Chi nodded at Omega, acknowledging his response. He then off-handedly commented to him, "Strange. To think that there was only one E-Series model built between me and you. Sometimes I wonder how the others reacted to Eggman's orders. I'd heard legends about Gamma, at least..."

  3. "That's impossible!" Blaze replied, angrily. "I watched him burn to the bottom of the ocean!" But before Burning Blaze could attack Whisker, one of the Royal Guards arrived. "Your highness! It's terrible! The robot's have breached the Royal Treasury!" he said, panicking for his life. Blaze was furious, and after telling Whisker, "Don't think this is over!" she immediately headed for the treasury. Meanwhile, Captain Metallix was relishing in the treasure there. "Yar! We've hit the motherload! Now, where be that Jeweled--" but before he could continue, he heard a large blast from just outside. Metallix then rushed to the back of the treasury, where he found his star prize. "The scepter! At last!" he said with glee. But as he turned around, scepter in hand, Burning Blaze was standing right in front of him. "Put it down, Metal! Or else!" she said, to which the Captain replied, "Ha! Ye won't be getting rid of me that easily, Blaze! And the name be Captain Metallix, now. Much more personal, me thinks." But Blaze wasn't having any of it, and said to Metallix, "I gave you a fair warning. Now you'll burn once more!"

She then fired a Burning Shot at Metallix... but he just placed the scepter in front of the blast. Suddenly, a small vortex opened in front of him, with another opening behind Burning Blaze. The blast went through the vortex, and hit Blaze in the back. Metallix laughed as Blaze got knocked down. "Har Har! You fool! What do ye think I've been doing while trapped underwater?" he gloated. "I was studying ways to nullify yer Sol-Powered form. And the 'Power of the Stars' seemed like the surefire way to do so! Har!" He then placed the tip of the scepter on Blaze, and said, "Now, o'powerful scepter. Remove the power of the Sol Emeralds from this wretched feline!" Surprisingly, the scepter started to glow, and soon the Sol Emeralds appaered in front of Metallix, before scattering across the world once again. With Blaze back in her normal state, all she could do was watch as Captain Metallix roared with laughter. "Hmm... I should be having enough power left to dispose of ye fer good." he said to Blaze, who replied, "...Why? ...Why would you...?" Metallix just looked at her and said, "The doctor's got some big plans fer this world, so it's best ye not interfere any longer..." And with that, he used the last remaining power in the scepter to open a portal to another world. As he picked her up, he mockingly said, "Fairwell, princess!" before tossing her into the portal, which promptly closed afterwards. "Yer someone else's problem, now!" he joked.

As Metallix left the treasury with the Jeweled Scepter, he said to the Nega-Droids, "Finish up, and leave the rest to Whisker! We be done here!" He and the droids then began to leave Southern Island. As he passed Whisker, he mocked him by saying, "Once again, ye fail to impress, Whisker! Fairwell!" before leaving towards the Metal Marauder Mk.II and plotting a course back to the Egg O' War in Machine Labyrinth. "Ah... I wonder where Blaze be ending up now..." he said to himself.

  4. Sonic was surprised to see Tails getting so much attention from the twins, and he couldn't help but chuckle at them. "Hehe... alright, kids. Give the fox some space. I need him to help me out at the hospital." he said to the twins. He then turned to Tails and said, "I'll go over there now to find the patient. Don't take too long, okay?" And with that he ran off towards the hospital. When he got there, he asked around, "Hey, anyone seen a weird robot come in here? I need to talk to him."

Meanwhile, now outside the city, Chi responded to Omega, "Commander? You're working for a military organisation here?" He then checked to see if his jet booster was working, but it still seemed to be damaged from the battle. "Still can't fly... helicopter it is, then. Lead the way, brother." he said, a little disappointed.

  5. And hi Von Schlemmer. That crazy professor is here. Yay! Is he from the futute here? His clothes look weird

Yep. He actually first appeared in the Genesis Portal Origin Story (Free Comic Book Day this year) and was the one who told Silver what caused the Genesis Portals to appear in the first place. (Basically, they're 'cracks' in space-time caused by Super Sonic's failed Chaos Control in 'Worlds Collide', hence why they lead to other worlds.)

  6. It's that time once more! Here are the covers and solicitation for Sonic Universe #80, Part 2 of 'The Silver Age':

    SonicUniv80.jpg?w=630&cdnnode=1SonicUniv80var.jpg?w=630&cdnnode=1

The FUTURE is in DANGER, and only Silver the Hedgehog can make things right! "The Silver Age" Part Two: Silver has teamed up with Prof. von Schlemmer and they have a plan for stopping the Genesis Portals! This seems like the solution everyone’s been waiting for—but why doesn’t the Council want to hear it? The mystery deepens as a voice calls out to Silver—a voice that only he can hear! Will our unlikely heroes uncover the conspiracy, or die trying? Featuring cover art from the Sonic comic master Tracy Yardley and a CHAOS CRISIS variant by Rafa Knight!

Aw, wittle baby Virtual Hedgehogs. They look so cute and... wait, are they attacking Silver? And hey, Von Schlemmer returns in this issue. Seems interesting overall.

  7. (OOC: Heh, that's fine. After all, this is more of a 'What If?' scenario compared what the main books are doing now. Even on this side.)

Rock replied, "Sure thing. Could you get some please, Roll?" He then recalled something Skye said: "Wait a minute. You said one of them was a girl... in green? That sounds like Tempo." He then began thinking some more. "The red robot... it might be Blu--er, Break Man, but..." When the name 'Sonic' started going through his processors, though, Rock began to feel a slight sense of familiarity. 'Seems odd for the hero to go bad...' he thought to himself, even though he remembered going through a similar problem not so long ago. Then Rock thought about the 'blue robot' Skye mentioned, 'Could that blue robot... somehow be... me?'

  8. "Dunno, why don't I go ask?" Sonic said. But before anyone could say otherwise, Sonic had already zoomed over to Tails' location. "Hey Tails, think I could borrow your skills for a second?" he asked his best friend, adding, "I'm sure you can bring your new fans along, too."

  9. "Well... we can try." said Rock, a little unsure about it himself. Then he remembered something Skye said. "Wait, you said 'robots like us'? Do you remember what they looked like at all?" Fire Man then got a bit worried, and said to Rock, "Woah, easy there, pardner. Don't wanna flood the kiddo with questions, now do we?" But Rock simply replied to him, "Sorry, Fire Man. I'm just wondering if one of Wily's bots might be involved." Fire Man understood, and let Rock continue.

  10. I believe that was due to Eggman removing the personalities from the original Roboticized Masters. ("You get less sass from your minions that way.") Whereas we don't know the exact changes that Eggman and Wily made to Mega Man and Sonic. I presume they just kept the personalities for the sake of it. (That, or Sigma told them to.)

  11. "We know one guy who might be able to help him." said Sonic, noticing Tails in the distance. "And look, he's even got some fans with him already!" he added.

  12. Sonic moved away, getting the idea. Once Chi was completely out of sight, Sonic asked NICOLE, "Where is he, then? I've gotta find out if he's what I think he is."

  13. Well, seeing as Archie's Twitter account recently posted a small preview of 'Mega Man: Worlds Unite Battles', I'd say that one's coming pretty soon. Dunno about Sonic's, though. And to answer you point, Skye... well, maybe Tracy Yardley forgot to add visible damage. I dunno, but they're definately OP here for a reason.

  14. I never really saw it as 'taking no damage' myself, but more like 'taking little/no VISIBLE damage'. Again, these are the same two blue heroes who, time and time again have managed to defeat their enemies, and now their enemies are using them against the good guys. Also, one other thing to remember: although it was only mentioned briefly in Part 2, Eggman and Wily used Sigma's technology (as in, Earth 21XX, Reploid-level tech) to transform them. Hence why they're so much more advanced and powerful compared to the last batch of Roboticized Masters, which only used 20XX, Robot Master-level tech to create them. So with that, plus them just being the big heroes anyway, I can understand why it took two other 'heroes' with almost-equal strength (Break Man and Gemerl) to slow them down. But in the end, there's only one opponent strong enough to beat them: Each other. Hence why Eggman and Wily implanted their 'secondary objective' into the heroes to begin with.

  15. Dr. Light said to Roll, "Certainly. I'll need some time to assess the damage, though." Rock then asked, "Can I help at all, dad?" Thomas replied, "Not in the lab, I'm afraid. Though perhaps you could help get our new guest acquainted." He then closed the lab door, beginning work on Elec Man's repairs. Rock turned back to Skye, and said to him, "Well, I guess you should meet the others." He then began to introduce the Robot Masters at the lab to Skye:

"The one with the scissors is Cut Man. He's kind and friendly, but he get's a little... 'punny' sometimes." Fire Man then interrupted, saying to Rock, "Sometimes?! It's every day, 24/7!" Rock just chuckled and continued, "That's Fire Man. He might seem hot-headed, but he'll help out when you need him." Fire Man added, "If any bad guys turn up, they'll have to face the Flames of Justice!" But Rock just shook his head, smiling. He then continued on to Guts Man, "The big guy is Guts Man. He's very strong, and helps out with construction. And the Robot Master that's with Dr. Light right now is Elec Man." Rock then said, a little worried, "He keeps the electricity working in the city... which is why it's important that he gets fixed soon."

  16. And I'm back, for recaps on Parts 2 AND 3 of the crossover.

First, let's begin with Part 2 (Sonic Boom #8):

We begin this issue where Sonic Boom #7 left off: Boom!Eggman's go-kart plan has been foiled by Boom!Sonic and his friends, with Sticks getting seperated from the group. However, she ends up discovering a Genesis Portal, which the Maverck Hunters X, Zero and Axl emerge from. They seem to have missed their correct destination, even though they used Sigma's own device and had help from Silver the Hedgehog between now and the last time we saw them. (This'll be shown fully in the Mega Man Battle Book.) Zero isn't happy with this and suggests going back... only for the portal to conveniently close on them. X tells them that things should be fine on Earth 21XX, with the Hunters securing Sigma's fortress and Silver containing Vile (again, Battle Books) so they should try and ask the locals for help. Sticks overhears all of this and... er, 'attacks' Zero, wanting to protect the villagers. X explains his purpose for being on her world, and Sticks (correctly, of course) guesses the basic idea of the MMX series in a nutshell. After dragging Comedy Chimp and Fastidious Beaver along for the ride temporarily, the two trios head towards Boom!Eggman's base and run into Orbot and Cubot. After being threatened by Zero, they manage to create a Genesis Portal with one of Boom!Eggman's machines (because of course he has one of those!) and Sticks prepares to enter the portal.

Meanwhile, back on the Lost Hex, Dr. Wily and Dr. Eggman (the main one, from this point forward) show Sigma their plans for Sonic and Mega Man: turn them into minions for Sigma, and have them install the Unity Engines for him. Sigma likes the plan, and wants them to finish it in an hour. It's here that Eggman realises that Wily really doesn't remember what happened the last time they met, and that Mega Man must have fixed his world properly. So he mentions Dr. Light to get Wily's attention, and we then have Eggman's recap on the (slightly different) events of 'Worlds Collide': When one of Eggman's latest schemes (the Time Eater from 'Sonic Generations') failed, a Chaos Emerald somehow ended up on Earth 20XX, back when Wily was working with Ra Moon. The emerald allowed Eggman (in the White Space) to communicate with Wily, and together they created the Skull Egg Zone, Wily Egg, Roboticized Masters etc. They were going to use the Super Genesis Wave to effectively become gods, but that failed when (according to Eggman, at least) Dr. Light tricked Wily into thinking Eggman tried to kill him. (Spoiler Alert: Eggman DID try that!) He uses that as an excuse to say why they failed at the hands of Sonic and Mega Man. Eggman then notes that Mega Man must have succeeded since Wily doesn't remember anything, while Sonic failed and caused his planet to shatter (...among other things).

Although Wily has some doubts as to Dr. Light lying to him, he decides to agree with Eggman's story, and the Doctors' bromance is reborn. But they still need to deal with Sigma, so they come up with their own plan: Sabotaging Sonic and Mega Man's coding so that, when the two of them meet, they'll attack and restore each other. Then they'll be so focused on stopping Sigma, that they won't have time to stop the Docs from using the Unity Engines for their own plans. Sigma eventually returns, wanting results. The doctors give him what he wants, and we see Sonic and Mega Man getting controlled by Wily and Eggman, respectively. We then cut to Earth 20XX, with Dr. Light getting worried about Rock's disappearance. Just then, Auto tells them to see the news, which mentions a 'mysterious new robot' attacking Mega City. Light knows this isn't a coincidence, and tells Guts Man to round up 'the boys', while he gets some backup. We then see the robot attacking cops and trapping them in... rings. Back on Sonic's world, the Freedom Fighters are also getting worried for Sonic, when they get an urgent message from King Acorn. He mentions a strange badnik attacking Mobotropolis, and we cut to the robot preparing to storm the castle. The issue ends with both robots fully revealed: The deadly-fast Sonic Man attacking Mega City, and the powerful M'egga Man attacking Mobotropolis.

This was a fun issue to read, even if it was just more set-up. It was good to see the new 'Worlds Collide' backstory explained, at least briefly. The opening with Sticks and the Maverick Hunters was nice, and it was a little surprising to see the Boom cast get a brief appearance in this issue. Overall, another good set-up issue.

Now for Part 3 (Sonic The Hedgehog #273):

We open in Mega City as Dr. Light's Robot Masters have been mostly defeated by Sonic Man. (Once again, this'll be shown fully in Sonic's Battle Book.) As he begins to take down Fire Man, Time Man mentions to Bomb Man that even with Time Slow, Sonic Man was just too fast. We cut back to Light Labs, and Dr. Light's backup is revealed to be the reformed Wily Robot Masters and Tempo/Quake Woman. Back in the city, a Genesis Portal opens and releases the Unity Engine. But as Sonic Man prepares to activate it, the Wily-bots interfere. Meanwhile on Sonic's world, the Freedom Fighters aren't having much luck against M'egga Man either. Sally realises that even if Sonic was around, it would still be difficult, and tells Cream to make a call. Vanilla (Cream's mother) recieves the call, which is asking for Gemerl's help, and she immediately tells him that he's needed in the capital. Back there, the Freedom Fighters (and Knuckles) continue to struggle, until Big helps out by... er, 'pinning' M'egga Man down. Tails tries to figure out the Unity Engine that M'egga Man planted in the city, but can't get past its shields.

Back in Mega City, the Wily-bots also have difficulty against Sonic Man, who's still too fast to hit... even with Flash Man's Time Stopper! They're soon all hit by the Ring Launcher and Homing Shot (HA!) and promptly defeated. As he tries to activate the Unity Engine once again, a familiar whistle is heard and Break Man appears, teleporting the rest of the Robot Masters off the field. Back in Mobotropolis, M'egga Man manages to trap Big and defeat the others with decoy bombs. He then goes to activate his Unity Engine, only to be stalled by a missle barrage from Gemerl. We then see both battles at the same time, as Sonic Man fights Break Man (the closest equivalent to Mega Man) while M'egga Man fights Gemerl (the closest equivalent to Sonic, not named 'Shadow' or 'Metal'). However, both forces aren't enough to stop the Roboticized Masters, and are soon defeated too. With all forms of opposition crushed on both sides, the two corrupted heroes successfully activate the Unity Engines, fusing the two worlds together. Sigma is glad to see this and mentions that, while one world would fall apart too quickly, a fused world would last long enough to fuel his evolution. Secretly, Eggman and Wily are waiting for Sonic Man and M'egga Man to return and stop each other, along with Sigma. Unfortunately for them, the two Roboticized Masters spot each other before returning, and the issue ends with both Sonic Man and M'egga Man activating their secondary objectives, preparing to attack each other (and unknowingly restore themselves too).

I'll just say this now: I am SO HAPPY that Gemerl's finally getting some love. I've always been interested in how they could build upon what he did in 'Sonic Advance 3' (and 'Sonic Battle', if you count Emerl too) and I'm not disappointed. And people comparing him to Shard... eh, they don't seem THAT similar to me. Maybe it's just the black-and-gold/yellow paint scheme that does it, I dunno. Anyway, I thought this was a very enjoyable issue, and I'm looking forward to Act 1's conclusion.

  17. (OOC: Wait, Elec Man's already here? Hang on a sec...)

Fire Man entered the lab, with Guts Man still carrying Elec Man. "Dr. Light! We got 'im!" Fire Man said. He then asked, "Where do ya want us to put 'im?"

  18. (Ooc: sorry for being inactive, but now im sorta back, will be replying on a daily basis, or even more than once a day. Tried to catch up, missed all the awesomeness. Could someone recap me on what is currently happening so i can have a quick return?)

(OOC: I'll be happy to fill you in via PM, unless someone else is already doing so. Good to see you back.)

Sonic nodded at Sally, then turned to Chi and said, "Alright, guess you're free to go for now." As Chi began to leave, Sonic then said to him, "But! If you try another little stunt like today, you're not gonna be so lucky." Chi just nodded, saying, "I'll keep that in mind." He then approached Omega and said to him, "Everything is settled. Where to now?" Meanwhile, Sonic was still concerned about the city, as well as the other robot involved. "So, is that other robot still in the city?" he asked.
