Can I just say that I love this page as a final to the story?

Actually, interesting note for that page? Check the moon.

Done? Yeah, way to keep up continuity Ian! For those not getting what I mean, in Sonic Adventure 2, Eggman fires a warning shot at the moon from the ARK, leaving it damaged, which is never fixed in the games. Yet in all the games after, it still looks whole. It's nice to see that Ian didn't forget that little bit.

Sorry, its the little things that perk me up.

I'm interested in the genesis of a hero story that were going to get next issue.

Okay, stupid question, as I haven't read them yet.

Are the Sonic Mega Drive comics part of the main comic continuity, or completely separate?

And are there just the two issues (The first one and Next Level) or will more be coming?

@Dylan I think it was an excellent way to end the Shattered World Saga... although the climax was not as visually spectacular as I expected (and if I remember well was Yardley drawing it!). But yeah, that last panel was great: emotional and deep.

@Skye Prower As far as they've shown, I think the Mega Drive series is separate from the rest of the comic, since neither the Freedom Fighters nor any other comic-exclusive character shows up or is even mentioned. As I see, they tried to approach more to the classic videogames.

Now comes my stupid question: after the reboot, what is Sonic's world? Is still called Mobius or is it now Earth?

Thanks ChaosKaiser

As for the naming thing, I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to use Mobius now.  However, I'm not sure if it's ever been referred to as Earth (still behind in the main series of comics so it might have been).  So now it's either Earth, or "Shhh, it's Mobius but don't tell Mommy and Daddy or they'll take our toys away."

Just to clarify, Ian Flynn was asked about this when the first issue released. His answer was this:

Basically, it happened in the main comic universe, but is a far more seperate story from Sonic's other adventures with the Freedom Fighters. I see it more as an excuse incase he ever wants to show the zones from Mega Drive in the main comic, but I'm not bothered either way.

Now comes my stupid question: after the reboot, what is Sonic's world? Is still called Mobius or is it now Earth?

For the comics world? I believe it's still Mobius, they just can't actually call it that out loud.

Wait you all didn't know about this? I already own the issues and have read them. If you have any questions about the megadrive comics I will try to answer them without spoilers.

I have them, I just haven't got around to reading them.  I was just curious before I started one way or another.

About whether the world is Mobius or earth, when the Xorda attacked Mobius way back then, it was confirmed that Mobius was earth, but the reboot might of changed that.

Considering that the Xorda don't exist in the reboot, that detail isn't really canon anymore.

The real answer to the world's name basically boils down to "whatever SEGA wants to call it". Problem is, they just can't seem to decide on a proper name themselves.

Alright, so I found another detail that says that the world is mobius. At the end of the story arc Eggman's dozen, Neph (can't spell the real name) sates that a considerable amount of Mobi were freed, referring to the animals in Badink. If the animals are still mobians then the world is still mobius.

Well the world they live in HAS ALWAYS been Mobius as far as I can tell, even in the games.. Right? I mean it IS more similar to Earth but, that's because of the "Overlanders" population has been rising in the cities all over. But in the comics the zones seems to still be there... So it is a mix of both, Normal cities, and zones apparently.

The term 'zone' seems to have two meanings in the Comics and Games.

1) Area.  Like how we might use county, state, region, or maybe even country.

2) A different Dimension.

So that is freaking confusing!

Yeah it is... But isn't it still Mobius we're talking about? I mean in Sonic Unleashed they just simply state that it's "The World" But never really say "Earth" or "Mobius" That's why it's really confusing. But if the Ancient Ruins of the Echidna tribes home are there, then it HAS TO be Mobius. Since in Sonic Adventure there are still quite a few places obviously from Mobius... Though then again on Sonic Adventure 2, which also mixes with Sonic X's world there is the place called "Prison Island" but the zones exist in the same world as well in the game... So.. It IS Mobius with more Overlander buildings being made... But in Sonic X, it's EARTH that has got the prison island. But it makes no sense what so ever if it is so.

Sonic X is something completely different.

In the games, they are on an alternate Earth that also has talking animals.

In the comics pre-reboot, Mobius is a future Earth.

In Sonic X, Earth and Mobius are in different dimensions.

The post reboot comics are most likely gonna follow the game formula.

But it makes no sense!!! DX It's supposed to be Mobius with humans living there building more cities and stuff... (Though technically it varies on the story whether it is Earth or Mobius...) I mean during the whole Breezie things they were in the Casino Zone, so... It would imply they're on Mobius in my opinion.

Mobius is just a name in this case.

Sonic's world, as far as the games and Comics go, has both humans and anthro-animals living on it.

Whether it's called Earth or Mobius, it's just the name.

A rose by any other name...

Well yeah... =-= But... I'm so used to the name Mobius since they re-named it... I mean sure it is Earth but..

They could call it 'The Sausage Garden' and it would still be the same! ;)

Or, to put it another way, just because it it called 'Mobius' now, doesn't mean it is necessarily like any other version of Mobius.

Okay, I'm not sure if this is "off-topicing", but I have to make the question, and I think this topic would be the best place.

Does somebody know what happens with the comic subscriptions? Is it true that the comic might be cancelled?
