  1. ...that the Freedom Fighters will cause Worlds Unite? xP

Well, more-so the fact that whenever Eggman is using a Chaos Emerald to begin a world-changing event, it's always been the blue one. Which Emerald was used to begin 'Genesis'? The blue one. Which one ended up on Earth for Dr. Wily to find, and begin 'Worlds Collide'? The blue one. So, which one could most likely... (POTENTAIL SPOILERS FOR 'WORLDS UNITE'! READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!)

...be used by Sigma to merge Sonic's and Mega Man's worlds in 'Worlds Unite', as well as control the Genesis Portals? ...I think you get the idea by now.

Speaking of which, Genesis Wave probably drops SonAlly for good. Not that I mind.

You'd be correct. In fact, I believe Ian stated not too long ago that he's pretty much done with shipping characters. Much less hassle that way.

  2. Okay, just to recap, all seven Chaos Emeralds have now been found, in this order:

    - Purple: Found and retrieved by the Freedom Fighters in STH #261 ('Light in the Dark'). Currently in their possession.
    - Red: Found by Chip and given to Tikal in SU #66 ('The Great Chaos Caper'). Presumably with the FFs now, given Tails' "6-to-1" line in SU #75.
    - Grey: Found by Thunderbolt's Egg Army and used as bait, but retrieved by the FFs in STH #265 ('Control'). Currently in their possession.
    - Blue: Found by the Egg Army, used as bait to trap the FFs, and retrieved by Eggman ('Ambushed'). Currently in his possession.
    - Green: Found by the S6, and used as Breezie's Championship prize. Almost stolen by Metal Sonic, but retrieved by Tails in STH #271 ('Champions').
    - Yellow: Found in the Lake of Rings by Tails and Big, and retrieved by them in SU #74 ('Spark of Life'). Currently in the FFs possession.
    - Cyan: Found by Metal Sonic after STH #272 ('Protector'), but retrieved by Sonic and Silver in another zone during SU #75 ('Fury'). Currently in the FFs possession.

So, the only Emerald that the heroes don't have is the blue one, which Eggman has... again... just before a major, world-changing event... again. Seeing a pattern yet?

  3. Just read the new issue, and it's a fun little adventure. It seemed to go by pretty quickly for me, but that might be due to the fact that, aside from the opening and end, it only really focuses on three characters in a burning wasteland, fighting for a Chaos Emerald. I wasn't really bothered by this issue referencing later/delayed issues (honestly, I already have an idea as to how the Genesis Portal Origin might play out...) because it doesn't really impact this story at all.

I mean, the only events that this issue 'spoils' from these 'previous' issues are that:
    1) Silver's back to close these portals that are randomly opening up to other worlds. This is re-established in this issue anyway, just with an added footnote.
    2) Rouge apparently tells the heroes where to find the last Chaos Emerald in Sonic #272. It doesn't tell us anything else that happens in that issue, though.
Either way, it didn't ruin my enjoyment for the issue, and I'm curious to find out where Silver and Metal each ended up (I'm sure Eggman will fetch Metal during WU).

  4. "Far from it!" replied Chi. He continued to dodge Omega's barrage, until a stray missile struck him. Chi landed on the ground, pretty battered from the attack. As he got back up, he noticed Darkspine preparing to attack, as well as Xenon charging electricity. Chi then turned back towards Omega. "Clearly, we're not getting anywhere with this fight," he said to his attackers, "All I'm here for is the anomaly. Nothing else. I couldn't care less about defeating you or them."

  5. Chi narrowly dodged a missile barrage and began firing his own Buster shots towards Omega. As the two robots continued their duel, Xenon and Darkspine moved into position. "Alright, big guy. Remember: knock him out, but DON'T destory him. We need him intact." said Xenon, to which Darkspine nodded. Xenon then began to charge electricity. During this time, Darkspine leaped across the rooftops, and waited above Coda, hoping to knock him out with one fell swoop...

  6. "Gladly!" said Chi, who had been charging his Buster since being trapped. He raised his weapon and fired at the cylinder, covering a part of it in ice. He then proceeded to smash the ice and break free, flying straight towards Omega. In the distance, Xenon smirked at the sight of the two E-Series robots about to clash.

  7. Darkspine just facepalmed at the sight of Chi being caught. "Oh, come on! We've gotta do something, Xenon!" he said, but Xenon just analyzed their opponents. "Hmm... I dunno, perhaps this will give them a false sense of advantage." he replied. Xenon then noticed Omega entering the marketplace, guns blazing. "However, I certainly wasn't expecting that to appear." Clearly, the plan needed rethinking. Then Xenon said, "Heh, I hope you're itching for a fight..."

Meanwhile, Chi lowered his weapons as he was incased in the nano-cylinder. "Impressive..." he said to NICOLE, "I seem to have underestimated your nanite defenses. No matter, I'll be taking the anomaly one way or another!" However, he soon spotted Omega. It had been a while since he last saw his 'big brother'. "Oh, hello brother. How nice to see you." he said rather sarcastically, as if to insult Omega. "Has Eggman sent you on another pointless errand?"

  8. Chi proceded to land between the Freedom Fighters and Coda, aiming his Busters at each side. "Drop your weapons, and no-one gets hurt." he said, in a polite manner. He introduced himself, "I am E-121 Chi, and I have been ordered to deliver this... anomaly to my master." Still hiding, Darkspine was growing restless.

  9. Before anyone could react, Chi fired a charged buster shot near the Freedom Fighters and Coda. As he flew by, Xenon and Darkspine waited to initiate the next step.

  10. And now for even MORE previews! This time, it's the covers and solicit for the second Battle Book, focused on the Sonic characters:

    WUBCover.jpg624px-4509167-3%2Bsonicbattlesvar.jpeg624px-WUBVarient.jpg

ALL-NEW DIRECT MARKET-EXCLUSIVE special! There are so many epic battles in the SONIC/MEGA MAN crossover event that the biggest brawls of the bunch have exploded into their very own book! Twelve issues just isn’t enough to contain all the frantic action of “Worlds Unite!” The action spills over into this second special stand-alone issue where an all-star cast of creators bring you an extraordinary all-action issue! Watch as Sonic battles the Deadly Six, Knuckles throws down with Break Man, and Sticks… goes after Roll?! LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE! Also featuring variant cover art from Roger and Idalia Robinson, and a special wrap-around sketch variant by Sonic and Mega Man superstars Evan Stanley & Jamal Peppers!

Knuckles vs. Break Man, eh? Sign me up! I suppose this also confirms that Mega Man's world will still be set between Mega Man 3 and Mega Man 4 during the crossover.

  11. We talking about the Transformers movies? Well, in that case... let me just get this off my chest: I enjoyed the first one as an action film, despite some dumb moments (*coughtheparentscough*), I ABSOLUTELY LOATHE the second film for all it's worth (first time I fell asleep in a cinema, at the age of 13... you know, the TARGET AUDIENCE?!), I surprisingly didn't mind the third film, and... hoo boy... I found the fourth one to be a massive guilty pleasure of mine. (Yep, I said it. I don't regret it.)

Now, as for the Sonic movie, I'm interested in seeing the final product, if only to see which end of the film-making spectrum it lands on. ('Actual thought' vs. 'Money')

  12. ...And right on que, we have Part 11's covers and solicitation. So here's the penultimate issue (Sonic The Hedgehog #275). Just one more part to go:

    780px-Sonic_The_Hedgehog_-275.jpg780px-Sonic_The_Hedgehog_-275_%28variant780px-Sonic_The_Hedgehog_-275_%28variant780px-Sonic_The_Hedgehog_-275_%28variant780px-Sonic_The_Hedgehog_-275_%28variant

CELEBRATE 275 ISSUES OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG with his good buddy Mega Man and the worlds of STREET FIGHTER, BILLY HATCHER, NiGHTS INTO DREAMS, MONSTER HUNTER and more in this DOUBLE-SIZED ISSUE! “Worlds Unite” Part Eleven: It’s pan-dimensional pandemonium as the unified army begins their attack on Sigma! Sonic, Mega Man and X lead an all-star roster of heroes from across the SEGA and Capcom universes in an all-out assault against the villainous robot from the future! Will they be enough to save all their worlds, or has Sigma already become a god? Featuring a wrap-around cover from the legendary Patrick “SPAZ” Spaziante! PLUS 5 variant covers from Edwin Huang, Lamar Wells, Tracy Yardley, Rafa Knight and part 11 of the epic 12-part connecting variant cover series by artist Ben Bates! Don’t miss the penultimate chapter to the biggest crossover event in Archie Action history!

So, it seems by this point of the crossover, the worlds' heroes are all united, ready for the final battle. Though the thought of Sigma reaching god-status is certainly worrying. Not so much the idea of Sigma becoming all-powerful, but the idea that the Chaos Emeralds might be required once again. I could be wrong though.

  13. Guys, I just realised something. (Potential Spoilers Ahead!)

So apparently Xander, Eggman and Wily will have their own plans after leaving Sigma (and likely getting dumped by the heroes, but... come on, that's to be expected). Meanwhile, Sonic Boom #10's variant shows other villains like Reala from 'NiGHTS', and M.Bison from 'Street Fighter'. So... what if, while our heroes are recruiting the other SEGA & Capcom heroes, the trio of baddies begin their OWN recruitment plan to gather the VILLAINS of each world, like Reala and Bison? (Maybe even the D6?)

  14. Also...I know NegaMetallix posted the the previous Megaman one in the World's Collide topic, but he didn't put up the variants so if you want to see here they are

    625px-Mega_Man_-50.jpg

    Main

    Mega_Man_-50_%28variant%29.jpgMega_Man_-50_%28variant_2%29.jpgMega_Man_-50_%28variant_3%29.jpgMega_Man_-50_%28variant_4%29.jpgMega_Man_-50_%28variant_5%29.jpg

(Fourth variant looks wrong to me)

Yeah, I had a problem with adding those covers; either it wouldn't let me post them because the 'extension isn't supported on this community', but when I did get the right ones, there were too many images on the post (keep in mind, I was also posting Parts 5-7's covers too) so I cut it down to the main cover only. Then again, I personally prefer the main over all the variants anyway (aside from the last one, but that's part of a much bigger cover). ESPECIALLY that one with 'Quake Woman' and... Xander Payne's undead corpse?! (Well, that's what I think it looks like. Honestly, that art is so un-Mega Man that I question how it even got approved.)

  15. Time for some more crossover covers and solicitations, courtesy of yours truly! We end Act 2 with Part 8 (Mega Man #51)...

    242px-MM_51_Cover.jpg242px-MM_51_Variant.jpg

(I know we've already seen the variant, but it doesn't hurt to add it again... right?)

IS ALL LOST?! The evil Sigma unleashes an unstoppable army in "Worlds Unite" Part Eight: Sonic, Mega Man and X lead the unified army against Sigma’s horde of resurrected Mavericks! Sigma has now taken command of the Genesis Portals, threatening to fuse together even MORE worlds! With our heroes’ time and strength running out, Sticks returns with reinforcements—and you’ll never believe who she recruited! Featuring cover art from the legendary Patrick "SPAZ" Spaziante, and variant cover art from Sonic rising star Diana Skelly and part 8 of the epic 12-part connecting variant cover series by artist Ben Bates!

...Then dive head-first into the Final Act, and the point where this basically becomes 'SEGA x Capcom' in Part 9 (Sonic Universe #78)...

    242px-SU_78_Cover.jpg242px-SU_78_Variant.jpg

The third and final act of the EPIC SONIC/MEGA MAN CROSSOVER EVENT begins here! "Worlds Unite" Part Nine: Sigma has begun his conquest of ALL the worlds. Now it’s up to Sonic, Mega Man and X to unify those worlds AGAINST Sigma! It’s a “who’s who” of SEGA and Capcom heroes answering this important call to arms! But with Sigma still active on the unified world, he turns his gaze upon those left behind..! Featuring the worlds of STREET FIGHTER, SKIES OF ARCADIA, NiGHTS INTO DREAMS, OKAMI, GHOSTS 'N' GOBLINS, ALEX KIDD and more! Plus cover art from the legendary Patrick "SPAZ" Spaziante, and variant cover art from "Worlds Collide" penciling star Jamal Peppers and part 9 of the epic 12-part connecting variant cover series by artist Ben Bates!

...and finally bringing together even more worlds, along with Xander, Eggman and Wily possibly planning something, in Part 10 (Sonic Boom #10).

    242px-Sonicboom-10-130808.jpg242px-Sonicboom-10var-130809.jpg

The SONIC/MEGA MAN Crossover event explodes beyond the worlds of just our two blue heroes! "Worlds Unite" Part Ten: Sonic, Mega Man, X and Sticks continue to rally heroes from across the wide expanse of the SEGA and Capcom universes! Who will be brave and join the unified assault against Sigma? PLUS with all of the heroes busy, who’s keeping an eye on the malicious Xander Payne and Evil BFFs Drs. Eggman and Wily? The villains MUST be plotting something now—but what? Featuring the worlds of VIEWTIFUL JOE, GOLDEN AXE, BREATH OF FIRE, PANZER DRAGOON, BILLY HATCHER, MONSTER HUNTER and more! Plus cover art from the legendary Patrick "SPAZ" Spaziante, and variant cover art from Reilly Brown and part 10 of the epic 12-part connecting variant cover series by artist Ben Bates!

No word on Part 11 yet (Sonic's big 275th issue), and the finale (MM #52) won't be revealed until next month, along with the first post-WU Sonic/Universe/Boom issues. As for what we have so far... it's certainly a lot to take in. I understand that a few of you here don't know who some of these characters are, so I'll post a quick summary sometime later. In the meantime, just take a moment to enjoy the sheer beauty of that 'Bald is Beautiful' variant cover... ("MY EYES!")

  16. Fire Man nodded, realising that his presence wasn't helping the situation, and decided to back off. "Er, sorry kiddo. I guess introductions ain't really a strong point o' mine." he said, not wanting to upset Skye any further. "Maybe we'd better wait back at the lab, Guts Man. You'll be fine with him, Roll?" he asked.

  17. As Fire Man walked downtown, he noticed Roll and Guts Man, and began to approach. "There y'all are!" he said, heading towards them. "What's with all this talk 'bout a new..." but he stopped talking once he saw Skye. "Aw, man. Poor thing looks petrified. You okay, little fella?" he said, trying to comfort the young fox.

  18. "Thanks for that." said Elec Man, finishing up on the switch. "Aaand... done! Finally." As Elec Man left the room, he turned back to Cut Man. "So, are you going to be staying here for a bit?" he asked. "Fire Man went to look for Roll after all that commotion on the news, and I'm half-tempted to find out what's going on."

  19. The N-Forcers headed towards the market, staying above ground to avoid detection. On top of a nearby building, they scouted the situation below. "Notice anything, Chi?" asked Xenon. Chi then scanned those involved in the standoff. "It appears that the Freedom Fighters have engaged an enemy," he replied, pointing towards Coda, "but something is... different about him." Xenon was confused. "Different? How so?" he asked, and Chi replied "He seems to be some kind of humanoid robot, but his inner-circuitry doesn't match any data-files from the EggNet OR the Egg O' War." Darkspine, itching for an answer, asked "So? What does that mean?" At this realisation, Xenon smiled. "It means... HE is our anomaly." he said, already thinking up a plan. Chi then noticed Sally approaching the market. "Backup is arriving," he said cautiously, "we must hurry." Xenon then turned towards the others. "Alright," he said, "this is what we're gonna do..."

  20. (I wasn't sure where to put this, so if this post needs to be removed later, so be it.)

I've noticed that some post-reboot characters have recently been either taking part in this RP (Eclipse) or have been mentioned by other characters (Relic). So... has the rule on 'next-to-no post-reboot characters in Free Play' been removed, or is it just an oversight? I don't want to demean those who have posted as/mentioned those characters, nor am I demanding they be removed (besides, maybe they have other reasons for existing in this timeline). It's just something that caught my attention.

  21. Part 7's cover is real intriguing though, I wonder what happened there huh..

Well, the solicit seems to imply that Wily and Eggman are to blame (maybe Xander too), but I have a sneaky suspicion that...

...the Deadly Six will use their mecha-mind control on the Robot Masters and Maverick Hunters. If so, then I'd be surprised that X is controlled, even with his free will.

  22. Geez, how much Worlds Unite content is there now?! As if the main story wasn't enough, we now have these 'Battle Books' coming out:

    Megamanbattlessketchvar-2.jpgMegamanbattlessketchvar-1.jpgMegamanbattlessketchvar-3.jpg

ALL-NEW DIRECT MARKET-EXCLUSIVE special! There are so many epic battles in the SONIC/MEGA MAN crossover event that the biggest brawls of the bunch have exploded into their very own book! This extra-special bonus issue features exciting duels spilling over from the pages of the much-talked about “Worlds Unite” event, and feature an all-star cast of creators! Watch Mega Man bring the ruckus to the Deadly Six, the Maverick Hunters ultimate showdown with Vile and Dr. Light’s Robot Masters tussle with the unstoppable power of hero-turned-uber-villain Sonic Man! LET’S GET READY TO RUMBLE! Also featuring variant art from Patrick “SPAZ” Spaziante, and a special wrap-around cover and sketch variant by Sonic and Mega Man superstars Evan Stanley & Jamal Peppers!

From what's been said (via interviews and the BumbleKing Forums) it seems like these one-shots are gonna be like 'extended battle scenes' in the sense that, while these fights will likely be seen or mentioned within the main issues of the crossover (like the Robot Masters vs. Sonic Man fight) this book will show even more of said fights, without cutting to other characters. I should also note that this particular book is only showing fights from the 'Mega Man [X]' characters' side of things, with another book showing off the 'Sonic [boom]' character fights. Also, while it's debated that these will only be two issues, I'm actually guessing that there will be six; three for each side, one for eact Act in the crossover.

  23. Elec Man noticed Cut Man enter the lab. "Ah, Cut Man! Just the guy I need." said Elec Man, still working on the volt-switch from earlier. He then asked "Do you think you could lend me a hand over here? I've got some wires here that need cutting and... well, we both know that I'm not so good at handling sharp objects."
